the problem with youtube is creating an alternative is actually impossible. youtube runs itself at a huge loss, the kind of loss that any ordinary business could not handle. for a long time blip was a solid competitor with a large userbase of popular online celebrities (much fewer videos being uploaded, more views on each), and even blip went bankrupt and closed its doors. there would need to be some kind of revolution in either encoding techniques, bandwidth costs, or internet advertisement for any competitor to actually get anywhere. the most likely competitor to youtube in the near future will be pornhub because of the money they have to burn to even start something like this up, but that's just trading the market from one set of jews to another, not a solution.

It's maddening how much good content got lost when they closed doors. The quality of their contributors, and the site's overall signal to noise ration was worlds above youtube's offerings.
