Not for long. Google has achieved such market dominance that it is now effectively a monopoly. Given the nature of search engines as comprehensive clearinghouses of information and site locations, maybe its position is a natural monopoly, but it still occupies the peak of its market and has no serious competitors, traffic-wise. I'm sure many people don't even know alternatives exist.

That means Google can either break up into competing providers like the phone company did, or it can be regulated like an insurance company and legally required to be neutral regarding content.

Its not about getting the best match. It is about you marking what they want you to mark as best match.

They do it through a system they call appeal to authority, as in, the more accolades a website has, the more relevant it is.

So if you want to pull out some website about charity in your local state, for example, youll receive first all of the (((human rights))) organization funded by soros.

Even worst: if you attempt to show some good sense and mark local searches as a higher priority than international ones, you wont get picked. It is all engineered from the get-go to not portray the smaller websites and only direct you to the huge corporations.

Even worse, i saw they expect raters to rate 100 websites per hour, which amounts to more than 1.5 queries per minute.

It is a scam which is a subtier way of earning money by working in your home that degrades the overall capilarity of the internet.

There are so many rules and parallel websearches in a shit ton of places. And they won't admit you hurting mainstream thoughts.

For example: let's say you query "cnn fake news" in san francisco, CA. If I link you to a website which explains to you why they are fake news, this is considered not good practice, because the sources won't be authoritative. I'd be more leaned towards linking CNN's own narrative because CNN has more "accolades, awards and prizes", hence, more (((authority))). User intent is second to the own interests of their overlords.

Startpage started out as a good idea years ago, but being that it just acts as a proxy to search Google for you, you'll only get the same censored results.

There is also a chance that Google's analytics algorithm can identify you by your usage of Startpage correlated with your usage of other Google services such as Android, YouTube, etc.

As others have mentioned, ixquick is run by the same people, it does not track you in any way, shape, or form and does not use Google search.

google search stopped being a programmer's tool circa 2007/2009. since then, all queries need to be carefully thought out, and query specificity has dropped significantly. they don't try any more, nor does the internet at large try to organize it's own shit anymore either, and all the seo companies are quite good at stacking the metrics google ranks.

most of this is due to the internet-decay and search-riding-on-everyone-else-organizing feeding back in on themselves. much content was pushed to forums (which can have archive and static api friendly to search, but don't have to), then chans, kikebooks, and disqus/lifefyre/comment ajax systems, etc. all of these things are increasingly not static, require high-recrawling, context-specific crawls, and users to spread anchors and 'worth' structures for bots to then exploit for rank. obviously, all a reaction to google/search engines in the first place. and as google tried to use more cookie-history-specific query tailoring, the problem feeds in on itself that much faster (context within a context specific ajax where users do low inter- and/or intra-platform linking).

If you don't take into account political/data collection considerations, Google is the best search engine ever made… by a wide margin. It has advanced features like string searches, date and time, and such, and it's really good at picking up what expressions mean. You can narrow shit down in a way that's difficult even on a well-supported search engine like Bing.

Most people don't know or care that Google logs everything they type into both it and Chrome, so why isn't 99% of the population using Google? That would make it a monopoly and allow the government to break it up (which would hopefully give us a free speech friendly google). The reason why is normalfags. Normalfags will install the My Best Porns toolbar and search the web with it until their computer smart nephew comes by and deletes it. Then, the next day, they'll install it again because it comes with some ransomware that they downloaded to fix their computer. This endless cycle keeps perhaps 40% of the world's web searches with companies other than google.

I agree that Google has a good engine. In a way, the industry-leading search engine probably should be a monopoly. What I was getting at is that Google needs to be reorganized. I've watched them gathering money and power for 20 years now, and they've gone far enough to become a threat to the polis. Here's my plan:

Leave the Google search engine intact, but regulate it in the public interest for fairness and neutrality, the way ASCAP is regulated to let absolutely anybody pay a flat license fee for music. The ASCAP system is great – anybody can pay one fee, and then they can pick from thousands of songs to play at rallies or sporting events. ASCAP has a natural monopoly on music copyright, and so it can't discriminate. Search engines should be in the same category, especially the big ones.

Force Google to divest its side businesses. Owning the search engine and YouTube is an obvious conflict of interest, especially when we know Google plays games with search results, and so YT should calve into an independent company. Chrome and the other side businesses should go also. There's nothing wrong with corporations being restricted to a single line of business. Corporations owning other corporations is a recipe for a secret state anyway (See: Jews, History of).

Investigate Google's hijinks. They've been investing in some shady shit over the years, such as huge banks of servers that can store snapshots of the entire web, and weird walking-dog robots from General Dynamics – I'd like to know what they're up to before the 2036 cyber war.

I think this approach would do a good job of knocking down a potential threat to free speech and to civil society, as well as restoring the primacy of people's rights and privacy in the face of the globalist kike stormtroopers they have at ((((((Google)))))).
