The fascists rise to power when moderates (ie, Social Democrats, wealthy trade unions–like the AFL, etc) roll over for them because "revolution and rioting are gonna rock the boat too much."
As much as I hate ISIS-types and Trumpcucks, at least they've recognized there is something deeply and stupidly wrong with the world. They are mistaken about the what, the why, and the how to fix it, but at least they managed to make the first baby step.

Zizek plagiarizes people who are right in this respect, the fascist imagines that the status quo could be good, if only all these commies/jews/etc weren't fucking it up. The martial imposition of normality, or the exceptional use of force is necessary to preserve the refular way of things, basically.
In this sense, the fascist and the centrist have the most in common, they only disagree on the extent that violence is necessary to keep things afloat.
