The thing is, art used to be a respectable thing. The people who made all of these paintings and sculptures weren't just half-assing it. They literally dedicated their entire lives to the study of light and shadow and color and form. They mastered it inside and out. Nobody in the modern world could paint like that anymore because nobody would dedicate their lives to the cause. Liberal SJW types that get "art" degrees have no conviction and no dedication, and they don't care about mastery and skill – only about cheap, easy masturbation.

The perspective, lighting, and shadow is all perfect. The man put an incredible amount of focus into these paintings and paid utmost attention to detail. His artwork is also truer to life than most of his day, as the lack of outlining makes the image closer to reality. Outlining is done to force the eye to recognize something in the way the painter desires. Without it, the artist has to represent things in a way that the brain will automatically recognize them for what they are, rather than simply recognizing an outline.
