There was a previous thread sometime ago about this (not mine), but it's no longer up.
Why not add a Esperanto flag to the post options?
I propose the green star (verda stelo) as an addition to the flag list. The symbol is actually been rumoured to have been Trotsky's inspiration for the Red Star: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto_symbols#Influence
There are a few esperantists here in Holla Forums, and a few leftists in /esperanto/. The language has also very close connections with leftism. Several socialist organisations advocated its use as a way of communicating internationally with fellow workers in a neutral language.
are probably 2 best sites reddit.com/r/Esperanto is good for resources, like dictionaries and stuff
Samuel Young
This. We don't need to make up a universal language when English already is one.
Julian White
duolingo is a great place to get to a decent conversational level, lernu does more in-depth stuff, and facebook groups and the subreddit are great for sharing resources
english is very difficult to learn. the grammar is highly irregular and the spelling makes no sense whatsoever
esperanto on the other hand was designed to be as easy to learn as possible - there are only 16 rules of grammar, no grammatical gender, NO irregularities, and an intuitive system for forming words from roots and affixes that means one can know what an esperanto word means even if they've never seen it before
i've studied german for five years and esperanto for nine months, i'm already better at esperanto
Dylan Flores
For some people, maybe. But if they want to learn a global language instead of whatever tribalist stuff they grew up with, they'll put the effort in either way. 2/3rds of the world already speak English, next to no one seriously speaks Esperanto.
John Robinson
requesting gonzalo and naxalite flags as well
Parker Perry
This is stupid as hell. If we start speaking a weird foreign language, people will never be willing to listen to our ideas.
don't watch this webm btw
Jayden Lewis
anyway, this defeatist attitude is why so many ambitious projects fail to get off the ground in the first place
saying "it will never happen" actually stops "it" from happening
it's a self-fulfilling prophecy
Kayden Hill
Go pedal your lifestylist snake-oil elsewhere.
James Thomas
Don't be so deluded. English is not universal, millions of people don't speak it and many who claim to, speak some dumbed down pidgin instead.
Jacob Adams
lol this board might as well change its name to /flagpol/
Liam Gonzalez
There's a satan flag, and Freud's cigar as options. How are any of these things related with leftism? At least Esperanto as a long history of being used by leftist movements.
Joshua Peterson
Freud was a leftist and Satanism is a revolutionary religion against reactionary Christians.
Jose Garcia
Freud was a reactionary.
Charles Torres
Satanism is Ayan Rand with cosplay. It's as reactionary as it gets.
