The 2.11 update of the Modern Firearms mod (pic related), which added a metric fuckton of new weapons, for Fallout 4 got removed from the nexus due to idlesheep (mod creator) apparently stealing assets in order to make it. Now, I, for one, don't give two fucks about how those assets were acquired. I come to you all today in a desperate plea to see if by any chance any of you happened to get it before it got taken down, and would mirror it for us here. I already combed google for those back-end Russian and Japanese sites that mirror popular mods, but no one seems to have it. If any of you would be willing to help, you can have all of my internets and good karma. Thanks in advance
When the nexus takes stuff down for these reasons, there's another site that used to host all these "pariah" mods. But i can't for the life of me remember it's name. I remember during the FO3 era, there was this Warhammer 4k style armor that got taken down because the russian creators didn't have the rights to rip off the model from something else, so it was uploaded there and later on Holla Forums itself made it compatible with NV. If only i could remember the name of that site, i'm sure someone else on Holla Forums must still remember what the hell it was called.

This is why pooling all of one game's mods on one site is a horrible idea.
In the case of the Nexus, you have batshit insane mods who ban shit they don't like and if everyone is forced to only download from the Nexus, it effectively wipes a mod off the face of the web.
That's why for shit I do like in vidya I mirror it even though autists will DMCA it from time to time in case of shit like this who whine about how they aren't getting downloads from their site so nobody else can have it.
Trying to check if the Japanese have it, so far I've got only referrals to the Nexus.

Same. There used to be a very active community of people who steal mods and upload them to random god-awful websites designed in the late 90's. The internet was a better place back then. I don't particularly like the game either, but after playing I can't go back to NV. I loved the shit out of NV, put about 1200 hours into it, but that engine is so clunky it's damn near unplayable after you've spent time with F04

Nexus won't allow mods that break other game's EULA agreements. For instance, some guy made XCOM 2 weapon mods, but it was using ripped weapon models from Battlefield 4. Ripping those models broke DICE's EULA, and as such hosting them on the Nexus was a breach of the Nexus ToS.
The Nexus takes that stuff down because they could get in deep shit with developers if they didn't. The site's too big and well-known for them to get away with it.

Anyone notice how Fallout 4 has no big names in its voice cast? I mean Fallout 3 had Liam Neeson and Malcolm McDowell. Skyrim had Max von Sydow and Cristopher Plummer. Oblivion had Sean Bean, Patrick Stewart and Terence Stamp. Fallout 4 has nobody. I dunno, it just feels half-hearted to me.

Millenia has made some texture mods for F04, but I heard on the GUNetwork that Nakey and them (modelers and shit) don't want to mod for F04. No idea if that's true, but if it is then Millenia is going to have to find another modeler to do textures for

I just took a look around there, and it seems that even beyond modeling (which really, if there's a demand, some talented modeler will step up) - there's issues with implementing new animations. So even if we got new weapon models, we might not have the animations to go with them unless Bethesda either releases the necessary tools, or someone comes along and makes the tools themselves. And that's not even considering that certain animation types might be "baked in" to the CK/GECK the way they were in Skyrim… making it almost impossible.
Then again, didn't Fore find a way to hot swap animation sets in pretty much real-time, allowing for new animations? I haven't fucked around with Skyrim in like a year, but I had Spears by Soolie installed and I heard about some kind of breakthrough fore made which would make Spear mods like Soolie's obsolete. Maybe that could be applied to FO4 with enough tweaking.
