I used to hate MLP because people kept putting it on a goddamn pedestal because they were biased on how it has "feelings". I have a problem with that due the reason why we're in this thread complaining about CalArts, because that indie shit relies on "feels" instead of actual effort in the art. So, as an animationfag, I got annoyed when some brony says "MLP helped save animation from a dark age" despite the fact there were a lot better shows like Thundercats, Motorcity, Tron Uprising and well Gravity Falls. Then I realized that it's just a goddamn kid's show that's harmless and actually had effort for a show of its genre, unlike Steven Universe which had Tumblr ideals which made it easier to be perverted by SJWs. Now, I actually think it's one of the few shows that still try to show effort in its art. While I didn't pay much mind to it back then, today's it's one of the few shows that isn't a CalArts lazily animated show. I don't think that's a good thing when a show that displays animation with the effort that is expected is now one of the few artistically competent animation in a market saturated by noodle arms. Only other shows I can think of that are still artistically competent are Harvey Beaks, Archer, Moonbeam City, The Loud House, Gumball and Wander Over Yonder. And the latter is sadly getting canceled soon.

I'm at 5+ years at the moment art wise, I can also animate. Sadly most of the finished stuff I have to show for it is pretty lewd and fetishy and I'm trying to get away from that. I can hold my own though and refined my foundations pretty well. I know what's appealing and have gotten decent popularity with two art names in the past… of course, once I got out of the lewd art I really didn't have a direction to go… up until now. I've been considering making a game for a while to try and inspire some positive things when most games are just propaganda, but I think this is the push I needed.
