Other games to consider would be the .hack// quadrilogy, the Sword Art Online handheld games (one's partially fan-translated for PSP, another is fully translated for Vita), or possibly TES games.

It's got the only class-based skill system that should ever be allowed (you put points into trees without restriction and unlock class bonuses if you have enough points in individual trees). Lore-wise, it had some of my favorite elves. It's a single-player MMO, though, so expect repetition.

I liked the fact that they spent almost the entire time showing off games. A couple of E3s ago Microsoft finally realised that nobody gives a fuck about all the corporate marketing speak they used to do, they just want to see games.
Most of the games looked crappy, but at least they're trying.
