Since we're on the topic of AI, I have often wondered about the concept of replicating estimation. The human mind doesn't work in terms of absolute numbers, it tends to work in a much rougher fashion. our brain conserves a lot of energy by working with generalities and only doing a hard count when specifically working towards that. We can tell one thing is bigger than another without actually knowing the dimensions.
This would lead to a lot of the problems with the human mind being replicated in the AI's mind, but it may also open the doors to a more human type of AI which could be improved upon incrementally.

In my view, if we could make an AI which is capable of falling for illusions like pic related, it would be a huge step in the right direction (of course, this would be ignoring the dystopian future that may result from super powerful AI's).
