So I just tried that stat tracker program that is apparently allowed by SOE.
It has a few different mods for it like a static crosshair in the middle of your screen, multiple voice packs for getting killstreaks and shit, different looking stat huds and a few others.
After starting it for the second time it automatically opened a web page to the ps2 news which I can see will get annoying.
You can't move the hud around(as far as I could find) but it does come in different "sizes" and by sizes I mean less and less information windows.
The program itself was really slow and buggy(navigating was a pain and half of the time I clicked on something it wouldn't work).
All of the stats that it tracks gets sent to their database so that you can view them later and view other people who have used it.

They're going to tell you to go Medic/Engineer and max the class tool but squads are nothing but those and you'll end up fighting for getting the resurrect first.

It's good for fighting around corners and hallways, but you're right. It's shit compared to the Lasher or MCG due to both of those still being somewhat useful at midrange.

its shit compared to anything, the saw is better in close range as it has an incrementally longer ttk but is effective at all ranges, doesnt have to be pumped, has 10x the amount of bullets in a clip and has useful attachments

railjack and reaver also stink

first grip and 1x/2x optics for the LMG then gradually upgrade one of the shields
standart one is cheaper, weaker, but more reliable
the DMG reduction shield is expensive and okay for meatgrinders with medics around and mid-range engagements
the adrenaline shield is for when you´re REALLY good at shooting
laser sight and 1x optics on your Light Assault carbine then grenade bandolier
LA is less about shooting straight and more about positioning
get the SMG from the OP webbum for the Engineer, upgrade repair tool
learn to use the standart side-arm and invest in the deployable motion scanner for the Infiltrator, most XP you´re gonna be getting will be from passive spotting assists, hacking and finishing off wounded with headshots near-point blanc I hope you like them metal gears son

Neither PS2 nor Shitterwatch is an arena shooter, the title arena shooter is for games where you are forced to start with the exact same weapon loadout as everyone else when spawning and need to pickup better stuff in the map to kill eachother more efficiently. EG the pistol/fist in Doom, the enforcer in UT or the chaingun/gaunlet in Q3. And yes, Quake Life stopped being an arena shooter because of loadouts, fucking casuals.

I've been having fun playing it for about a week, i'm pretty sure everyone else in the outfit that still regularly plays it (and isn't burnt out) is still having fun.

There's not really any p2w at all, it's entirely pay2skipgrind, since anything you can buy with money is obtainable ingame (the highest priced items in the entire shop are only 1000 certs, which takes about 2-3 days to acquire).

It's a little hard on beginners since you pretty much are forced to learn how to read combat situations in order to do well, but most of the TR's default weapons are top tier in their respective categories (all but the sniper & shotgun), so you don't need to cert into weapons at all.

The other autist, i wasn't on at the time so i don't know his name but the webm was a still of a TR HA/max

I would say so. The TR starter weapons are all solid. Its not like you need to cert all characters out but just focus on the class you like most. when you feel comfortable with said class,you should start thinking about new weapons

I can believe this. Most of us seemed more interested in just playing for fun while it was on a double XP week and not bothering too much with strategy. I know I didn't expect to play this for more than 2 weeks because I always get bored after coming back to it. Don't spend your certs on weapons when you first start out, all of the starter weapons (except for the sniper, but there's a really cheap sniper that's decent) are incredibly good. You also get a free cert refund at level 15, it affects everything except for weapons if you choose to use it.

So what's the deal with the wall hacks claim? There was nothing like that going on when I was playing earlier, did some user go full retard or are they just making shit up?

Is there a way to apply a weapon's attachments universally? Getting tired of clicking every single pistol in each loadout slot for every class to add the flashlight to them.

Telling him to upgrade the engineer / medic tools may not be a good idea when squads are nothing but engineers and medics. Supply for medics (people with maxed mediguns) is massive while the demand for them (people dying) isn't nearly as big and he'll end up fighting over revives when he could be shooting tranus instead.

I meant it more as a "these are the things you should upgrade before you cert into weapons" sort of things. Application would vary sure, but repairing/healing & reviving are some of the fastest out-of-combat cert gains.

One thing i neglected to mention that actually IS potentially useful in gaining certs when there are a lot of medics is revive nades. If you're in a massive fight and a huge number of people get downed, you can chuck a revive nade for an easy ~2-3k experience, assuming nobody else does.

The default TR repeater is one of if not the best sidearm in the game. The NS Commissioner is also viable (very accurate, three shot kill & 95% damage headshots). There's a full auto NS pistol that has essentially the same stats as the repeater, trading firerate for full auto (not worth).

You get 50 nanites per minute. Grenades & other consumables also use nanites, you can see how much those cost if you go to equip them.

Bind convenient keys to pitch. Unless your mouse sensitivity is high enough, you'll never achieve the smooth pitching rate with using your mouse than you will with keys.

Also bind a key to analogue throttle. Analogue throttle is basically hard air brake under a deceptive name.

To turn/reverse quickly, air brake, roll and pitch in the direction you wanna go. This is also a nice way to attempt to shake off fighters that are trailing you close behind.

If you really have trouble with lockons, buy flares.

Taking down large columns of tanks at once is only viable if they're all too retarded to have brought some AA and you keep moving so you don't get lol'd out of the air by an AP cannon. In general you should be going for stragglers.

Stay a safe distance away from enemy Liberators or Galaxies if you wanna dakka at them, as they can ram you without dying and the front cannons on Liberators are quite powerful (so are the bottom ones, for obvious reasons, and a nice lib pilot will try to angle them up so they can shoot at you and instakill you).

Couple extra tips:
Bind your enter/exit key to something other than E for piloting aircraft. (You can still have it set to E for everything else)

When landing, be careful with control inputs. If you're pressing a directional key at the same time you hop out, the vehicle continues using that input for 2-3 seconds without you in the vehicle. This typically results in the aircraft flipping itself over. Probably the #1 cause of frustration amongst new pilots.

Speaking of shotguns, which is the best TR one? I've been using the stock FA1 Barrage and really like it, but wondered if there's better options.

I trialed the uppercut, and when I put slugs in it I was able to one shot people from full with a headshot
