I really enjoyed 1 so "more of the same" sounds pretty good.

Probably my only gripe with the game is that by the time all of the other party members unlocked (Tekken, CC2, MAGES, etc) I was already steamrolling everything with Nep/Compa/IF so I never felt the need to switch up my team, even to the other CPUs.

RB 2 is more of the same which is just what I wanted except you have four party members now. Make sure you grab the re;translation. And like said, you should do the conquest ending sometime. Doesn't need to be on your first play through though.

The games avalaible on steam(Rebirth) are all made by some side company(Felistella) and they just reused EVERYTHING from Neptunia Victory for all 3 games, there are very, VERY minor gameplay differences so if you want to see the gameplay evolve, wait for V2, wait for sale which should probably happen during summer sale or when V2 releases

RB2 is alright; extra party member by itself makes the gameplay feel a bit more comfy but the translation was butchered so make sure to use the retranslation in the OP. In comparison to the original Playstation version (Mk2) some shit was removed that made the game easier, although at least the Mighty No. 9 scam man was trashed in the process for some small consolation.

RB3 has a lot of gameplay changes; you don't ping for secrets, you instead find hidden Mario question blocks on the map. Combat, EXE is tied to SP, and SP regenerates with attacks (especially Rush) so things are a bit more strategic as EXE spam is a bit harder now so SP attacks will get used a bit more. Also SP items have a high utility now as a result. Translation is better than RB2 but it's still bad enough that it's getting a (smaller) retranslation treatment.
