They used to have damage drop over distance, but that was lost when they complained it was too weak despite demolishing everything at close range. Now it just works at any range compared to NC having either far range/close range with no middle ground and TR only getting huge amounts of dakka. The funniest part is I really only ever see Inflitrators, engineers with MAXs, and heavy assault. They use the most broken weapons with these classes and have the best MAXs. Just recently they complained to the devs that Vanu maxs need to be better at close range to stand up to NC shotgun MAXs and TR anti-vehicle MAXs. The devs finally told them to fuck off since they have the best all purpose MAX in the game.

In SVER the first fucking thing you took in every weapon load was a medkit. We used comms and coordinated at every level. You never heard screaming little kids in SVER either, because we didn't look "cool" like the other factions.

The initial series felt really amateur, but still good, and I watched it every week until they changed the hosts and it got worse (ironically, just as Five Guys was kicking off). Stopped watching it completely after the Irish host did some scripted gamedropping.

Other studios claims to have been inspired by her work and have done their best to follow what she says. Even if she didn't have any direct involvement, which I very much doubt, she may have influenced them anyway. We'll find out if we play it. There's bound to be easter eggs or references to her if that's the case.

I haven't played the game myself, but I watched a friend play it in the EA Access demo or whatever while he was streaming.
There were definitely no smiles that I saw, but I noticed some other flaws as well.
The movement didn't seem to flow as well, probably due to attempted realism. You jump from higher up? You're going to be slow on the landing. You grab a pole to swing around a corner? Congrats, there went half your speed. You're a fictional character in a fictional universe where parkour is king, so have some lenience here.
You get some stupid-ass objectives like "fight the guards and turn off the radio tower." No, that's stupid. It's a game about GOING FAST. Don't make the objective include stopping and fighting, especially in a game with as clumsy combat as Mirror's Edge.
In the first game, I used guns all the time. Why? Because running in circles and throwing punches was fucking stupid, and fighting the armored enemies took too long while you wait for them to try to hit you so you could use a takedown.
