I was going to say that only the west believes it because there is something inherent in European genetics but other people born in western countries tend to believe the same things unless their parents have something to say about that (if the parents were also born here then chances are the children would be as screwed as ours).

That said, there is certainly something in western man that makes him more predisposed to "seek out diversity," at least in a subset of them. I believe it's because most Europeans are mixed up with other Europeans which would explain the variance in eye, hair, and skin pigmentation all across the western world; even if there are dominating traits, you would still find a Swedish person with black hair, for example. Westerners love biodiversity of all kinds and also seek to preserve life of all kinds far more than other people, like natural custodians. A part of that wants their own to be "diverse" but that spells an end to them. I suppose the first mixing among European tribes spurred this, I don't know. When I looked at mixed people they tend to be a lot less chaste, especially if they are totally mystery meat (like the modern "Semite").
