To put it simply, the people that care about this didn't decide to use food, crazy language, a strange pizza place and sketchy logos THEY DID. But that's not how newcomers see it, because a newcomer's first impression is that out of all the alleged horror found the people speaking out about this CHOSE 'pizza' as the term to group it all together. They are right in assuming it doesn't add up. Anyone that has any evidence of human trafficking would call it what it is.

If the groups investigating this had their priorities in order they would have used an appropriate name like slavegate, childgate, trafficgate, etc. Children, trafficking and slaves are FACTS at this point of things that are mentioned in the emails and a lot have even been successfully tried in court. Using a name like that would put the focus on what matters, there are people involved in child trafficking and sex slavery being mentioned here and it seems like a lot more are implicated. The priority is established correctly, human trafficking is a real problem and should be addressed. A normal person hears about 'childgate' and they immediately know that something huge is going on. Because of the name they start looking at the CONCRETE evidence first and leave the silly circumstantial things like pizza as final details as they should be.

Anyone is willing to dismiss pizzagate as a conspiracy theory without giving it a single look. NO ONE would dismiss allegations of missing children backed by real evidence and real court cases. I actually think this isn't unique to Holla Forums. There are certain peculiarities that are, but this process sounds very similar to what liberals go through looking for something that will finally stump Trump, e.g. muh Russian hacking, here's how Bernie can still win, the pissgate dossier is totally real guys, etc.
