Yeah you did. The 3DM was fundamentally broken. After downloading the fix to get the game to actually load, it ended up being borked to hell by all the countries being blacked out (and consequently no visible borders of any kind) and running at about 5 frames per hour.

I'd say that diplomacy is better in HoI4, and it doesn't railroad you into historical scenarios as much as HoI3. It's also much flashier with the battleplans and shit (AI will try to fulfill your battleplans, but I found it's infinitely better to just control the units manually, since the AI has some seriously weird ideas about how warfare works).

Other than that, HoI3 is better or at least equal in everything, I'd say. Also people are talking about how they made USA go communist the first year, not even by playing them, simply boosting communist popularity as a foreign country, so yeah really believable game here

I didn't play much of HoI2, but HoI3 is autistically accurate, I genuinely remember being surprised that they worked that much on attention on that game after seeing some names

HoI3 had accurate names and included historical photographies of the people mentioned. It was by no means an excellent game (it had a shitton of issues, big and small), but at the very least, it tried to be historically accurate

Question for the guys who are playing HOI IV and hopefully pirated it : What's the max bonus for battleplans? Do you receive a penalty for not using them? Can you use them in a very limited scope just for breaking strong defenses by making the plan 2 provinces deep?

50%, you gain 2% everyday. There's a land doctrine tree that increases your battle plan bonuses but I haven't played with that one yet, I don't know how much does it increase

You don't receive any penalty for not using them. Also you can just draw an arrow to the next province and you would still get that bonus, so yes.

This is quite surprising, I was messing around with the console and found that they included many portraits of Fascist/Communist leaders that appear in case of civil war or ideology change. They included Dergelle, Mosley, Tito and even some random Poles and Russians that I've never heard about

The AI can't barbarossa properly resulting in a massive stalemate in Europe over 10 years. No combat. Just everyone standing around like idiots with seemingly unlimited manpower. (no shit both sides have lost like 6 mill each and no sign of stopping and I'm already 1947).

The new Map drawing system is entirely broken. It just doesn't work, and you have to rely on it for Naval Invasions else the game looses its shit because they couldn't implement pathing into enemy territory.

Staging coups is pointless because it generates 1 unit, rather than units based on population loyal to Facism/Communism/Democracy. You can have fascist America still fight Nazi Germany because the game automatically puts them into the Allies. And I might add unrealistically adds America to the war well before they should (where the fuck is the neutrality the Americans were notorious for).

The trade screen is stupid because it doesn't show the materials you need.. why the fuck is it even on a seperate screen anyway. You should be allowed to click on a resource on the production screen and a popup comes up "Source Resource From". Why the fuck is it a separate UI.. It serves no purpose at all.

On my end the game cannot be finished unless you're playing as a Major nation. Playing as a Minor nation results in stalemates that end ultimately in a crash because the AI is so fucking stupid it can't fight itself until the game crashes.
