I like it. It runs circles around Infinite in every way.

Name one thing that you think Infinite does well and I'll explain how Bioshock 2 does it better.

They don't…?

The only ones that hate this game are MUH TWEEST faggots from the first game totally ignoring the gameplay improvements and Levine drones. Both should be ignored.

i like it, drilling the enemies was fun

It was the start of the tide of multiplats that shat it up on PC with false widescreen FOV for about 6 months, SecuROM and shitty card support. Game itself wasn't all bad but it was wrapped up in a load of trash.

Bioshock 2 is just as shit as infinite, But bioshock 1 was ok.

The series was meh.
I only played it for Elizabeth.

okay, anyone coming to the thread to shit on it please tell us WHY you think its shit.

I like it because the "tower defense" but not really parts where fucking awesome, you get to run around the level and set traps and turrets and shit to prepare for an epic battle where you have a guerrilla warfare-esqe home field advantage.

fuck the teleport splicers, but it was satisfying to outwit them even though they are retarded, made me feel smug as an anime girl.

They went full shooter with bio2.

This. I want more games where being a parent is more than a cheap way to tie some irrelevant character to the PC. I want more of this choice-consequence mechanic. Teach the little ones how to deal with the world by being a role model.

Why even make art of the character if you're going to embellish parts, why not just make a different character who actually canon has the tits you want to draw?

So? It wound up being one of the best modern single-player FPSs, not to mention having the best story out of all 3 Bioshock games.

Elizabeth is just a slut. I liked her design better before they made her tits smaller though, like in the original teaser trailer.

I've never seen a game that's let you have that many daughterfus, on top of having your True Daughterfu as well

almost no ammo for guns.

Drill & rivet gun were the most satisfying weapons to use in that entire series.

the double barreled shotgun was ace in bioshock 2. all the guns in that game ruled.

...

Post Eleanor, she a qt

the big daddy has bomberman's face
can't unsee

...

The series was shit.

No.

This, post more Eleanor since i don't have any. Also proofs that a single independent wymmin can't raise a child

Only problem I had with number 1 was that Jack is a 'strong silent type' even before the vocal surgery
and that's not how DNA works nigger

Infinite had open arena to fight in for the most part.

Bioshock 1 atleast felt like system shock 2 in a way. I enjoyed it for what it was, but nothing will ever be as good as SS2.

I never plated System Shock and I still think Bioshock 1 was shit. I actually like the setting and the setup but not the gameplay or how the story is told.

To be fair Bioshock's strength was never in it's gameplay, it's in the story. Take away the story and it's a fairly generic shooter with a hacking minigame.

What didn't you like about the story?

if faggots wanted a story they should read a book/VN or watch a movie.

...

why template threds?

I see this shit everyday and I wonder the same thing. It's really annoying when looking for artwork when some parts of a picture are nice, but then they completely fuck up some parts that don't fit the established character image at all. Fucking artists.

I feel like a camera man in B-movie. I hated the not-cutscences. I have no idea why the character is a silent protagonist if you hear him speak in the opening.

The moral dilemma is poorly presented:
1) You have no idea why Adam is important.
2) You have no idea of the value of Adam.
3) You have no idea how much more Adam that you will get from the spine breaking.

user, stop.

I've never really seen anybody hate on it, they mostly just ignore it. I enjoyed it quite a bit, can't really offer any actual analysis though. My only complaints would be it's too short and the drill dash is way too effective.

I have finished BioShit 1 & 2, and I have no idea wtf you are talking about, didn't pay any attention to lore and 2 is better

People become addicted to Adam to the point where their bodies need it to continue living, that's why the become Splicers (as well as healthy dose of insanity)

Also you can just kill one then save one to compare Adam

did you even play the game goyim

It probably gets more hate on Holla Forums than it deserves because normalfags praised it like the second coming of christ when it's just a solid 6/10.

The gameplay is too easy, you're swimming in resources, the ai is retarded and there's no penalty for death.

That said hacking was fun and the plasmids were creative and interesting to fuck around with.

...

Too easy and too much waiting around for the little sister to do her thing while you just sat their with your thumb up your ass popping enemies as they came to you like shooting gallery ducks.

The only semi-strong element first game had was writing. No, not the plot, but word bullshit. It's gone now.
First game's plot was a poorly executed high concept. This game's plot is a b movie sequel where you get to be an uncorrupted cosmic monstrosity because player empovernment :)
It ruins everything and is bad enough for the whole game to be trashed, yes, I mad. Psychic loli additions are baffling. YOu really want to continue the first game this way? THat's fucking bullshit. It pisses over the 6/10 plot first game had. fuck you fuck everything and everyone who worked on this, no actually kill the retards because then we wouldn't have gone homo either FIUGOPAEFJL KTNEWDGKLS

Gameplay? MUH BETTER GAMEPLAY
NO YOU IDIOT
ITS SAME SHIT BIOSHOCK GAMEPLAY
FIRST GAME WASNT A ROUGH GEM
IT WAS OUTRIGHT SHIT
YOU CANT POLISH A TURD

TERRIBLE LEVEL DESIGN
TERRIBLE FPS
RETARDED DRILL REALLY CHEAPENS THE EXPERIENCE
Oh, so this clunky shitty animation that does unrealistic damage is the feared weapon from first game? …woah… wow… fuck off.

IT's a literal rehash with nothing really new or improved in engine. A cheap cash grab.

It's utter shit with nothing interesting except sea floor scripted sequences and even those were done better by swedish indie devs in SOMA even though it was a bad game.

If you wanna play bioshock, you play first one so you know what normalfags like, you favorite link to mathewmathosis critique of infinite to butthurt casuals. Bioshock 2 is irrelevant cashgrab rehash nobody should care for whatsoever. It has nothing to offer to anyone with any taste.

confirmed for didnt play both games if you dont think that the level design is better.

the gamplay may be a polished turd but to me the highlight is physically interacting with the world(luring enemies into a puddle, making makeshift wall of fire out of an oilspill, setting up trap bolts ect) and the epic boss fights you get to prepare for(planning out a route to agro a big daddy down, preparing by getting ammo and shit out of the regular game, hiding from splicers instead of killing them so they will take agro and do some damage) is ALL improved upon from 1, you can set traps and interact with the environment in more ways, you can use enemies to your advantage in more ways, you can (and will) fight the big sister in more ways sine they can do more things then big daddies could.

can you name other games that can do all those things? probably. but are those good things and does 2 do it better then 1? fucking yes.

The story was okay-ish, the first game could have been good if it was PC exclusive. 2 and Infinite are just trash.

Is bioshit 2 better than 1? I remember when I was like 16 and tried bioshlock for the first time, enjoyed myself for an hour or two, and then realized that the game was shallow as fuck and pretty unfun in general. Is the combat better, is mostly what I'm asking, cause you had a lot of options but none of them were that satisfying to use, and there was very little enemy variety.

2 plays a lot more tactic with the several methods to prepare traps before a big fight. If you like that you'll enjoy 2 a lot more than 1.

That sounds way more what I was hoping for out of the game. I'll consider trying it

The first was too fucking tedious so I didn't even follow the storyline, Infinite was just too fucking streamlined.

I liked 2, honestly. I mean, I can see all its flaws, I can acknowledge them, but i still find the game overall really fun. I guess I just have shit taste

2 had flaws but it was better than 1.

Bioshock 1 was a dumbed down System Shock II.

Bioshock II went and did something different, tightened up the combat and had an actually interesting father/daughter dynamic. It also dropped said daughter next to you later on the game to fight alongside. She could and did murder entire rooms on her own.

I played the shit out of the multiplayer, got to level 50 then rebirthed and got level 50 again, all for a golden bucket cosmetic.
A very fast paced game for its time, although it's pretty much dead now.

Holla Forums hates it cause hipsterism

stopped reading there

bioshock 2 is the better game, bioshock 1 only exists to set the mood for 2

I only played the first two so I can't speak to the new one.

The first one was decent but not amazing or anything, and the second one felt like a cheap expansion instead of a proper sequel. The thing that really got me on these was how few enemies there were; it was basically male splicer, female splicer, the splicers with the hooks, and big daddies. And then the magic (whatever it was called) didn't have visual changes when you upgraded it like the weapons did.

Not bad games, just "meh"

I really enjoyed bioshock 2, both the gameplay and story. That perk/tonic/whatever-they-were-called that restricted you to the drill and hacking tool in exchange for enhanced adam/mana/whatever was the best time I ever had playing a mage-knight type character in a game. Definitely better than infinite, that's for damn sure.

Protecting cute little demon girls as a monstrous father figure as you traverse an underwater house-of-horrors as a faceless, voiceless, frankenstein's monster with a heart of gold (assuming you saved the little girls, user) mage knight trying to save his adopted demonic daughter was a fun setting.

The personal progression from a defunct prototype to an unstoppable killing machine felt pretty cool as well. For those who haven't played this yet I would recommend using the drill specialist tonic (I think that's what it was called anyway) and obviously putting it on hard, like you should be doing for every game.

Exploring the city wasn't as interesting.
Levels where really linear in comparison to 1.

What do you mean by "open arena"? I didn't find anything about Infinite that resembled Quake.

Apparently, when Elizabeth travels to a different universe, everyone from the previous universe merges with the current universe. People who died in the previous universe become confused in the current universe because they're still alive. How the fuck does this make any sense?

BS2 is the best game in the series; anyone who disagrees either:
1. Never played it
2. Is a hipster faggot that has worse taste than cuckchan /a/ and probably liked Infinite

That was supposed to be from merging two branches or something. It makes more sense if you've used something like Git before to make an analogy with. But none of Infinite makes any sense. Its narrative and character motivations are a retarded mess.

holy shit the captcha is actually readable now

I'd rather recommend saving that playstyle for a second run. Can't set up as amusing rube goldberg traps without the rivet gun and using splicers as wall decoration with the speargun is also fun.

goty

I have two copies of this game and have still never played it.

These blog posts provide a decent example of one point of view about why they hate the game. Basically, the blogger is a dumb motherfucker who got swept up in the reddit hype, where all the mainstream game press was absolutely in love with Infinite and hailed it as a GOAT masterpiece. They lashed out at Bioshock 2 for being "soulless" or some nonsense, basically they just hate it because Levine had nothing to do with it.

Another major point of view were Holla Forumsirgins who hated the first Bioshock for any number of reasons, and so when the sequel came out they just hated it even worse. For years, trying to seriously discuss Bioshock on halfchan Holla Forums was pretty much impossible. Eventually though, people just stopped caring and it slowly became possible to have threads about it, and then when Infinite came out the first two Bioshocks were seen in a much warmer light. I don't think any of the people who hated the first two really care enough anymore to bother shitposting about it.

If the dev team for B2 had been given the budget for more new assets, everyone would have loved it.

As it is, considering they basically had to build a new game with B1's parts, they did a great job, and in my opinion bettered the first game in every way.

Then Levine basically took their story, added muh dimensional racism, pumped a bunch of money into voice and art, and collected accolades

the ONE plot point that I thought was nice in infinite was when the resistance movement essentially turns into a genocide spree as the niggress leader is about to murder a child
it was a decent way of showing that corruption and evil can come from anywhere, even the underdogs when the power is placed upon them
but I've heard rumors here and there that Ken Levine himself has said shit to discredit that part
I would not be fucking surprised in the slightest, but I haven't found any proof of it

typical redditor template thread.

System Shock 2 is just better.

Elizabeth is so fucking ugly holy shit, why do people like her?

Nigger, what? You're told through the voice-diaries what Adam is, what it does and how valuable it is, and the very second the concept of saving or killing Little Sisters comes into play you're told that killing them nets short-term benefits (more Adam) while saving them nets long-term benefits (exclusive plasmids at the cost of lesser immediate Adam gains).

You either didn't play the game or you played the game totally and completely deaf. Christ, even if you played it deaf or are deaf there's not much excuse because of subtitles.

Look I'm no Sigmund effin Freud but the Bioshock series tells me Levine has some serious Woody Allen level pedo/incest issues going on.

1st - is ok. Big daddy-little girls
2nd- Same little Girl is nubile teenager you wanna fuck- Are you still her daddy?
BS:I - Girl is a big titted waifu– but you only find out she's your daughter at the end? Seriously what if Booker and her fucked during the adventure? Not unlikely in that scenario.
Burial at Sea: Same again but even worse. Now your daughter is a femme fatale to the MC (whom you're supposed to ID with). WTF is going on here?

I was talking about the first choice. Most people pretty much just stick to the first choice.

I liked the spear gun way more than the rivet gun.

Did you play the DLC for Infinite?
I went in blind and felt disgusted, like a george lucas tier retcon, when they explained that away as that duo of dimension hopping fuckwads telling her that she had to sacrifice herself to make elizabeth mature or some shit. Not even kidding. Like all of that was a selfless act to force elizabeth to kill her. That and the DLC made elizabeth responsible for everything in the original bioshocks too.

holy fucking shit really?
I never touched the DLC so I had no idea
well thanks for confirming it for me then
I'll be busy throwing up now

It had atmosphere but otherwise it's a shit game, the plasmids were alright but they were more of an exuse for the devs to be lazy with ammo placement

geez i guess why

It isn't set in post apocalypse. The world outside Rapture is perfectly fine.
Rapture itself is hilariously badly developed that its amazing. The city supposedly still functions despite being run over with murderous psychopaths, junkies and kiddy diddlers. There are only a handful of "sane" characters who act like the city is functioning with Atlas wanting to "rule" it despite it having practically no manpower and nonspliced humans whose sole purpose is exposition.

Not to mention its based around ADAM which is an extremely finite resource with no way to renew it as nobody reproduces but somehow there is an infinite amount of splicers roaming about. Seriously the backstory is some of the worst in any medium topped only by shit like Dark souls.

Only Infinite and storyfags hates it, if we only consider the people that exclusively played the Bioshock series.
The gameplay, customization and combos were the best of the three games. It put gameplay and fun on top of story focus and other pretentious bullshit.
Plus Minerva Dem was the perfect junction of story and good gameplay.

someone didn't understand it

muh deepest lore

sounds like you still don't understand it

your first criticism is spot fucking on, I never felt like I was ever in a functioning city despite all the characters referencing it like I was just experiencing Rapture on a bad day
that being said Fontaine didn't want to rule Rapture, he wanted the advanced tech it had created to bring it to the surface and con more suckers
and your final point makes you seem kind of retarded since the entire point of the little sisters is to naturally produce and extract adam

The way little sisters are used they are non renewable.
Lets assume that after Rapture went to shit and even if all the little sisters didn't age(which they do) the splicers fucking kill the sisters to harvest their ADAM. The splicers don't reproduce and despite the game's references to surface children abduction there is no facility or personnel to make more new little sisters.

To elaborate more on the little sisters point. Splicers can't get out of rapture to abduct little girls at a renewable rate. The second game features shows you how a Little Sister is created but the only scientist who was doing anything is dead and you end up saving only dozen of them in a supposedly functioning city.

Also if Fontaine wanted to get to the outside world ever he wouldn't have spliced himself to the degree he did as the end boss.

up until the ending of 2 there is
the second after the little sister problem was handled in the events of the first game scientists got back to work on making and even improving on the little sisters
otherwise I guess you'd be right, and the entire population is just coasting off the surplus.
its not like any of those junkies are smart enough to realize their instant gratification will run out anyway

Which scientists? The one who were insane from splicer use or the ones killed by other lunatics?
The only scientist you see in the game is a dead one.

>>>Holla Forums

you got me there
they kind of fucked up his character at the end to necessitate a final boss
I don't think he ever even touched the stuff before then

by the time Subject Delta gets around to getting there yes they're either a bunch of corpses or a giant, crazy worm fish
but by that point they had already produced a moderate amount of little sisters to populate the city
call me out if I'm wrong but I think the newer models also didn't age either

Wasted potential and took itself WAAAAAAAY too seriously. Oh and probably pissed off a lot of System Shock fans, which is understandable.
I liked the first two games well enough, but I can digest most shit without a problem. Infinite had glimpses of fun in it, especially during the first couple of air-rail segments until you realize that most of the game is on rails and (ironically) you riding air-rails in an arena is the most freeplay you'll get get out of this corridor shooter.

WEW

Suchong dies in Bioshock 1 not 2.

Post source on that E.T costume.

I need a good fap

What's with all these anons that can't write nor spell?
Been seeing a lot of them lately.

Gilbert Alexander took the reins after his death

Infinite also suffers from Spore levels of "what could have been" syndrome, which is what makes it even worse

sorry, no idea

Nevermind, found it.

efukt.com/1791_E.T._Alien_Sex_1.html

what?

Gilbert Alexander's entire existence depends on the belief that Rapture itself is a functioning city which isn't at all the case as depicted in both games.

the fucker that was in charge of most of the big daddy production
he wasn't the main scientist involved with the sisters, I forgot his name since you only find like one damn log from him, but Gil was pretty much the top scientist in rapture after Suchong's death and headed most of the research before getting mutated into a crazy blob thing

why is incase such a cluckfaggothomosexual?

I guess I see what you're saying there, and you'd be right, but I'd reckon it's the other way around even if the games themselves were shit at showing you that the city was in any kind of functioning state, since Gil does in fact exist.
It's shit storytelling, but technically I'm right
