The ouya is a fantastic device.
I have roms and emulators for Atari 2600, Genesis, Neogeo, NES, MAME, NES, N64 and PlayStation.

I've also got a neogeo arcade joystick hooked up to it.

It's pretty sweet.

And if also does a good job of streaming using KODI.

There are worse consoles out there then the OUYA.

Lmao a phone can do all that shit without the need for a TV or anything. Hell even the PSP was able to do that as back as 2006

It is an Android device, except its not portable, so essentially what you got was an overpriced Android device tethered to your TV

Thats not even to say that its a bad thing, because there are many Android streaming devices on the market right now, the difference is almost none of them cost anywhere more than 50 bucks at best and instead of using "cutting edge" shit from 2013 they just use modern but modest ARM boards, for example, I got a Streaming Media Box for free from a friend and it runs on Android, but I was actually able to replace Android with stock ARM Linux (these Chinese ARM boards almost always use standard BIOS roms)

Its just so weird to me how this thing was produced and marketed, what the fuck were they thinking?

You know what I bought for 99 dollars? A tablet with 1920x1200 resolution and runs on an Intel chip that supports PC games and programs

I bought a tablet for about that with actual controls built into it. The main issue with it is the thumbsticks don't click in, but most PS1 games don't use that anyway. I replayed all my old favorites on it, plus a bunch of games I never got to play. I even pirated an old fighting game I loved as a kid, that was stolen from me, and found out it was shit this whole time.
