Cartoons based on R rated movies

Cartoons based on R rated movies

...

Oh, I got one for you.

That intro music is badass

No video for this one, because the pilot has been lost, but yes, they tried making Aliens into a Saturday morning cartoon.
Yeah, I don't even either.

Common knowledge tbh.

Operation aliens isn’t a bad name for a series.

How do the pilots for these shows just disappear? Do the reels get put in a vault and then people forget where they went? Do they get stolen, like what happened to Food Fight? Destroyed?

From what I know it's usually faulty storage or the company themselves destroyed them in the process of reusing tapes or something in order to save money or they were filed away in the wrong place and after various stages of restructuring and buyouts, liquidations, etc the material gets lost in a maze of paperwork and shit or may have even gotten destroyed. Hell it doesn't help that nobody even knows which Korean studio Fox had signed to make the show anymore.

This was fairly common, though I bet not so much anymore since now they probably use digital storage mainly. There's actually a lot of episodes of the original runs on Doctor Who that got lost because studios recorded shit over them

They should have recorded over all of them. Doctor Who is terrible.

i would have loved Hellraiser cartoon, with those "Harrower" guys being the god guys and stuff.
Or maybe one based on NightBreed, imagine that 80s/90s action toon madness, and the toys of course

...

Rock n' Rule was shitcanned after completion, because the new boss at MGM hated cartoons, nearly bankrupting the production company. Then the warehouse where the master tapes were stored burned down.
The whole thing had to be cleaned up digitally frame-by-frame from a VHS tape for the DVD release. It's a miracle we ever got a DVD release that wasn't the edited Canadian cable TV version.

Sometimes being a Westerner is really depressing.

Highlander: The Animated Series. I was gonna make a There can only be one! . . . Season joke but it actually got two seasons surprisingly.

A Hellraiser cartoon would've been hilarious.

complete bullshit. The animation looks tight as hell, too.
(but then again, pilot episodes usually look better anyway)

user, i think you got some dirt or something under your shiftkey…

the anime is good

That the one with the chainsaw, right?

Yeah, Yoshiaki Kawajiri, same guy as Ninja Scroll, Wicked City, and Vampire Hunter D.
And the same writer as the live-action series, so basically it's the only good Highlander film since the first one.

Bladerunner

Judge Dredd

my nigga

how the fuck was exosquad based off bladerunner when it was a macross/robotech spinoff?

But seriously, when the film came out they did breifly launch a kid-friendly Dredd weekly comic, in the style of Sonic the Comic. I have issue 1 somewhere. All the stories are about Dredd, though (one re-tells the original first Dredd story, only in colour). They could have used elements from the rest of 2000AD's established world. I don't know how long it ran for, but even articles about the history of 2000AD never mention it, so I doubt it was long.

user, your shiftkey is damaged.

IS THIS BETTER?

Well, Ninja Scroll and Wicked City is pretty good…guess I'll go watch that Highlander anime then.

Shiftkey broken, you might want to fix that.

Mortal Kombat had a cartoon….

I loved that show as a kid.

Man, I don't remember this at all.

Everyone was really excited for this after Streetfighter II the animated movie, then it turned out to be more GI Joe crap, like the SF2 series.

THE FUTURE!
ANDROIDS!
OFF WORLD COLONIES!
ANDROID REBELLING!

what else had enough sequels to work as a cartoon?
Critters?
Puppetmaster? (this had some possibilities, aswell as other of their related franchises)
Reanimator?
Chuck Norris had some cartoons too i think

user I know you failed elementary grammar but at least form a proper sentence when responding.

says the user who can't into punctuation

Why would a franchise need sequels to warrant a cartoon series?
Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm Street
Terminator
Saw
National Lampoon whatever
Gremlins
Matrix

A terminator cartoon based on the future war scenes could have worked well, it was all lasers anyway, and the enemies were robots. They could have set it between the movies, with the Terminator 2 reprogrammed unit going on missions in the future to get parts for a new time machine. And the T-1000 would have been a good cartoon bad guy too, you can do all sorts of violence to him and he comes back just fine.

Revenge of the Nerds?

You forgot your periods.

And the capital first letter of the sentence as well.

I think to establish episodic content.

Phantasm
Kickboxer
Bloodsport
Human Centipede
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Halloween
Sharknado
Death Race
Silence Of The Lambs
The Exorcist
Basket Case
Emmanuelle
Fist of Fury/The Chinese Connection
The Howling
Die Hard
Lethal Weapon
Dirty Harry
Death Wish
A Better Tomorrow
Taboo
Psycho
Tremors
Jaws
Demons
Evil Dead
The Amityville Horror
Poltergiest
House
The Godfather
Maniac Cop

i get the horror ones having cartoon potential?
but how would you use the porno ones?
Human Centipede would be like some sort of freakier CatDog?

Emmanuelle could be like Dora The Explorer with more donkey sex and alien abduction.
Taboo would be like The Simpsons but with Kay Parker as Marge.

Your shift key is broken.

i would imagine stuff like Emmanuelle, 2 moon junction or Wild Orchid cartoons being about "girl goes on adventures"
Wild things would be about "giris go on advenutres, and ruin everyones shit for fun"

God, that would've been cool. And think of all the toys they could've made!

lel

Natural Born Killers?
It could be like the Dukes of Hazzard, with Tommy Lee Jones throwing his hat and stomping on it at the end of every episode.

So there was this thing where you could either chop the head of an immortal to take their power or they could give it willingly, I was OK with that, but the whole Gilligan's Island premise doomed it from the start.

was there a PREDATOR cartoon?

And reported for unrelated Holla Forums spam.

Kek

Keep this fucking Gen x degenerate with the bear puppet and his dime store impression of Peter Griffin off Holla Forums. Lowlife cant even be bothered to throw the fucking puppet in the wash after hes done mouth fucking the thing for the tenth time in a week before making a video.

...

Why don't we look at video games for answer? X-Com would've been awesome, for one. It already had that saturday morning cartoon aesthetic, but they got away with much more violence due to the medium.

It's really unfortunate this show was left unfinished
