HOW ABOUT FIXING THE FUCKING COMBAT, YOU POLISH FAGGOTS?

The UI changes added by the patch at least make a huge fucking difference. Combat doesn't change, but everything is now organized in the inventory for starters. Your oils, potions and bombs all have their own sections rather than having to dig through all of them. When you get something readable there's a prompt to read it right away. You can now zoom the map out waaaay further as well as finally toggle items on and off it.

It's stuff that should have been there all along, but it's nice to have a much cleaner UI to work with.

Main game is absolutely bloated with side quests configuring of "Go here, talk to people, use witcher sense, fight monster/group, get reward".

It breaks the pace a lot and can make the game boring at times, and can be overwhelming with a huge list of sidemissions if you're a completionist.

However, the combat is okay and it doesn't have level scaling, also has new game +. The main quest is really good and you do feel like you're on an adventure with your bros/bitches/daughter-fu. Your choices can impact certain sections of the game and how the world reacts to you, and there's a shit load of content. Apparently each DLC is the length of a regular full-fledged game, so expect an extra 20 - 40 hours on top of the main game for each DLC. It took me 80 - 100 hours to beat the main quest and do all side missions/contracts in the main game.

If you want a huge timesink action RPG then Witcher 3 is bretty good.

I m actually looking forward to the option of upscaling lower level enemies they added in the latest patch.
Haven't finished the game despite having sunk dozens of hours into it mostly due to that, constantly worrying about where to go as to not miss anything made everything way too easy combat wise, that and constant post release support (patches & expansions) pushed me into waiting until now to get into it again.

Linux version when? I cleared it and decided not to replay it because I had to render @ 720p to get 60ish fps. Looked great but a lot of scenes were sullied from being so low res for me.

I was more interested in a witcher hunting monsters and dealing with the killing off of his quarry then high political intrigue.

I don't think he's super-powered or anything, he's just considered the greatest living Witcher because he's the super good at his job. He's like the witching world's equivalent of Michael Phelps to swimming, except Geralt's prime lasts for a fucking long time because of the mutations.

He wasn't more mutated, in fact it's implied the mutations were not as effective on him as normal, leaving him with some semblance of emotion whereas most witchers get theirs almost completely suppressed.

I played the Risen games, but not the first one which people said was the best. They always seem to give the sequels shit for not being as good as the first, but since I didn't play the first I thought the sequels were solid games on their own that did some interesting things I didn't see in other RPGs & the humor, although hit & miss, gave me a few chuckles.

Provided you don't want to start them right away, they're end game material. You'll finish the game close to Lv30 and HoS recommended level is 32. If you play in Death March, it can be unforgiving even if you are overleved. I'm Lv40 and got OHKO aloha snackbar'ed by the new Rotfiend types.

Anyway, just played a bit of the DLC. The menus got seriously reworked; stuff like equipment and skill tree are almost entirely new and the map menu has tons of new filters.
One minor thing that bugs me is that there's still no markers for character entries that are updated; it's pretty difficult to keep tabs on that.
Only got to find the d.l.C. handkerchief so not much to say at the moment besides that I found those knights amusing in their naive adherence to ideals.

I think Gaunter and Ciri are on completely different levels. Ciri has access to incredible powers that allow her to manipulate time and space, whereas Gaunter is as old or older than time itself.

I've played a few hours of the new expansion, here's my thoughts.

Pros

- Toussaint looks beautiful, overall, especially at night in certain places.
- A lot of funny or amusing moments
- The amount of content is ridiculous, I've got about 20 new quests from the notice boards alone
- The boss fights so far have all been good

Cons

- The newly added mechanics are mostly just gimmicks that change nothing, huge disappointment
- A lot of the grandmaster witcher armors look terrible, Manticore and Ursine are about the only good ones
- The new Skelige gwent deck is pretty bad and by the time you've got anything resembling a viable deck built, you've got about 3 people left to play against

To sum up, it's great if you loved the rest of the game, but it probably wont change your mind if you didn't, unless you really like vaguely french knights being overly chivalrous.

Lorewise she's really weak

Heavily lawful characters like Gaunter are seriously underutilized. There's huge potential for interesting characters and stories in types that are rigorously bound by some specific code.

Since the stone age women have slept with each other while their husbands are off to war or otherwise gone for long periods of time. It helps to prevent serious degeneracy like cuckoldry, bastardy, and single parenthood.

There's 5 Grandmaster Witcher armors you can find diagrams for and have crafted. Griffon, Feline, Ursine, Wolven and Manticore.

When you ask about it to the armor smith, Geralt says something about the Manticore school being one he knows very little about that's from far to the east.

It's the armor you see in a lot of the trailers, and the new title screen.

The city is large and cramped but it's only a short walk to the countryside and from it you can see other towers and castles on hills in the distance. It's really, really beautiful. Having a medieval village to call home that still incorporates modern medicine and technology in invisible ways would be lovely.
