I said this back when FFXIII Lighting Returns was announced. They destroyed a whole generation of Final Fantasy growth. Fans stopped caring and Lightning didn't manage to attract new fans. I was buying every FF game until then, but stopped after FFXIII. Didn't even bother with FFXIII-2 anymore. They thought they could save money buy reusing engine, assets and mechanics and therefore get a bigger profit, but all they managed to do was alienate their player base and destroy their franchise. FFXV will sell. Maybe even well enough to justify the long development cycle, but I doubt that it will be as profitable as it could have been if it wasn't for the PS3 generation Final Fantasy fuck ups.

FFXV has potential, and it looks good, but I can't really trust it. It's been in development hell. And then look at FFXIII. Then there's SE's localization habits.

I played Type-0 on PSP and it will probably be the last FF I'll play. I liked it, but it was missing so much more. If I find a copy of FFXV in a bargain bin or something, I'll probably get it, but not day one, month 1 or even year 1.

They threw away Ivalice too. I loved that place.

If the gameplay is anything like battlefront fuck that. I played the open beta and that was just awful.

Not many people seem to remember that there was a WWI overhaul for battlefield 1942. It was as well made as the desert combat mod, but desert combat was much more popular due to higher tech and more enjoyable to use weapons. Need I explain how large machine guns and helicopters are more fun than bolt action rifles and slow moving tanks. So Battlefield 2 came along and it was in a modern setting in response to the popularity of the mod.

So, yeah, the setting is interesting and not really done in games that much, but what has been done was pretty dull.

Look into Jekyll, I toyed with it last year when I wanted to make a website out of the gitgud repo for better accessibility for normalfags. I hit a couple of hurdle because the repo is dynamic and jekyll is static but for a review site or a blog it is a really nice platform.

I should probably try it again when I get more time this summer.
