I played a bit of it on mobile

It's a text-adventure game book. Not like some stupid SJW indie garbage, but designed as an actual gamebook. You get multiple choices of what to say and where to go, with the ultimate goal being to get around the world as quickly as possible. The game won't stop you if you're too slow, but it'll change course slightly. Since you can go back to previous points in the story though, it isn't a big deal.

A lot of the game is inventory/budget management. Say you want to bring some wine, but don't have enough room for it. That means you either get rid of something to make room, buy a second luggage, or just leave it. The wine might be useful later, but extra spending money never hurts. The game rewards experimentation, but it's mostly trial and error.

Also, it's Euro-steampunk, if that matters.

They're releasing it in 4 parts, too. The combat is bad because it's part luck, part guessing, and it really is just a GUI for a book. Aesthetics are nice though.

It's basically a database simulator. There is a mystery to solve, and once you could reasonably understand it, you can end the game at anytime. But there are odd little hidden things as well, and it's more about your google-fu than anything else. It's at worst pretentious, not SJW. I honestly think it should have won awards… at a digital/interactive art event. But it's not really game because you can't fail in any way beside quitting.

As for the whole bundle, Doublefine wants to pad the sales numbers of Broken Age, same way they padded out Psychonauts with the extra 400K or so copies that were part of the $1 tier of several bundles. Which means they might be gearing up to ask for more money soon, and I won't have any part in that at all. So I'll personally not be trying Her Story yet, as I can wait until it's on a bundle not associated with Shitface.
