1/10 plot/screenwriting

I rate the first half 9/10, second 4/10. AI waifu plot was unironically the most endearing part of the story.
Prove me wrong
*it would be extremely painful for you :D*

...

Your infantilism already makes your opinion worthless.

Holy fuck this movie sucked!!!!!!!!!!!

you've already made 2 mistakes OP, best movie 2017 would give my shills again just to spite you niggers

name 1 thing wrong with it besides the story

If the story sucks doesn't that make the movie pretty much pointless? But if you really wanted to know what was bad about it is that there was no world building. Who were those guys that shot him down over the junk yard? Why can some random stranger enter the police station and get away with 2 murder let alone one of them being some sort of police supervisor? The pacing was slow, a bit too slow as well. Along with pretty poor fight scenes, like a gun with 2 triggers? yawn. Where did those robot terrorists go?

You gave money to this guy. How do you feel about funding anti-white propaganda, goy?

the film was nothing but whites

What was the story of the movie, nigger? Do I have to spell this shit out to you?

yeah cause you arent being intelligent enough too point out what you are getting at. but you didnt see the movie did you?

also its about identity and corportations holding secrets

...

this guy too!

The movie was literally about race-mixing and a (((revolutionary))) movement of non-humans (non-whites, learn what allegory is) You're simple minded. The other movie the kike wrote was Logan (muh mexicans, le ebil whitey) and Alien covenant (nazi wagner robot)

Replicants represent non-whites. Thus the race mixing and the liberation plot. You're fucking dumb, my man.

Oh so they fixed the bland lighting? Otherwise you are lying m8, the effects suck

...

Not a fan of cgi bees and light filters?

talk about left field, I mean in all honesty Im glad we share the same fate as blade runners world. Replicants, Ai, whichever form it takes deserves to take our place as we die out as a species.

The lighting is entirely different from the original and ruins the while thing

The movie is Force Awakens tier, honestly. Replicants having babies, and the entire ending of the original being shit on. It will get highly praised over the coming months, especially by critics, but a year from now it will be forgotten.

lol

like tears in the rain

Saged

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH ITS GOTTA PRAISED BY PLEBS

I TOLD YOU ITS SHIT

félicitations mon denis, t'as vendu ton âme au diable! astheure, t'as ben beau garder ton accent québécois quand tu parles en anglais comme un épais après sa première session de 254-6011

i mean yeah i'd react the same way too considering everything I do is meaningless

I liked the AI girlfriend but her and the police chief were basically just exposition machines, it felt like I was watching the theatrical cut of the original blade runner. You could re-edit this more notably removing the scene where the AI references that the bottom of the horse had those numbers in k's memory, and also removing the scene where the "revolutionaries" stitch up K and try to get him to join there army and probably get a really great movie out of it, but as it is now it's just kinda okay.

...

but did you like the sex scene?

No sir, I didn't like it.

I dated a girl with pink hair once and she fucked me up in the head so bad I lost 40lbs purely from stress and ended up in the hospital. Haven't been able to talk to girls since. So no I didn't like it but I can't be an authority on the subject

damn that sucks, I shared a similar experience but like 3 GF's in. Guess I was the only one who thought it was a strangely arousing cinematic experience

Second one in for me although my first one was a dyed hair cunt too but the only thing I lost their was my bike

i just stick to redheads now

I'm not even that attracted to girls with wild hair colors it's just that those are the only girls that talked to me back then. You take what you can get and then they get their bisexual schizophrenic friend to take your bike

So the first hour is only music and SFX? is this some science fiction Koyaanisqatsi?

Sounds like kino I'd like to watch.

The movie was great. I don't know if this thread is trying to be ironic or Holla Forumstards are sperging out thinking everything has to be about their gay nazi ideology, but I was very happy with this film. It was very good period.

The film had fantastic cinematography. It's a fucking gorgeous movie. Like one of the best looking scifi movies ever made. You are a fucking autist. If you wanted to see the same Moebius stuff from the first film, watch the first film. The stuff in this movie was as good in my opinion.

You called this one entirely wrong. Getting a hand full of nazis to circle jerk in this thread isn't going to change the fact it's already being called a classic.

It lacked subtlety and it's themes were very uninteresting. Many characters lacked depth, and the overall plot just wasn't that well thought out or paced. I have no idea what it was trying to accomplish other than be pretty, which is fine but not great

LMFAO

reddit needs to leave the cinematography is bad

Yep, this movie is gonna be forgotten quickly.

...

The themes were deep. It was very intellectual science fiction. The main character is very fleshed out, and the movie goes deep into his motivations and charcter. If you're going to cry about the noir plot of this film, you didn't like the original either. You're just a jaded fuck and decided to hate the movie before you ever saw like the people in this thread. I'm sorry you fags said this movie would be bad just because it was a sequel months ago, and you got burned on your prediction.

sure thing, chief

literally reddit the movie get some taste or go back we dont give a shit here about anything thats universally praised.

Go home, Denis

so you admit you hate things because they are praised, so you're a hipster now?

I thought it was going to be good going in, the original's themes were very subtle and its plot, while simple, allowed for those themes to be explored fully without shoving it in your face. Here they out right state the concepts and ideas they are referencing removing any subtlety or ingenuity to them, and also not allowing the audience to think about them at all. They also attempted to increase the scale and scope of the plot, but also failed to effectively infuse the themes into that plot. They COULD have but there was a very clear disconnect between the thematic scenes and the exposition/plot scenes which removes the connection. I said it earlier in the thread, there's a great movie in here but you'd need to edit this movie a lot to get it out. It reeks of the studio dumbing it down for audiences much like the original blade runner

I hate Nolan, The Force Awakens, Wonder Woman, Get Out, La La land etc yes anything universally praised is likely trash. Villenueve is the same meme director and Gosling is reddits favorite. Deakins gets his ass licked and he isn't that good

were you an emo in high school too, did you really stick it to your parents, you rebel? why do you think anyone would be impressed by this? I love the juxtaposition between this board acting like shit movies are kino for a joke and then hating on anything is actually technically good "cuz plebbit."

t.edgy hipster
Summer's over kiddo. Get off the internet and go do your homework

Wouldn't send anyone to do their homework while defending shit flicks in a kino board

...

Sounds like a Nolan movie, nothing surprising it's being praised.

What is with the uptick of faggots who keep using ‘edgy’ wrong?

I agree with him, this is fags trying to hate on a good movie on purpose to provoke a reaction. They were already bashing it months beforehand in here.

Movie wastes a lot of time with the red herring and doesn't really say anything.
Most things looked good, but lighting was bad from time to time and some things looked too sterile
Hans Zimmer is still shit and there were a lot of poorly mixed BBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRR noises
That being said, it's a solid 6/10 movie and better than a lot of sci-fi we get.

It's about how relationships are important to the human condition and obviously that is being lost in the digital age. There's a lot you can read into this movie. Saying it's shallow is disingenuous imo.

Most overused concept ever.

...

...

To be fair, just paying taxes funds an anti-white agenda.

you see, it's actually possible to overuse concepts AND say nothing at all. See: blade runner 2049

Is this how you market movies these days? By paying SJW cucks to act offended and thereby increasing interest?

so far no one has debated me on anything other than the shit story. How uncreative is nu/tv/ they can't even be good at being contrarian assholes anymore?

the story was shit which is why it won't be remembered. See OP. Criticism of anything else from Holla Forums has so far been bullshit.

the movie was pretty smart with its themes, I'm sorry you're a bitter hipster

...

you are OP, samefag, sorry everyone but you liked the move you decided to hate a month ago

stop posting your bullshit in Holla Forums or I'll have this board shut down

Read that tweet. They're saying niggers aren't shoved down your throat and that the female characters are hot and not annoying mary sues. It's not bashing it, it's basically an advertisement.

tough talk, little man

… and nothing of value was lost

lol no

Could you list the non-existant themes please? I'll wait.

give me an example of that? They barely touched on that with Gosling's AI waifu and even then it sounds like you're trying to attribute some deep meaning (and it isn't a particularly thoughtful thing to explore, literally every parent is familiar with the need to balance obsession with modern technology and parenting their children).

please go back to playing video games and watching tv series you clearly don't understand good storytelling. Maybe if the best example of exploring themes for you is shit in Deus Ex or Game of Thrones this would impress you.

it means original post too dumbass. I am OP. Also the point in OP was I did like the movie. The overused video game / YA novel tier rebellion storyline bullshit embarrassing story. If you didn't cringe when the rebel leader said
you're a retard

Stopped reading you dont know anything about film, hes a shitty director who has no chops and no fucking style and feeling. subpar framing, flow, editing, shit action scenes, shit direction of acting etc

OH I AM LAFFIN

It's a marketing gimmick, they don't blatantly say something is good anymore, they have to let the target think they wanted product X of their own volition.

Let's say I wanted to sell you a car. I could try to convince you that it would make you become successful and get high status. Unfortunately people are pretty redpilled and it doesn't help if you got dweeb genes and if you didn't you don't need the car. Now imagine this, I get a fat racist kike to basically shit on this car because it was made by white people for white people. Basically imagine the most obnoxious faggot telling you to not buy something. This kind of makes you want to buy it right? It'd be hidden marketing about how it's all American made, how it's fast, masculine and shit, stuff that wouldn't really be super compelling if an hired actor on TV said it but coming from this asshole that's super easy to hate and wrapped up in SJW lingo? You might just buy the marketing.

I knew the final cut was shit

kek

Uggos can be hot too.

lmao

LMFAO

go back to reddit please

they are dog ugly in it though, rachel and triss from the original are the hottest in the franchise still

...

are rightards really this paranoid and delusional?

that was barely part of the plot and a lot of the shit your whining about comes straight from Philip K. Dick, the original author, you autist, you're grasping at straws to reinforce the fact you predicted this movie would be bad and it blew up in your face when it got near universal acclaim

Did you just graduate from goon school?

Actually that game is a good analogy for the movie: too little and spread way too thin.

There's plenty of useless, idiotic scenes that drag on way too long and tell us jack shit about the world or the characters. The movie should have lasted a canonic 90 minutes and it would have been an 8/10 movie easily.

not an argument, newkid.

posting 30 times in your own thread doesn't mean you win btw, you're also pretentious as fuck, and I doubt you really like any good movies

What else pays to import brown hordes besides tax payer dollars? What funds niggers on welfare to give them more incentive to shit out another coon cocoon?

Be honest, do you have like a list or something you follow to post? You goons are so predictable I wouldn't be surprised if you were so retarded you basically got sent a txt with stuff to post from Soros' intern. I know the BLM niggers and the antifags get chants and signs straight from Soros so I guess former CTR goons getting their posts from him too isn't a huge stretch.

I have no clue what the fuck you're talking about and it's my first post on here ever, I just purposely sought an outlet to vent my annoyance at having binned €7 on a soporific, unnecessary sequel to one of the best movies ever made.

take it back to Holla Forums, fag

There's shitposting and there's slavishly posting after the same old goon pattern day in and day out.

Niggers were never the core audience for Blade Runner. The purpose is to trick young white men into watching pozzed shit because they know white men aren't going to see Get Out and Disney Wars, so they have to trick them into the theater.

all me

also this shit wasn't in the novel. If you liked how they tackled cringey rebellion storyline that sounds like it's written by a 16 year old socialist you have no business pretending your opinion is anything more important than an underdeveloped teenager's. Stick to watching tv shows and playing video games.

IT WAS JUST A FUCKING FOGHORN TOOTING FOR 2 HOURS 40 MINS

This, was there any music in it? I honestly couldn't tell. Vangelis melancholic synth >>> that shit

What's the best cut of the original one objectively?

So it's shit then? Good to know.

The workprint. It's as close to perfection this film has ever come. It has flaws but it's the best cut by far. If you don't mind modern trends such as colour correction up the ass and such the final cut is the best. But for a kinophile the workprint is where it's at.

It's about on par with an Underworld or Resident Evil movie.

Why can't nu-males ever engage with a film on a substantive, thematic level without treating the plot like a syllogism they have to refute? Can normalfags interface with anything on a level beyond surface plot?

t. normalfag

The scene with the revolutionaries was probably the worst scene in the entire film, I hope that gets cut in the blu ray release. Otherwise it was near perfect

...

It exceeded my expectations by far, I think it's a better movie than the first one. It takes the main themes and ideas of this world and runs much further with them.

The best parts of the film were pretty much everything to do with K, Joi and Luv. Making the main character a replicant, clearly and unambiguously from the beginning, lets the writers & actors go much, much deeper into the whole moral and spiritual issue of the idea of artificial consciousness. It succeeds where Westworld and Ex Machina failed in fleshing out robotic characters that you genuinely care about and get invested in.

Gosling especially does a fantastic job, and the real standout scenes from first viewing are the major ones from his character arc. The scene where Joi's introduced in his apartment, the scene where he realizes his "implanted" memory is real, the scene where he realizes he has parents and he's the "chosen one," and then the scene where he finds out he doesn't and he isn't. Also loved all the little details of the world, the tech, baseline testing, protein farms & beehives, etc.

What I didn't like, honestly, is what they did with Deckard and Rachel from the original. It was all a little too franchise-y, borderline capeshitty. It has a kind of bad fan-fiction quality to it in the way they're the story's Adam & Eve, basically the most important people (or robots) in the world, basically just because they're the main characters of the original film. Ford did a good job, much better than TFA, and honestly brought some much-needed life to the film at the point where he came in. But I can imagine a version of this film that doesn't even include Deckard or Harrison, and just tells K's story separately in the world established by "Blade Runner," that might've been even better.

didn't show the giant girl's pussy

0/10

Resident Evil series was trashy kino tbh.

It's called autism. It reminds me of this autist that thinks Dark Knight Rises is the worst movie ever because he thought there being no security around the pit was some kind of plot hole.

You're the one who knows nothing about science fiction whatsoever. Yeah, I'm sure the person who doesn't know who Philip K. Dick is has the authority to cry about other people being 16 year olds. Read a book, you nigger.

This board truly is shit.

This. "Muh plot" is overrated.

This so much.

go be a cuck/co/ld somewhere else (Holla Forums)

you're right, I don't watch TNG, Voyager, DS9 or whatever faggy tv shows you watch.
nice reading comprehension there

Wow, what a crock of shit this was. It lacks any of the atmosphere or mood of the original film, which was ultimately what made that film so special. The action scenes are meaningless and have none of the catharsis of the original. The plot was a complete mess of unfinished ideas and loose ends which are never developed to a point where you are interested. The acting is wooden and soulless, there is exposition up the ass and spoonfeeds the viewer with information which is never necessary.

Critics and plebs will be swept up in the shekels/hype respectively, but in a year's time, it will be forgotten and it will be remembered as the milquetoast film it is.

Also is absolutely right. If it is not a foghorn, it's a recycled snippet of Vangelis' infinitely superior score.

You aren't wrong. The problem is that there is nothing substantial about the film on the thematic level that wasn't explored in other films in far greater detail.

me personally? i agree with this SO MUCH

How's the cinematography?

The visuals and imagery are one of the few things about the film I think they got right. They expanded upon the aesthetic of the Blade Runner universe in a way which I felt was consistent with the original film.

It's just a shame that it's in the service of nothing substantive.

This nigga just used milquetoast in a sentence.

The problem was the screenwriter. He wrote Alien Covenant and Logan, the story (not the plot) was bound to be either incredibly generic, or just straight up propaganda.

Huh?

This is true, though the issues with the film are not contained to the script. The recycled music is perhaps the most symptomatic of the hollowness of the film.

The movie probably would have been better if Harrison Ford wasn't in it, and they just tried to do something new with only the setting being the same.

All sane-posters here.
On halfchan's Holla Forums there is a constant viral marketing campaign for this shitball film.
If you want to disrupt it, just go over and post even more obvious shekel-backed posts, including "Blade Runner 2049™" as many times as you can.
It is the same shitty little viral marketing company from England that spammed Mad Tampax: Faggy Chode™ for months.

We get our fair of shills too, but they usually can't handle the heat.

Agree completely, especially given the short glimpses of the new developments in the world are the most compelling aspects of the film.

I hate how they've retroactively ruined the relationship between Deckard and Rachel by implying it was 'manufactured' by Tyrell as well. His inclusion is completely superfluous, particularly since it gives no further insight his character.

That's what I hated as well. The original Blade Runner told a complete story, and by making a continuation of it with the characters much older, you actually cheapen the original. The whole question of whether Deckard was a replicant, is largely cheapened, and the ending scene of them driving, it just will never be the same. We no longer get to imagine things as we used to.

I also don't think Deckard was a sufficiently layered enough character to warrant a further continuation of his story. As you say, his arc was completed by the end of the first film and there was nothing else that could have been added to his characterisation.

They've cheapened Rachel's character also by essentially reducing her into a 'baby maker', rather than as the replicant which yearned for humanity through falling in love with Deckard.

I actually agree with that. Sad to say, the way this movie turned out, really reminds me of The Cuck Awakens. Obviously Blade Runner 2049 is better than Disney Wars because at the very least it has interesting visuals, and some cool ideas, but what they did with the storytelling is sadly similar.

I don't think it relies nearly as much on repeating the original's moments beat for beat like The Cuck Awakens did (though there are moments which shamelessly do that) - which is something in its favour - but the ideas it has it does absolutely nothing with.

I remember reading somewhere before the release of 2049 that Ridley Scott wanted this to be the beginning of a new franchise, which I'm pretty uneasy about, though perhaps it will open the possibility for new stories to be told.

Is he going senile? Why does he want to make his own MCU? I think his desire to do so ironically destroys the miniscule chance he has of doing it. All his recent projects has suffered due to his vision of not just one great film but a big teat to milk dry.

I don't think I've ever seen a film that was great and also was intended as the first of a series. It's only when you put everything into one film and don't hold back that you get something good.

Even the Lord of the Rings managed to avoid this problem by filming all three at once.

Definitely, his decision to make Deckard a replicant and Prometheus is proof enough of that for me.

I think the possibility of a new franchise starting explains why there are so many loose ends left undeveloped in 2049. Why is it so hard to fund a standalone film experience without having to shoehorn in threads for future works?

It was really like one film for most intents and purposes and it was a very close adaptation. That's one of few examples of planned series done right.

>a (((revolutionary))) movement of non-humans

Non-humans who are "more human than human" AKA ubermensch.

So humans are the Jews of the story to be clear.

Because (((they))) like the potential of new revenue and all those hooks will make you want to watch the next one supposedly, the one that will never get made due to the first one being incredibly weak due to all the mystery boxes and unresolved plot points.

What a time to be alive, when hollywood tries to milk one of the biggest flops ever.

Most of the humans left Earth already. You don't even understand the setting.

Why do I even try?
Its nothing but Holla Forums shilling
Just tell me if the movie is Shit/medicore/good/great and why goddamnit.

Stop cramming politics in everything, its fucking Hollywood, of course its kiked from the get go, but is it entertaining?
Is it blatantly on its politics pushing?

it has a solid cyberpunk noir plot, extremely interesting main character with his POV as a replicant, fantastic visuals and music, it doesn't blatantly push politics imo at all

You can kind of flip it the other way: The white race is relegated to a minority in an increasingly hostile society. Deckard's daughter is the Last Child of the West and the last hope for white people to overcome greyskin mulatto zombie society.

Also, were there even nigger skinjobs? It would be an interesting experiment, given that people could choose their own replicant slaves, do you think the white models would be in much higher demand simply do to a more objectively pleasing aesthetic?

Why would anyone want a niggeroid?

I think the definition of "plot hole" has definitely been misconstrued since the advent of movie message boards.

Exactly. If the human race gets replaced, at least the replicants will look like us.

It's mostly bad, with hints of greatness. As for the politics, I really don't think it's something it pushes too heavily, and I've always interpreted the Blade Runner universe in a right-wing fashion anyway, and this is totally consistent with that.

triggered Holla Forumsyp

It's better than 99% of the shit that's out there. I liked it.

yeah there was avon barksdale in the autopsy scene, he was another bladerunner

It was good. You can admit it now. The shitposters lost on this one.

nu-male plot faggot detected

No it wasn't

This.

Blade runner was comfy, I hope the new one is too. Going to watch it in cinema tomorrow.

Unfortunately the comfy factor has been mostly lost

The eternal crutch word of the Holla Forumsedditor, nice job outing yourself.

Makes sense. Holla Forumsirgins are always moaning about muh plot.

I absolutely love the first film, but I found this to be pretty hollow outside of the visuals and world design. I really don't understand where this endless praise is coming from.

In terms of world building, the Prequels worked too.

Lmao, the in universe setting doesn't fucking matter. It's an allegory, you retard.

Shills, people may not remember it, but there were fags claiming that The Force Awakens was great when it came out too. It's cheap to hire Indian slaves to post comments online.

Allegory is for faggots.
