The album was supposed to come out back in September but Phil's health problems delayed the recording of a few songs
The plan was to make a game so popular that when the album came out, they would reveal the GODS behind the game.

The game was made entirely on a KORG Wavestation and was being devoloped since the release of We Can't Dance, back in 1992.
Kike devoloped the game all by himself.

As for the game itself, the idea for it dates back to 1972, Kike wrote a song called "A Trick Of The Tail" for the Foxtrot album, (which wasnt actually recorded until 1976), and Banks thought the concept of the song was interesting, and wanted to expand on it.

Following the recording of The Lamb, Banks wanted the next album to be another concept album, called "A Trick Of The Tail", but the rest of the band thought the idea was shit, but around the same time, Peter left the band, and Banks got more control over it, and while the idea for a concept album was discarded, a few of the songs Banks wrote for it got used later on (ATOTT, Afterglow, Undertow and Cul-de-Sac) and the next album got called "A Trick of the Tail"

16 years after the release of ATOTT, while on "The Way We Walk" Tour, Banks realized the potential that VIDEOGAMES have and started developing a game based on the plot of the scrapped concept album.

I actually left out a few details here:
In the late 90's there were alot of reunions of the band with Gaybriel and Steve Hackett, which culminated in the release of the Genesis Archives and Carpet Crawlers '99, but there was another thing that was supposed to come out along with the Archives albums and the new song, a videogame.
Gaybriel had already been involved in the devolopement of a few videogames (XPLORA1 and its sequel, EVE) and already had a video game studio, Real World Media (later renamed Real World Games, then Charisma Games, then closed down very silently on 2007), so on a "secret" meeting the band had in 1995, Banks had discussed he wanted to make a videogame based on the scrapped ATOTT concept album, so Gaybriel proposed that his studio should make the game, and the real devolopment of the game began in 1996.
However, this incarnation of the game didnt last very long, as Phil left the project and the band, and Gaybriel did the same for the recording of his then-upcoming album "Up". This wasnt the end of the game, as in 1998 the band reunited again and devolopment restarted, apart from the basic plot being the same as the plot for the final game, i dont have much details for this one, the game was completed but never released or even announced, and thats all i know about it.
If i reveal more about this ill probably get fired from my job as a viral marketer, this entire post already has put my job at risk.
