Dynamite made a new Dejah Thoris series. I thought this one would have been SJW as fuck, but its kind of alright… The plot is a tad confusing.
Storytime: Dejah Thoris

And that is pretty much all. I am actually surprised they went for skimpier designs than what was originally intended in concept art.
I doubt a SJW comic would have the heroine dress so skimpily.
The setting is some sort of post-apocalyptic Mars, right? It seems pretty good so far.
The art looks iffy
Was there any real explanation as to how a whole fucking ocean evaporated in the previous continuity? I don't remember seeing water there either?
There was this comic series called Fall of Barsoom which was set in the distant past. They explained that the oceans were receding because of a natural disaster.
Compared to the previous JC comics, its a hell of an improvement.
kek.
Why did you have to make me notice this
It evaporated due to nukes, was stolen into space, or was sent to another deminson
Thanks user
It's shit.
The setting is based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs Mars stories.
Elaborate user. I don't know why this is a bad thing.
Red martians are different than humans in that they don't have fingernails.
Was this ever explicitly said? I remember they lack belly buttons because they were born from eggs.
They should really spend more on the art department.
It does say it in one of the first couple books.
I knew something was bugging me about the 4th page, but I couldn't put me finger on it until now. They ctrl-v'ed her head and flipped it to make her lie down in bed. Same exact expression and they didn't remove her crown or earrings. At least they added some hair splayed across the pillow.
This looks way shittier than the Warlords of Mars comics from a few years back.
Get your eyes checked, user
No, he could be on to something. It's not good enough to be Poser, and some of the linework is different, but it's like the same picture flipped in the pencilling stage then inked separately. Notice her earring is still hanging down even though she's on her side. Can anyone do a layered comparison?
Lol in b4 changing the whole comic so everyone has Dejahface.
I think he's right. The artist clearly just cut the head, shrunk it, flipped it, pasted it on and then added a few token strands of hair so nobody would think twice.
Some of the lines are very slightly different.
It's like one of those 'spot the differences' pictures on the back of cereal boxes.
Like I said, the shoop was in the pencilling stage, but the inking must have been done afterwards.
How about that shoulder though
Nah.
How exactly does a man raise a daughter to be his successor who is so goddamn naive? At her age, she should be directing the torture and execution of greens, not being introduced to the prisons.
I think it may be more that the artist can only draw one face.
And what kind of tard wears their jewellery and tiara to bed?
The art looks alright, but looks inoffensive compared to previous comics.
its a spinoff of a comic based off an OLD book from the 1910s about a cowboy that gets teleported to mars and has save the princess save the kingdom type adventures swashbuckler style
the original comic is superior to this and so is the remake
user your shiftkey is broken.
user, your mum is broken. I know because I gave her a good hard fuck last night
autismo, your spam is broken
user your shiftkey is broken.
yum
Appreciate the storytime.
Ah fuck, made me giggle
At least she's actually red in these pictures.
I love when people have so little appreciation for source. John Carter is a Virginian who may be immortal, he fought in the Civil War and moved out west in the aftermath looking to restore his family's wealth. He is attacked by Apaches and while trying to shelter in a cave sees SOMETHINg that is so horrific he is shocked out of his body and awakens on Mars. Mars is not "Post-Apocalyptic", Mars is "Dyeing Earth" (though you may not know the genre difference) A very late stage culture, in its final throes as resource scarcity fights socal decadence to determine what will exterminate the races of Mars first. People dont wear cloths, just belts with pouches and weapons. The apparent mammals of Mars are oviparous (they lay eggs). The religion of Mars is a suicide cult. All personal interaction is honor based. The source of Technology is completely lost, and barbarians are at the gates, in the form of green skinned bug eyed giants with 4 arms. A much abused source, if you can take early 20th century writing read the first 3 books. Remember the stories were serialised for a magazine first (Argosy), and later collected into a novel. If your not a Pozzed up twat Borroughs can be a lot of fun altogether.
...
Unironically kill yourself.
I have the first three. Are the sequels any good?
Mostly, after 5 you have the law of diminishing returns hot on your heels and we start following different characters.if you like the author in general and wonder how the universe plays out read the first three or so Venus books, and his Moon stories, lets just say things don't go so well for good old earth.
Good to know.

Next issue is in a few days.
If this thread is on autosage, I'll continue though, otherwise, this storytime is open for others to resume.
Thanks for the read. A bit confusing, but much better than Marvel's output.
