Are there any games that try to be deep but are also genuine?

are there any games that try to be deep but are also genuine?
nowadays everything is a deconstruction, or ironic, or is too afraid to come off as cringy and instead drifts off into humor, or all of the above.
hell, even that shitty deviantart VN served as an unfiltered look into someone's mind.

In our modern culture, if you put genuine effort into anything you'll be called a tryhard or an autist.
If you try to put your genuine emotions inside something you've worked on you'll be called cringy.

So people stopped trying, they try to tell the player their emotions but using very complicated multiple layers of irony and jokes in order to try and present what they really feel in a way that will be more difficulty to criticize by the average hyper edgy ultra jaded short attention span modern person.

Everyone is to blame for this state of affairs, including Holla Forums.

deep story in a video game need to have a deep gameplay that transliterate the story from writing form to an active form

telling a harsh grim story need to have a harsh grim gameplay to go with it
so in industry that want no good gamepaly "thanks to the men in suits "
we will never have deep stories bud

forgot pic

Well there was this rpg that both criticized and celebrated the level up slaughterhouse mechanic. But Holla Forums will crucify you and shitpost your thread to oblivion of you mention it.

pathologic.

World of Warcraft?

Unfortunately true. No one respects a genuine effort anymore, especially not here.

But at least we can respects these trips.

And its criticism was backwards pants-on-head-retarded shallow cockamamie nonsense.

Yes. All this. It's why I try not to be jaded and take things for the value they are presenting.

I think there is also an issue of people having very unaffected lives. Like most people I talk to that are younger than 25 simply have never experienced intense emotions or crisis situations. They've taken no risk, suffered nothing, and generally lived a life of apathy. Everyone is always "depressed" and shit.

It's really strange to me, since my life experience tells me that things like getting in a fight for your life, getting your heart broken, dealing with the untimely loss of loved ones, are things that we all have to deal with. For various reasons, such as at least older generations passing on, or your dick getting you so horny you try to go for girls out of your league and you get shot down. Or standing up for your honor when someone tries to punk you.

Apparently no one deals with any of those anymore.

Also why the fuck is everyone so short these days? I used to think 6 ft was average (at least when I was in highschool). Now 6ft is apparently tall. Why do so many guys weigh less than 180 lbs? And the ones that don't are only heavier because they are fat as fuck. When I was a kid the only fat kids were anomalies or because both parents were fucking swollen ticks.

What the fuck is going on?

For the most part Metal Gear was like that, and you have people whining about it.

...

You left your name on.

The only real explanation is that noone really has crisies anymore. Everyone is just well off enough to not experience homelessness and everything is too safe to experience loss. Noone can feel emotions anymore, and the emotions they do feel are just simulated through the media (games, movies, ect.). Everyone is jaded because either they have none of the emotions, or are too overloaded with those emotions to care. Desensitiation(?) Is a real thing, and it happens with more than gore too. The reason we have so many degenerates is because of this desensitisation. They watch too much vanilla porn and have to go to more extreme shit. Same with emotions really. They watch one too many sad dramas and then you get todays society.

Dark Souls
Bloodborne

...

dark souls maybe

but bloodborne missed a fucking golden opportunity

if they add a mechanic that allow for more secret combo and extend combos based on how much insight you have
that will translate the story even better to the gameplay

why they didn't do this the lazy fuckheads
why

with some "deep elderish combos" hurting you or stop sapping hp and instead sap even more insight that will hurt you even more

why they didn't do that why?
why ?

Neo-scavenger, the bad side is that it is another survival game that makes exscuses to make the player die like overpowered wild dogs or combat RNG

+
these combos build up frenzy

it will be perfect
just perfect

Pathologic. You live 12 days in a strange town overrun by a disease, and the only way to struggle is race against time talking to its numerous, very complex inhabitants, unearthing secrets, disentangling webs of deception and learning about an entire mythology as everything is a mix of the grounded and the mystic.

It's like a good book, except it's better by also being a good game with survival gameplay, sordid atmosphere, and fighting.

Which?

Check Ice Pick Lodge games. Beyond Pathologic which this user recommended, there's also Turgor.

Persona stands as proof that you don't have to compromise gameplay, humor or fanservice to convey a brilliant story and serious message.

Talos Principle

Was just going to post this.

You're damn right they don't. Who needs to deal with things in the real world when you can just jump on the internet for a couple hours and get all the emotional satisfaction you could ever desire, simulated for you.

hello val long time no see :3

Isolation. Ivory towers. "Safe spaces". It's a culture designed to genocide the white race. Life's joys and mysteries are being erased by evil men who want civilization to die.
