Thoughts on these series?, are they worth the time?

Thoughts on these series?, are they worth the time?.

They're fun but I'm pretty sure that building any sort of halfway decent deck that has good code synergy requires massive amounts of time and autism.

I really liked the first battle network. I didn't quite maintain interest after that though. Not sure why.

Not really. All you need is gamefaqs and cheat codes.

B-but that's wrong user!

Skip the first Battle Network and yes, the series is well worth playing. MMBN1 isn't bad either, but with how stunted the Net is it feels like half of the game is missing, at least in comparison to the other games.

They also skipped straight from Battle Network 3 to 5 in the numbering, strangely.

B-b-but then you miss out on the story!

Nigga you better believe this shit is worth your time.

Absolutely. Great series with a great ending.

Avoid battlechip challenge though.

Hey welcome to deck building games!

MMBN2 is barely connected to the first one though

3 is still the best

Repeat this with a different friend every time and you have Star Force's story in a nutshell. Not like the other ones don't follow this formula but it gets really grating in Star Force 1. Still worth playing though.

>Introduce Battle Network to Asian friend
>He won't stop giggling whenever the protagonist is mentioned
>Turns out Lan means cock in some languages

I think that's why they dropped the code system for Starforce. It's probably for the best. The Navi Customizer being replaced with a menu: NOT for the best.

BN4 was the first game in the series to use Lan's homepage as a teleport nexus. It also had NPCs with their own stories that advanced as you moved through the game, and some of them were funny.
It also had the best Navi Customizer music (embed related). And sometimes the bad translation was so bad that it was unintentionally hilarious.
Uh, let's see… The story has some ties to BN5's story, so you might want to play for that? …That's all I got for devil's advocacy. It's unquestionably the worst in the series.

Wow, so BN4 did have some good ideas besides the soul system.

Yeah i guess

Lan jacking into things must have caused him to lose his sides

There is always SOMETHING good in the worst games of the series, I mean hell Dark Souls 2 had the power stance and making dual-wielding viable. Still I would reccomend playing MMBN4 it because it is more Battle Network.

The Battle Network series is excellent. Minus 4. Can't say for Star Force.

4 introduced good concepts despite being a shit game.
Souls are more interesting than styles, since it lets you be flexible instead of doing the same thing for a few hours.

Counter hits are cool and added more skill, it's a shame they lead to multi-hit chips being broken as hell

The Dark Megaman fights were interesting from a mechanical perspective, it was always cool seeing an enemy use the bullshit move you rely on against you.

One thing I hated about 4&5 was how bad dark chips were, in 5 especially. You lose 1hp perminatly, you lose the ability to use light chips and navi chips, and you can't fuse. All for what? An instant win button on viruses that were jokes anyway and an emergency berserk mode? In 5 what really gets me is because of the liberation missions, if your deck relies on dark exclusive chips then you're fucked since your team can't use them. And those chips are literally the only reason I used dark chips, static and bugcannon are really cool (I loved bugstyle in 3).

The only ties it has is I think the villain. I think 4 and 5 have the same bad guy so you wouldn't understand who the fuck he is if you didn't play 4.

No, plus-attack chips lead to multi-hit chips being broken. Double damage applies the same to multihit chips as they do to any other chips. It's chips with effects like "+60 damage" that can multiply the damage of your chips drastically. A vulcan would have its damage multiplied by 7 from a dblpoint.

Still, having to endure 4 to play 5 kind of really sucks.

I'd just skip it. Assume he hates Lan because he hates his dad or some shit. Would fit in the plot just as well as fucking 4 did.

I was referring to multi-hit chips being broken because they can bait out counters easier than single hits, use any vulcan and you don't give a shit about what frames are the correct ones to counter in.

I recommend just beating it once and not bothering with the post-game or collecting all the chips. The main story is about 1/3 the length of a normal BN game because they expect you to beat it 3 times.

I played it for Luna

What would the point of a Net Navi be if we can just search the internet ourselves?

Let's say you're looking for an old ass flash game or obscure porn that you don't ever remember? Having a navi would be like if you could talk to your phone but also your phone remembers that kick ass game you used to play back in like 2007 and knows exactly what you're talking about and it used to play with you that is what a navi is like

I want a vulcan navi.

fuck off millennial cuckphone scum

I had the parrot.

1 is a cool idea, but is considered the worst out of the series because sequels exist
then 6 is like the best
much like megaman.

Except NES Mega Man 6 sucks compared to 4 or 5.
