Gawker sold a stake in the company to Columbus Nova Technology Partners to bolster its finances in the wake of the Hogan trial, they were fined $140m ($10m out of Denton's own pocket), and they've got a lawsuit from a former Yahoo employee coming up straight after Hogan's is done. They were also estimated to be worth $250m in 2014.
