fun fact: CIA fucked up yugoslavia and bosnia to install ISIS there (back then it was called muslim brotherhood), probably so they could get a legit reason to invade it and to fight communism.
partially it worked but mainly the local muslim community didn't really enjoy being beheaded for all sorts of shit so they too fought it, which i guess surprised some fascists.
not sure if i'm entirely correct there and i cba to look up sources now but maybe later.

It's true Yugoslavia didn't have to break up, and it's good that more people realize this, but counter-intuitively, that doesn't mean Yugoslavia can form back together. maybe they can form a multi-state agreement like the EU, but we will never see them as closely united again. If you like polyethnic nationstates a lot, then you can atleast look to the East African Community, which has a lot of promise. hopefully South Sudan gets kicked soon, because the remainder fit together quite nicely.

Tito was absolutely hated by both the Western powers and the Soviet bloc. That he lived as long as he did is kind of incredible. No chance in hell that the US would let his spiritual successor have any sort of power.
