Time for a "kino" webm thread...

Time for a "kino" webm thread, "kino" is by all intents and purposes when the ""sound and visuals of the film coalesce"" into something so great, that it is ""cinematic bliss"" and therefore ""pure kino"". This is usually due to the direction.

I meant to bold or italic that shit in quotes, guess the FAQ lied to me.

...

For all intents and purposes OP is a memeing retard,

You are no kinoman

>can't bold post
bet you can't even

...

...

𝕗𝕒𝕘𝕘𝕠𝕥

Nah lad I know how to spoiler but I've never had to bold or italic before

That is called ""good cinematography" you flaming faggot, Kino is German and Russian for cinema.

Nigga it has to do with the cinematography, sound effects, sound editing, editing, soundtrack and direction. Not just the cinematography.

You are no kinomeister

prove to me that this isn't the kino of all kinos

lol why is he laughing like a person tho

...

LOTR simply takes a dump for me when it involves mass combat and fugly CGI creatures that could've easily been costumed actors and it would've looked better and not dated the film so much.

I mean I'm one to criticze CG but it used it when it needed to I think, usually just used entire CG armies for the wide shots, otherwise theres a ton of extras as the orcs and uru-kai

I agree that gollum hasn't aged well but besides that I think it looks good

Jackson's LotR looks alright but there are some huge liberties taken with the source material and it didn't really capture the spirit of the books. The radio drama with Ian Holm from 1981 is a far superior adaption.

I know what you mean but its utterly inevitable that any adaption will be different from the source material, and using the Shining as an example one can see how letting the director do his own thing, since he or she is a filmmaker and film has a different necessities, is what filmmaking is all about.

There's reason to be upset but also reason to love what is unique about any film adaptation that is done with love (the example in your picture is surely not that great of something to praise) but in general the tone and atmosphere of LOTR or something done well usually has it's own feel and that is what art is isn't it? film exists as a medium to be original and different and not just the source material verbatim, sure you can enjoy a radio drama or audiobook or reading the book immensely, but the film has to adhere to many thing and often being constrained by time means you just cant do it exactly as it was in the book.

...

...

...

I know that but the issue is with Jackson, he's much more low brow and dumb than the author. In the case of Kubrick he was an intelligent man making an adaption of airport literature. In the case of Jodorowsky he has very interesting ideas of his own and much like Lynch was a good fit with the spirit of the source material.

As such the radio drama wasn't a 1:1 adaption either and it did some things of its own. What I'm criticising is the spirit of the adaption which is vastly inferior in the films.

give it up already user.

I like Tolkien's work but he likes to ramble on about things that are completely unimportant for like 100 pages.

It's a question of tone, not verbosity.

There's some humor that is low brow, with Merry and Pippin and then later some quips with Legolas and Gimli that I despise, but I dont think Jackson's adaptation lacks in spirit. I have criticized him in the past but he did a lot of good things I think and the films do have their own feel separate from the books, but it's still something that you can get into, it just just pulp it genuinely does have a lot of kino moments and things that hit harder when being seen than read, if you can even read them, because some elements coming together on film dont even work on paper or the script

It's always been kino lad, literally nothing about it isnt

not just pulp*

...

The films are very well crafted though. Only fags care about plot.

Stop talking about the books men made the films thats why they are kino

ok linklater, whatever you say.

I hate Linklater, you seem to just have a tissue issue with something, the plot is ever changing alone and the films all are different reflecting that, sorry you dont like them but all the aspects of the filmmaking are done well

Stop being an autistic plotfag. Filmmaking is about audiovisual artistry, do you watch porn for the plot too?

My nigga

I appreciate them for what they are. Just saying that I'm pretty sure Jackson missed the entire point of the story.

Well he and Fran Walsh are to blame equally then, he was a huge fan, so perhaps lots of fans missed the entire point of the story?
What did you think he really missed upon? I mean he tried to encoporate as much of Tolkien as he probably could no? It was a huge undertaking. And it could have been not only a lot worse but a hell of a lot worse. I agree though that he got a little stir crazy after the two towers and return of the king suffers a little. But fellowship alone is a perfect film I think idk

the plot is an aspect of the film-making, jackass. the rest is good, sure, but you can't deny the story is average pleb trash.

Nope it's above average because the world-building alone is better than most (Tolkien obviously has the gold standard) There's nothing wrong with a classic story, many things borrow from literal greek mythology and many myths and stories have similar themes. The story is not trash at all and it is executed well.

...

"Plot" is something that plebs care about though (ie they put all their weight into and can't stop thinking about it), so dont be ironic

mkay tardo

Are you serious bro? Are you that dumb? The tweet is not real one bit. You gotta be smarter than that

you have proof? this is a libtard fantasy world we're talking about, after all, where rowling made a fan favorite gay right after killing him for massive brownie points.

Do you honestly believe everything you see posted on cuckchan?
I really didn't believe all your problems stemmed from this but Rowling has never tweeted about group masturbation. You have to be smarter than that. It's literally a joke.

again, prove to me that tweet wasn't real.

I have common sense and can tell fake tweets from real tweets, prove to me it's real, the proof is not on me or anyone to have to disprove literal shitposting. I would honestly bet my house the tweet doesn't exist. She doesn't talk about sexual things like that graphically, you have to be smarter than that.

If it was real it would have been reported on and not just passed around on a bongo forum

You wanted proof? Don't yell at me for linking to reddit

ebin meme, m'lady

*tips fedora*

I was saging because I didn't need to bump it while telling you that you're a dumb shit. You thought the group masturbation tweet was real, you're dumb as shit.

keep it going laddy, i'm getting hard

LOL

That's true.
I'm not sure how I could condense it into something adhering to the expected brevity of an korean Kinetoscope hobbyist board post. If I would be so bold as to attempt it I'd highlight the most characteristic traits of Tolkien's work when subtracted the mythic mode in which it is written. The two great thematically relevant ones being his deep Christian faith and his lived experience which he brings with him upon writing the story.

There is a certain respect for life and adversity in his work. Many of the hippies that read his books would only grasp the very surface and think it was about environmentalism but there's so much more than that. I think an allegory would be that the books are a visit to a cathedral in ruins with an old veteran. The films are going to an amusement park ride with a nerd.

Why didn't you write about this explicitly and at length in your books, you hack?

...

...

...

This is a great kino for kids tbh.

Absolutely.

...

...

you don't?

Name five good porn plots.

uh lets see.
Mother in law seduces daughters bf under table at dinner.
all girls school with dicks coming out of the walls and table.
Reverse molestation on a bus perpetrated by a female passenger.
Public masturbation leading to some inpromptu petting.
Mom has to jerk her son off cuz his excessive masturbation is hurting his grades.

...

...

...

...

In a manner of speaking, yes. Most porn isn’t filmed by auteurs. What’s important is the content - the girl, and what she’s doing.

Porn is best when its ‘real.’ When some failed director tries to do high-brow shots, its uncomfortable for the actors and contrived.

When did this thread become the 'ironic kino thread'?
Scream 3 is even the worst in the series - it's not even close.

"cinematic bliss", you say?

No-one was posting. Might as well use it for webm dump rather than start a new webm thread.

What did Wes Craven mean by this?

Just saw there is a webm thread up. Apologies.

It didn't, please save my thread and post true kino
