Group project that is not going to happen. In anycase feel free to show of your animation project

So we got ~360 active users on this board. I assume ~90% would not want to be involved with a group project. That leaves 10% = 36 people. As we are a bunch of incompetent and lazy gits that no one could be expect to make any more than 1 to at the very maximum 5 seconds of original material. This averages out to a 108 second long project, 1 minute 48 seconds. That is not a lot but it is something. The lack of ability would also make everything look like trash. But if we got down to it we'd have something at the end of the day and I could even be kind of neat. We could do a video string, x happens in video 1 which is followed by y in video 2, etc. Then I could edit it into one longer video. In any case we're the worst kind of cats and this isn't going anywhere and I keep writing for no good reason.
Throw out whatever ideas or OC or animation you've got.

I'd be willing to do something, but bear in mind this is my standard of quality.

This video pleases me more than it should. You can do a whole ten seconds if you wanted.
Now just the whole 34 other people.

If anyone has a very short story or theme feel free to give a suggestion.

Or a song/narration/poem they want a video for, preferably a short song.

I guess reanimating something, or finding an audio track to animate over would be the simplist thing.

Technically we can try and pull a /bane/ and systematically edit 700 frames of a particular scene and replace it with nonsense that would still act out the scene.

That new Tom and Jerry movie with Willy Wonka came out and the Kid looks like Link from those bad CDI Zelda games. Why not pick some scenes Or the entire film and edit it in (draw a hat and pointed ears) Link or maybe more characters while adding some sound effects.

Or we can try and make some youtube poops or something.

Hey if you provide a source video I'm up for anything.

Have you checked pirate bay?

a whole film would be a bitch to work with. suggest something smaller and more manageable

Wait, didn't this same thread pop up two weeks ago? Everyone was making ideas for an OC and we settled on a raccoon cop with a cat vigilante. Then the OP who started it, unsurprisingly, disappeared?

Anyone got an archive of that? or at least a few pictures of the raccoon/cat duo?

It would be a single scene most likely, musical in nature probably

...

check volafile if you want tom and jerry chocolate factory

We could animate it like inferno cop.

Seems like a good as ever time to bring this up.

If you guys want ideas on what to do, consider something like these:
>>>/late/2777
>>>/late/2778
>>>/late/2779
>>>/late/2780

It's basically a TV show with several recurring characters, each have their own kind of personality and certain kind of shenanigans that they're involved in. Each scene focuses on one of the characters as they do something simple and funny, lasting anywhere from 10 seconds to a few minutes minute each.

For example, there's a perverted teacher who in each of her scenes tries to somehow seduce a young student. A scene could be as simple as the student opening a door, noticing the teacher waiting in a seductive pose, and then closing the door.

It's kind of like a short and disorganized version of loony tunes.

What we could do is create a bunch of characters with simple motives and personalities, and then anyone can create random scenes or comics featuring whatever character they want.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm gonna keep trying and get better at this.

I'm so happy I suggested combining these two ideas.

I extend this endeavour my philosophical support.
I got a shit-ton of animation guides, should I re-upload them to the Volafile page?

Does anyone have a story? Also does anyone want to voice act?

That's a weird swing. It sure fits the Inferno Cop style.

It looks like there's someone else tied up or climbing halfway up the rope, making it oscillate.

I'm just screwing around on synfig but i'm learning stuff

The question isn't who is going to want you, the querstion is who is going to stop you.

No bad

We should use Synchro-Vox, like Space Angel and Clutch Cargo.

Maybe for some quick up close gags.

I am learning skeletons, they might be useful but not really if we go for the the whole, smashing cutouts into one another thing.

I'll take a crack at it but I make no promises.

We should make a feature-length film in Goanimate.

A bit too slow.

I would like to take part, but I'm a writer/novice(aka shit) character artist, so my contribution wouldn't be spectacular or anything.

Also does anyone have anymore art of the cat/racoon. it would be weird if the cat was always tied up

start writing cat and racoon adventures. also draw some more characters/settings. or do something completely unrelated and we'll tie it all together into a 100% shit show.

I could give it a shot, but it seems like we don't need anything too complex as far as story goes from reading the thread.

I'd be up for some voice acting as well, depending on how many spare characters there are.

I propose we superimpose Albert the Echindna into this story.

this took ~2k seconds to render out

It aint bad.

with the simple background it took under a minute to render. Fuck transparency must be a real bitch on computers.

The cat vigilante needs some 90s tier fuck huge guns

Personally I feel Albert should look a little less like a Sonic character. We don't want this to seem like some fan-service video or something or maybe we do, I dunno, that's just my thought anyway

Are we going to try to get other boards involved with this?

How come?

...

Swing needs more power/speed

Just to make it more 8ch themed. Although there aren't that many board tans that would fit in a cartoon (most of them are anime themed). I could see Holla Forums-tan and n8 fitting in with an appropriate artstyle.

What said.

What and said.

...

More speed

Needs to be ever more faster!

...

...

Perfect.

FASTER

...

I assume all our characters should be animal-based?

You could throw a Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Marvin Martian types if ya want. I mean we're cartoons not furries right?

Excellent

Well I'm not nearly as good of an artist as other anons, but I'll whip a character up as soon as I can.

Practice makes perfect.

If you provide the assets I will animate them.

If anyone writes a premise/story I'll do some scribbles myself.

Also png, on transparent backgrounds are best format.

Should the animals and humans be proportionate to real life? Humans towering over cats? Tiny mice?

Could just do the cartoon rule where it depends on the animal. Bugs and most animal Looney Tunes are maybe like a foot smaller or taller than humans they interact with.

Nah, its a cartoon.

What kind of tone do we want the cartoon to be? I can write something.

Probably about the same height.

The style of animation is generally like inferno cop. A serious drama would not lend itself to the format. We are working with largely classical comedic characters and a bit of overly grim dark (to the point of comedy). Just don't make it about a miscarriage.

Ah okay. I'll see what I can do.

Is it cool if I mull it over until tomorrow evening?

The project was started last week and so far all we got is is pol smashing a merchant. This is an image board project, it runs slowly in the form of bumps and putters, likely ending unfinished. Feel free to take as long as you like. Any additions will be considered.

I noticed. At least we've got it back on track again. I'm not as NEET as I'd like to be, but I'll try to contribute in any way I can.

I suggest we do short comics. 6-10 pages tops. Each drawfag could do one page in it's own style and together they would make something. It would be more productive since it's comic and not animation and it would be easy, since styles don't need to fit together, only comic.

Someone could suggest a whole thing in sketches or we could just sketch each page then when we got a flow (matching flow between drawfags), finish each and be done with it.

IMHO short comics are good because they don't need to involve much people and we can jump from setting to setting so different boards and communities can be pleased

I drew the original coon cop and some older OC

What would a raccoon cop do? Stop other raccoons from stealing garbage? He'd probably get called an Uncle Tom. And get a lot of shit from other cops. And people would try to bribe him with garbage.
Jesus, this is turning into a racial allegory. Fuck you, Holla Forums.

That would explain him being neurotic and have anger management issues. Hated from one side for being a cop, hated from other side for being a species traitor.

I chose a coon because black spots on his face could look like huge eye bags.

I picture he's just one of those really good cops. You know the types that actually do want to do good as a cop. But he's got a zero tolerance for criminals which is why he lets the Cat Vigilante go. He sees the world in a very black n white way, you break the law then you do the fuckin time.

Other cops aren't big fans of him because he's always letting the vigilante go or because he's hard to bribe.

Tbh I don't trust this board to do a racial allegory (without it turning to shit) but whichever one you guys wanna do is up to you.

I'd also vote against racial allegory. Mostly because I don't wanna have the Raccoon represent a certain race. He's just a raccoon cop. Not a raccoon cop that's a mad black man just trying to bring justice.

Okay so raccoon cop is a good cop, we can all agree to this. Is he always angry or does he just hate criminals a lot? We agree he at least has a working relationship with Cat Vigilante?

Is everyone okay with either/both characters having a giant fuck off gun?

Also: is this a world of mixed animals/humans, or is it a cat like creature world? Should there just be a series of criminals or a major villain/crime syndicate/super villains?

P.S. We should definitely not do any racial things beyond 'those lazy possums ruined this neighborhood' or 'squirrels control the media'

Have him just hate criminals alot. But the level of the crime is what gets him angry like seeing a Jaywalker would have him writing a ticket in 2 seconds while muttering 'People like you make me sick'. I'm thinking almost like a Judge Dredd-type except he can't always dish out death for minor infractions and the other cops think he takes the job TOO seriously.

I would think the relationship he's got with the Vigilante is that he goes after him and he's always slipping away. Each time he does catch up with him it's always he's foiled a crime that he couldn't touch so he lets him go due to that fact. It's a weird 'I hate you but respect you' kinda relationship.

Can Cat Vigilante's real name be Cat Masterson? Can Racoon Cop's real name be Daniel Racoone?

Guy who made pic related here.
I can get some screenshots of the Willy Wonka: Tom and Jerry and edit the characters of Willy Wonka: Tom and Jerry into making them look like the CD-I characters and/or other famous YTP characters i.e. Dr. Robotnik, Billy Mays, & Gaston.

so I'm the one who drew this. I think I'll make a character pack in flash with separated symbols and junk. so you guys can do what you want with it.

thanks

Yes

I agree that we should avoid it. He is a raccoon simply because of eyebag/face thing.

I'd say he hates criminals with a passion but he is also stationed at worst precinct/district. Daily grind in an area with highest crime rates would potentially put him on the edge constantly.
I'd agree on this since too much size variations could lead to major zootopia-tier world-building bugs. I'd say anything from a large rabbit to a medium dog with the biggest thing being a badger probably
The character he is based off also has a large mateba style revolver, but I'd go for assault weapons since he should be more like night-shift armored cops rather than texan cowboy rangers. Anyway, we can dish out another character for different designs.

I'd suggest he knows and openly supports him when he is alone, but when he (Coon) encounters him with partners (fellow cops on patrol), he follows the code and tries to apprehend him. Much like how some cops support Punisher's actions.

I'd say the other cops don't take the racoon cop seriously because he takes his job TOO seriously- of course, he doesn't notice because he's too into it- and he always ends up chasing the same criminals as the vigilante cat. Also, the cat's personality should be lighter than the cops. Not Whedon-style, but at least enough to differentiate the two.

Is that a pregnant Scarlet Witch?

Technically

Personally don't look too into it, as long as its funny it won't really matter

should all the cops be raccoons?

Here's my first one plus 2nd pic related as a OC bonus.

...

Thats pretty good

I'm not him, but I don't think they should be. I feel like Raccoon Cop should be the only raccoon on the force.

I don't think so, no. Raccoon are prone to anger and are very destructive. Also the face colour scheme kinda fits his character, so It really depends on the personality of the character.

I want to fuck that mouse thing.

So what will be the cop's name?
I've got:
John Coonski
Coonie Rodgers
Ro (Roy) Coonner
Jasper Paw

user above mentioned Daniel Racoone

You can have the mouse if I can have the fox reporter from

...

This is fucking beautiful…

Ok, fuck the boards. I want to see this developed further.

...

Heh. I like Roy Coonner. This is really great for a rough draft sketch.

Seconding this, all the other names sound too desperate for a pun.

Nice job so far user.

Transferring designs here from another attempt at making Holla Forums cartoon characters from /comic/. I'm not the artist who did these but I'm sure they would have wanted something to be done with these.

Could work as the cop who's been doing this for decades and is tired of everything.

I like this idea because I like goats.

...

Nympho cat cycle cop?

First character looks like the kind of guy who knows exactly what Coon is talking about, but has just given up and quietly does his work. When Coon tries to explain to him how fucked up things are, he'd just go "no shit".

Nice so far.

Should any animal/species be associated with something? Job = for a animal. Attitude = animal. Character attitude/job/whatever =/= depend on species.
Should there be cross breeding or should that be left out entirely?
Should the animals eat people food? Should that ever be brought up? Should they eat their respective animal diet? Are there animal animals and people animals?
Do people exist at all?
Is this some sort of post-apocalypse where the animals rose up/ were mutated?

I believe you're thinking way into it.

Yeah buddy you're going into 'DEEPEST LORE' tier which we don't need.

DUDE WHO DREW VIGILANTE CAT GET IN HERE

Again great job

Is this a kid show or an adult show?

adult. now let's cut this boring story crap and draw porn.

When does it take place? The past, present, or future? Personally I'd prefer the late 90's to early 20's.The 80's are too overdone right now. Cellphones everywhere are a problem for any story. I like VHS.

Also can we have a ongoing gentleman thief character? (Yes I know it is done to hell and back but I enjoy the trope)

That comic gave me a story idea.

Again youre thinking way into it.

Do cops still eat coffee and donuts?

Officer Ray Coon could possibly work, if you really want a raccoon pun name.

No.

Some do.

Im thinking Ronnie coon Ron coon for short

...

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner.

holy shit! An actual Koon cop!

Oh wow.

I'm down for that.

I still say you should animate it in the fashion of inferno cop for the sake of simplicity.

That is the only real way to make the show work for a ~0$ budget.
At this time we have the basic characters, world, themes, and most of the tone. The most major requirements are the art, story, and dialogue. Anyone can make any additions they want. Even the weirdest drawing will be put in the background somewhere.

What should be our main background?

Not bad

He's seen some shit.

No way I'll animate that. I'd rather do a decent comic than shit-tier animation. Also why are there only 2 guys drawing in this bitch?

There's a reason our Holla Forums doesn't have a draw thread even though many slower boards do. People here prefer to bitch about the same dusty industry jews until the end of time than move on and start doing something productive.

I don't dig the setting so I don't feel like drawing anything but I still think it's really fucking cool.

well spit your ideas in here. This is creative thread, not stick-to-a-single-idea one.

You're shooting for the moon without a rocket.

We discuss more than create also because most of us suck

Maybe Tracey Koon, since Stacey Koon's name seems fairly recognized in history.

Lack of motivation and/or skill. I'll try to draw something this weekend I guess.

Dick Tracey reference defense also

Nice

I have a character and have made an attempt, but it looks like shit so I will flesh it out a bit more. I think I can make it work.

Also, do we have any background and music anons assuming we still are going down the animation route?

Start out nice and simple.

Then you're not helpful.

I do music but I've never done a soundtrack before
It's mostly electronic (dance, lofi hiphop), but I have been playing piano for most of my life and can improvise on the blues scale so there's that

Samples?

This.

Bitches, get on my level.

yo, skimming through the thread and I wouldn't mind contributing a page. Like I said last thread, I'm mostly doing 3d modeling and animation now so I may be a tad rusty, but I'm all about this. So we are planning on doing each page in our own style then? Also, if you're a good writefag or there somebody is who can come up with a script to follow it might be easier to keep a consistent feel.

Well first we need to hype up people so they can start actually drawing. I'd say draw a version of it you like. Start with one page or a panel or smtn just go get the feel of it. Script and story is the easy part. Getting people to do stuff is hard.

If you really need ideas, try an intro page for Vigilante cat. (seen here ) Something quick to describe him or his daily life.

Post it right fucking now, don't delay

This times 12.

...

Nice.

We could make it look less lazy with a paper aesthetic.

This works surprisingly well despite the minimal amount of animation. The main problem is that the static screen with text is very boring, if it could be replaced with voice acting or somehow be made more interesting, it would be golden. The mouth animation at the end already makes it better.

I don't have anything worth showing that isn't already on the internet (I want to stay anonymous for the time being). What kind of music would work for this, anyways?

Just re-upload it all somewhere else with a different name.

Here's a CS6 flash file with the Raccoon I drew. With segmented movieclips, some having multiple mouth and limb poses. Feel free to do what you want with it. newgrounds.com/dump/item/fcf02aeb0b353a9913c2b11678a53a68

here's the rough inks I'm working on at the moment. Gotta fix a few perspective things.

I forgot how much I disliked inking.

So how much time did it take you to animate that?

Keep it goin'!

I do like the different art styles I'm seeing.

I'll definitely try and finish up that page when I get home tonight. I plan on doing three and ending with Coon doing some stuff, though I think the next pages will just be rough rather than fully inked.

Have some scraps the first one is mostly samples
instaud.io/18Gi
instaud.io/18GA
instaud.io/18GD
also, vaporwave instaud.io/18GH

The first segment, just a little under 40 minutes, the second segment 3 hours because I'm a perpetually distracted fucker that likes to "refine" throwaway shit, going to the extent of roughly timing the mouthflaps using text to speech software.

Nice

If you guys can supply the assets, art or otherwise, I can do simple animations for you guys. I kind of do that already for my current recurring project.

Sweet, you should do more of that in the future, maybe host a thread and take ideas.

Well I'm not against animation, I'm saying it's more efficient to do a comic. You get higher…ummm…quality and quantity per hour? ratio. It took you more time to animate that than it took me to do all the coon related drawings together.

NOICE!

is that blender on the left?

...

Great work so far user.

Premiere Pro CC 2014. It's pretty easy to use for manual animation, if you're patient.

Glad to see someone else knows Robot Wars' lineage. It's a great b movie; there is something enthralling about retro-tech cockpits with analog controls to pilot giant fucking robots.

I could do that, although I'm not sure what people would request in that regard. Perhaps it'd be like a draw thread and only get 2 good reqs in a sea of shit.

Currently I just make shitpost clips and intro sequences for my weekly Bad Movie Night streams. My offer is open, if you anons can scrape together some assets. Doesn't have to be grand; hell, it could a silly 5 second animation for all I care. It'd be interesting to work with something that isn't low res movie clips, and are unique assets for that matter.

...

Nice!
Vigilante cat looks kinda too skinny tho. I'll drop some drawings of him soon, since the user who original drew him dissappeared

I'm the user who made him.

I felt kind of ambitious after finishing so I pulled an all nighter and did this as well.

oh!
I didn't realize he was that skinny. I kinda imagined him to be more bulky and strong

Honestly, that probably would work better and compliment the raccoons design more via contrast.
and I never really settled on a design for him below the head so we can definitely go with that.

I'm kinda inspired to draw him with related designs.

Beautiful.

eh, the actual "animation" of the 1st segment only took under 10 minutes. My point was basically on how cheaply animating a bunch of reusable assets would be more time efficient than the 3 hours wasted on (shitty) frame by frame animation

Reusable assets are also going to get old extremely fast unless the writing basically carries the whole thing.

This

I see no problem with comics and cartoons (t. Holla Forums) if people are happy to work on them. If it's just out of necessity then it won't be as fun to do and the animation would suffer. I guess we'll see what works anyway.

That's some good stuff user. What software do you use? That first one sounds very Toonami-like, by the way.

Bitwig. Might be cool to go the "late night bumps" style. Here's more of that but you can't have this one instaud.io/18NN

I'll upload the FLA of the characters in a second in case anyone wants them.

Thanks

uploadfiles.io/cztdd

I enjoy the close up

Nice

Or you could back the environment as interesting as possible.

you made this? That's awesome, definitely my kind of music. It's so relaxing.

Thanks man. Not sure if it fits koon's personality though.

I did something stupid with it.

When did we get an influx of talent on Holla Forums?

You must remember that the user total includes only the number of unique IP posters in 72 hours. It doesn't track lurkers.

I'm not sure what it's conveying, but I like it.

No real motivation to act.

Here too.

Well for most people here cartoons and comics were a big part of their childhood and current lives, so naturally some anons would have spent a lot time drawing them, etc.

This

Not bad

Got anything else to show?

Nothing more that is Holla Forums related, I'm afraid; although I do have plenty of unrelated bumpers and other random crap I've made. I'll probably put them on >>>/bmn/ eventually, now that the board is finally open.

I kinda experimented and I can't decide what I like more. Trenchcoat, simple tank top or a bomber jacket. Everything works with this dude.

Give him folded ears so he always looks angry

A man of all fashion trades. Personally I like the bomber jacket the most. But that's just me. Trenchcoat and tanktop both look great too.

I vote bomber jacket as the default combat gear and trench coat as civvies.

Again nicely done.

Another one with Vigilante cat trying to be your average citizen. Also we need to give him a name.

Color 1 bomber jacket looks pretty darn good.

Maybe something Irish or Scottish mixed with a bit of humor?

Are we settling on Tracey Koon for the raccoon then?

Maybe just Tracy Coon to be safe.

I'm kinda up for Roy/Ray Coonner/Coon. It's pun enough as it is.

Yeah, as fitting as it is, we decided early-on that this would be free of politics. Let's go with Roy.

How about Tony

He kinda looks Irish or possibly of Russian descent. Tony suggests Italian roots, which I don't think the character reflects on first glance but I'm not the artist who made him.

As long as the design is good its not much of an issue.

Not bad at all, I'll have to update his flash rig at some point to match these designs. Speaking of, if anyone has any dialogue from a movie or show that may fit the characters I could probably animate it real quick.

Irish descent, but I'm fine with Tony unless somebody has a better name in mind.

How about Cillian? It's the 22nd most popular Irish name and it looks a bit like Civilian. Other names: Mason, Callum, Liam, Connor, Harry

I'm between Liam and Cillian but I'll leave it up to

it's also going to have to sound good with the Coons name considering they are the main team up.

I like liam but dont mind me im just a (1)
what would be the last name though?

Cillian sounds nice I'd say we go for that. I googled some more irish names
Brendan
Desmon
Doyle
,tho Cillian sounds good enough.
I don't think his last name is that important since it wouldn't come up in normal conversation.
With coon, everyday people would go "Officer Coonnor" while his colleagues/friends would go "Roy/Ro"

Again great job

We could always change the name.

Roy Coon is fine. Coonor is pushing it.

Tom Moore

+1 to Tom because Tomcat, dunno about Moore.

This. I think Cooner sounds pretty dumb, to be honest.

I'm up for that too. In both ways. Moore just reminds me of the infamous swamp wizard, Alan Moore.

Music user here with more chill found sounds. instaud.io/1a9R

Neat

Some got the webm of him explaining the joke curse?

Sadly no.

Damn.

You still there user?

I'm here. I'm kinda not in contributing mood.

What's got ya down?

Take a nice walk and then come back.

You just to take a break of some kind
A walk may do you some good.

RIP
It was fun while it lasted.

Maybe get some ice cream too.

Realistically you need more than just two or three artists who don't know each other outside a slow imageboard working on the thing. You'd also need some script writers for either a cartoon or a comic and if you're going the cartoon route you'll need voice actors. It takes a lot to make a passion project get off the ground, or you end up going the route of Morbi and other web content creators.

You aimed to high when you should've started out slow.

Isn't that the whole point of these projects?

Nothings done.

...

I can't draw worth a damn either, but I try. Don't give up. draw bad and keep bad drawing, keep drawing until good. then look at bad drawing and say, "I draw better now".

I'm gonna brush up on my scenery drawing then I'm going to do a small interrogation scene animation

Neat, got anything to share before you start?

This

since the animation creation thread is dead, anyone mind if I just use this as a dumping grounds?

Just make a new animation creation thread.

Second. Don't forget to put the link there once you do so.

Use the booru.

Not bad

I like that there's reptiles in the lot.

To anyone curious if this project will take off: it won't.
I'm not just naysaying because I'm a negative jerk, I have experience with this. I was the co-showrunner of the first Invader Zim Fan Animation project. We had big ideas and wanted to make a whole new season of the show, but ultimately ended up only producing a 3-minute short on Newgrounds which I compiled and edited myself. Here's why nothing else happened and the group died:

1. The ratio of writers and idea guys to animators was a million to one.
2. It was copyrighted content so none of us could make any money doing it.
3. If any artist with actual talent existed, they're going to make their own shit instead taking orders from someone else FOR FREE.
4. Most of the ideas from idea guys were terrible anyway.

Now take a look at this. Only something with memetic power and recognizable appeal has a hope of being done for free. Kudos to the guys at SA & elsewhere for making this. 11 minutes is really pushing the crowdsourcing of animation as it is and nobody having a consistent style is the charm.

Your "Rigby the detective" bullshit will go nowhere unless you can convince some furries to fund your project, and even then someone's going to take that money and run.

Webm that shit.

Man, I keep missing those memes projects. First Bartkira, now this.

Unfortunately this is kind of just a no brainer. Drawing, comicing, animating, is difficult enough on it's own. "mosaic" type projects are more successful because they're low effort.
If you want something to come out of anything you do, you can't treat it like a hobby. Understanding that there aren't many people who can draw well and who are passionate to begin with is one thing, but hobbiests, nodraws and idea guys are always ready to take it for granted.
Poke around that disaster of a webcomic "community" on the internet. You'll find collaborative projects, never involving more that two people, and they're always friends. If they're not friends? That number is always zero. And forums posts looking for partners are always made by an idea guy.

I should have saved the webcomic with the brown elves that got shilled here a few months ago by its writer. It was terrible, and the perfect example of what happens when an idea guy actually manages to hook an artist onto his project.

Brown elves? What comic was that? Do you remember a name?

Are you talking about this faggot?

That would be a Sargent user, I would learn about your ranks.Otherwise good stuff man

What was the name?

killeverythingcomic.tumblr.com/post/165007515968/comic-scripts-live-reading-masterpost

Thanks user.

Same here man.

Neat.

saverdo

Is anyone else getting Zootropolis vibes from this?

You make anything with talking animals these days and people will say it is a rip off of pixar or disney. It's a no win scenario. Image a dumpster fire with some hobos huddling around it for warmth, a couple use the fire to heat their meth pipes. That is what this would be compared to the squeaky clean zootopia.

While that is true, it's specifically the disgruntled cop narrative that made me think that. I definitely don't think that Disney was the first to have such a storyline featuring an anthropomorphic animal kingdom though. It's just the first thing the concept reminded me of.

Plus, I didn't even like Zootopia that much.

What?

So any updates?

Alright guys so I've managed to fit this into my class assignment. I'll be drawing and developing some characters related to the whole Cooncop thing. Concept art and some descriptions. Want me to post it here?

>'nam veteranbut since it's 90-00 era most likely gulf war vet lemur
I don't know why but those makes a good scratch for the spot, I can already see rabbit gang going against a hare gang. The otter being a ally for cat vigilante a la daredevil
Nice job user

Anyway, I enjoy writing and world building so I could help somehow with the character or even some story arci guess we go for arcs with a defined story so I could help a bit if we make a comic. I've read the thread so I know some background of the main characters but:
We want something like only mammals in the city making another city full reptilian or full aviator? This could avoid zootopia problem of different animals living in the same city
We want to have them eat normal food or animal food? This could be fixed with Mickey Mouse style were there are dumb animals and smart animals without actually acknowledge the situation or making the food just be a blob of not recognized foodsee pics
Do we want to keep it light or want to go heavy crime environment?light: jaywalker-riot-thief. Heavy: all the above plus killers and prostitution ring drugs

Not otter, but Olinguito. I'm trying to bring in a bit rarer mammals into the mix.

I was thinking adding just the mammals with paws or hand-like structures. There are plenty of those.Basically anything in Carnivora species.

Right there is even the name over the drawing I'm a dumb dumb
I Agree on that consideration for hands-pawns style although it cuts out the goat cop that have seen some shit like in
I guess going for pawns to everyone even when it's not real animal like is a good trade off
I can start spit on the wall some story arc initially and giving a background to the raccoon copdid we agree for Tracy coon at the end? something normal like a patrol story as a new guy on the force to show how the city is corrupted but he wants to stay clean…obviously making enemies between the ranks due to this goodie2shoes concept, it all depends on how deep I can go: I can make the mentor just corruptedgetting cash from young tag vandals or ask for cash to a shop or make him a dirt bagsteal drug from the pusher or arrest a guy placing the evidence on him

These kinds of projects usually evaporate because of criminal lack of patience combined with hightened expectations and often lack of experience working within a production pipeline.
FIrst of all, chill out.
This thread is still in the brainstorming phase and thats where it belongs. Dont try to work in a specific framework, there is none. You are still working out an idea, not a specific product of said idea.
At this point literally ANYONE can and should contribute regardless of skill in writing or drawing. Just having an idea is not enough tho, make it tangible. Make storyboards that you can see and drafts that you can read. Make fucking playdoh sculptures and knit plushies for all I care. Dont wait on drawfags to drop storyboards or on writefags to drop drafts, if you have an idea for a scene, write it down in text or storyboard it with chickenscratch in MSPaint.
You can talk about stone all day but the house aint gonna build itself.

Dropping an idea of background for Tracy, start to show he is green and his relation to his first partner. can't draw for shit so it's all text based, maybe if I find free time I will draw some okekaki for it as storyboard but don't bet on it no bully tho. English ain't my first language

First panel:
Tracy coon is rushing outside the door of the police station, people make way for him. Glimpse of his feet coming or going from the panelnot entire body that's the thing
Second panel:
Watching the lobby of the station some scramble problem, secretary have lost all documents in the air or on the floor, people are looking in surprise or annoyance toward the direction Tracy blasted off
Third panel:
Rumor of a door closing and car starting to move into the traffic. One bubble speech in the car, tracy -sorry for being late, forgot the badge in the locker room-
Fourth panel:
A view of the front seats at the bottom both Tracy and the old partner(will call him OP to short) in civil cloth, traffic and skyscraper in the background
Fifth panel:
More traffic view, two bubble speech Tracy -soooo where did you said we are going?- oldpartner-to see an informant of mine, it's in the center…but mostly me showing you around the new district-
Sixth panel:
Car stops on the side, group of teenagerat least two rabbit in the group at the corner acting as thugs, car flashes the longlights. Two BBspeech tracy -so, is him one of them?- OP -I know you still smell of Academy milk Coon, so I will give you a heads up on rule number one; especially when things are so clear, never ask questions. It can save your life-
Seventh panel:
One Rabbit get closer to the car, others brake up on different direction but one other rabbit stay still smoking a ziggy and looking the car
Eight panel:
Back view of the car Rabbit lean on the window rabbit -¿Como anda ese? I don't have anything new right now- OP -yeah sure I believe you tippytoe. I heard there is some movement tonight at the docks, I just want to confirm this.- rabbit -don't know jack about that ese, not my field of playing-
Ninth panel:
Close up of the front seat, subject is Tracy having a slightly uncomfortable face
OP -I'm not your junkie market. I hate when you sell me shit. Don't force me to reopen my eyes on the old things tippy- rabbit -oye cabron, my stuff it's the best in town. I'm trying to step up my game here–ok, I heard that around seven there will be some movement for powder, big movement but I'm not in that you know it!-
Tenth panel:
Op extend the arm toward Rabbit op -ok, if this ain't true I'm coming back…surely I will not be as chill tippy-
Eleventh panel:
Close up of hands from tray POV, cash in one and weed like drug in the other op -ok, now scram or your boyfriend will suspect something-
Twelve panel:
Car starting and leaving, middle finger from tippytoe

It's funny how this concept brought us with SU or gumball and other cheap crap from Cartoon Network

Fam if you want to storyboard, and thats what youre doing there, its not scripting, its storyboarding, just scribble the storyboard in MSPaint with annotations.
Right now what you wrote down is basically entirely unreadable because you tried to do the hard thing (full scene scripts) without the proper knowledge of how to structure it instead of doing the easy and natural thing (rudimental visual storyboarding) that literally just requires you to have a mouse or a pencil to convey the intent.
Use the appropriate tools that are at your disposal.

Considering I'm shit at drawing I just wanted to avoid completely an actual storyboarding…then I will probably try agin drawing but the result will be even shittier

tried my best. as i said im shit at drawing so have done the best i could 1000h on paint

Does Tracey wear shoes?

Each drawing have been done without so I guess no

Its an overall lore question really, tho one must understand that having animals run around without shoes in an urban setting is extremely retarded.

Why would he? Wouldn't that limit his travel abilities since he could easily scamper to rooftops (get to sniper positions) would shoes? It could just be a random thing where sometimes he's got them and other times he doesn't or he just kicks them off when he needs extra grip while climbing something.

why are you applying videogame logic to a cartoon character?
raccoon is a rabid cop, not a navy seal
if anything its the cat that would go vertical because theres no pretense of being the good guy and upholding the law, if youre gonna kill them all from the start might as well take the higher ground
no it couldnt because narrative cohesion is important, its a simple binary decision if animals wear or dont wear shoes in the setting, it just has to apply across the board
now thats actually a thing you could work with and even squeeze some gags out of it

Maybe they need them on occasion but otherwise is not used? Like for Tracy when he is on patrol or when it's in riot gear and Tom when is doing vigilante work while civilian don't use them?

I thought this thread was dead. It's nice to see it back up.

Great work user. Just wanted to express my appreciation.
