Holy shit.

I remember seeing some comic of the movie that was a sequel and explained that Judge Doom looked like Christopher Lloyd back when he was a toon. Still, the idea of him being a possum is interesting.

How would a possum end up in charge of a gang of weasels?

OP's find is far more interesting than that. Also, Who Framed Roger Rabbit is based on a singular book, if I'm not mistaken, so sequels are just some desperate exec trying to cash in on an audience favorite.. Also in the book, I think Roger was the one who murdered the studio exec using a duplicate of himself that all toons can make to do their stunts.

I never read the book, though my dad owned a copy of it. It's called Who Censored Roger Rabbit?

...

Well you look at that.

The comic wasn't canon though if I recall. Also, the comic said omething about him being "Baron von Rotten" a toon actor who was a whole bunch of Disney characters despite that each cartoon character exists as individuals in Toontown. Also, his whole schtick was that a cartoon grenade put him in a coma for two weeks and made him think he was a real villain. A pretty anti-climactic and boring origin tbh. Now him being an ex-Maroon star turned evil after Roger stole his fame is a far more interesting origin.

How would a gold robot that looks like a human end up in charge of a gang of weasels?

Honestly, at least the possum is dressed like the weasels and shares their criminal gang theme.

>(((Stromboli)))

I blame this damn movie turning me into a big softy for detective stories
Also F

I always wondered what his true cartoon form was as a kid. His eyes are even the same color in this scene

Has Robert Zemeckis ever confirmed this himself? It looks too deliberate for him to deny it.

could be a bit of both since in the comic he had the nickname of "the toon with a thousand faces" meaning be could probably shape-shift to such a degree that he would look completely different between roles. and we see a bit of his shape shifting powers in his final battle with eddie, morphing his hands into shit like buzzsaws and anvils along with his feet becoming springs to allow him to jump super high. it's not that far fetched to say that one of his forms he took for a role could have been the pistol packin possum.

Still, the whole "roles" thing doesn't really seem to fit too well in the movie's setting since toons seem to be born from the cartoon they were created for and continue to serve their role or play similar ones for other studios, like Disney loaning its characters to Maroon for who knows what. Sure they can have completely different personalities from their film selves like the rare case of Baby Herman who's shown to be the only toon who is nothing like his onscreen character, but the rest seem to already exist within Toontown and behave like their onscreen selves. And why hire toons as actors when you can just make your own toon to work in a movie? I recall some sort of old "sequel" story which is about as "canon" as the comic here where Doom is brought back to life by the ghosts of the weasels by using his original animation cell and a camera, and its apparently the original Doom revived, original mind and toon soul, not a newborn clone, and is shown to want revenge and all that jazz, showing that at least this may be how toons are originally born in the setting and that studios can make them freely for their films under the right circumstances, assuming of course said comic is remotely canon.

Anyway, I think you're right that the possum was like the Baron in that he prided himself as an actor, but maybe when Roger became Maroon's #1 star its probable that he went evil out of envy? It would explain why he chose to frame Roger. Kind of like how Porky Pig was replaced by Daffy, who was then replaced by Bugs as the star of Looney Tunes, with Daffy then portrayed as the vengeful and occasionally murderous rival after that. The shapeshifting thing may suggest that all toons can shapeshift to a degree or that the Baron stuff may be partly canon or that the possum was so small he just rode around in a mechanical human-shaped body which had a lot of gadgets. Hence the gold metallic color and weapons. Whatever the truth is, the shapeshifting shit is pretty weird even by the setting's internal logic. Although the original book the films were based on were even weirder.

Whatever the truth is, this possum shit is a pretty damn interesting subject worth discussing. Anyone got any more pics of the Baron and the Possum?

more accurately, its title is Who Killed Censored Roger Rabbit

Apparently no one's ever asked him. I'm more bothered by the fact that it took us all almost 30 years to notice this shit. Does Zemeckis have a blog or twitter or some shit for us to ask him? Kinda hoping we solve this soon in case Holla Forums gets hacked or goes full lockdown over this meme war stuff.

There's a meme war going on?

I think he is referring to the war between the media and Holla Forums

Said book actually had a sequel by the same guy who wrote the original book titled Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit? which came out after the movie and even ties into it where its revealed that the events of the first book were just a dream Jessica had, the author having retconned the events of the first one so that the movie was the true canon.

woah woah WOAH

We're getting too deep here. Just how deep does this rabbit hole about a major cartoon crossover movie go? How did Toontown come to be? Did a portal just open up one day? Did it come to be when the first cartoon was created? I recall Bonkers even once referred to an entire Tooniverse too. How much fucking lore is in this?

Apparently a lot of news outlets are saying the internet is mobilizing an army or something against journalists. First I'm hearing of this considering I've been asleep for almost 2 days.

Holla Forums is issuing a media fatwa, akin to Holla Forums declaring GamerGate. It's going to be interesting to say for sure.

Might even join in myself if they give me a good enough reason.

I never understood that scene. In the Roger Rabbit universe toons are like people, so how can this guy just pick up some toon and kill him? What was the reason for that?

Right? This film is probably my all time favorite and I still missed it.

And to make it even more shameful, all the info I can find on this theory is really old with no conformation from Zemeckis anywhere. Meaning people have been speculating about the Possum being Doom for years and I'm just hearing about it tonight.

You know, back when I was a kid and saw WFRR for the first time, I remember making a mental note of the Peter Possum poster, and later, when the Colt Buntline appears, I thought that the murderer was going to turn out to be "Pistol Packin' Possum".

There's another fan theory, based on a cut line, that Doom was Man, the hunter who killed Bambi's mother.

(((Whoever))) is writing the BBC website needs a helicopter ride, I can tell you that. Auntie has a remit to report the news as impartially as possible, but the website is like Buzzfeed without the swearing.

...

I'm really getting intrigued by this theory of Pistol Packin Possum being Doom. Hell that insanely long pistol you got there looks a lot like the one he has.

Same reason the pigs get away with harassing, assaulting and murdering the citizenry (and I don't mean niggers) all the damn time. Plus he's a judge so he's got extra imm(p)unity thanks to his rank and his kike connections.

He's a sadistic asshole. Just like non-Toon judges.

Except not only he's no kike, he takes pity out of Pinocchio's life and lets him go with some potluck IIRC.

Real interesting find.
Also wasn't the book this thing's based on much more grim?

Yeah, if I remember what I've read around, the whole point is that toons don't "die" per se but they can form a duplicate of themselves to act in all of the riskier stunts, with said dupes disappearing after a couple of days. Roger's dupe gets pissed off at being one and sets the whole affair going, Roger himself is dead the whole time and his dupe is confronted with the truth just before he can disappear.

Would you consider uploading it?

Doesn't this contradict the whole idea that cartoon can interact with anything but selected few objects and they just die out of old age or laughter?

What if it's connected to Space Jam in some way, with Toons having their own dimension parallel with our own and various ways to come and go from theirs? What if Toontown was established as a toon ghetto and humans started calling them Toons just like we call nogs Coons?

What I'm most bothered with though is the REASON why he wants to destroy Toontown. I've read around the net that "it's cuz he's crazy" is the general idea on why he would put a fucking Autobahn over the only place of contact of cartoon characters, but what reason did he have to be so specific in what would replace it? If they made it this intricate to find out his true identity, yet solvable, would there be any rhyme or reason behind his motifs behind petty revenge?

The toon shoe was more like a dumb animal. A toon object even. Damn thing couldn't even talk and was kept locked in a crate in storage.

It's a bit more complicated than that.
Roger gets possession of a genie's lamp but doesn't realize what it is and just puts it in his house as decoration. Despite this, the genie inside uses his magic anyway whenever it hears Roger wish for something, although they always have a twist.
Roger wishes to be a cartoon star and he is, but he plays second fiddle to Baby Herman. He wishes Jessica was in love with him and she falls for him for a year, then divorces him and gets back with her ex. Also she's a huge cunt who did cartoon porn in her youth. When that happens, he makes the duplicate, who acts as his alibi while he goes to kill the ex. Roger kills him, but is killed by the genie in turn.
His duplicate goes to Eddie Valiant after being arrested by the cops for the murder of the ex, thinking he can frame Eddie for the crime, but Eddie is able to put it all together and throws the genie's lamp in a fish tank so the genie inside will drown. Because toon duplicates only live a short time, Roger's duplicate dissolves into dust at the end.
But then the sequel retcons it all, so none of it matters.

Hence why the whole baron story is kinda dumb.

Can you guys stop trying to subtly turn this into a political discussion and just focus on the fucking possum?

But wasn't their stories about genies being found in lamps under the sea? Also its like a being made of mist. How can it drown? Seems more like a convenient plot device to resolve the story. If so, the author made the right move in retconning his own story. The entire book reads like a psychedelic pipe dream.

If the Possum shit is true, maybe he just wanted to be the only toon left. With him as the only cartoon star, he could both rule the courts, the freeway and the cartoon industry.

Are there any /k/fags here who could enlighten us more on this gun? Origin? Name? Nickname? Anything? Might serve as more clues.

In the original story. The Disney film was another matter.

He was basically the ultimate greedy gypsy. I recall some have said the movie should be outright banned or have his scenes removed or edited.

Also, in the original story, Pinocchio was the massive dick and even killed Jiminy.

Or maybe, given that Possums are frequently roadkill, it's all a joke about his insanity? An animal that would make something set on destroying his own?

IIRC Genies do have a physical form. The whole mist thing was just Disney's take on them.

I think you're onto something here…

I totally would, but I don't have it. It disappeared somewhere along the way.
Maybe he's a self-hating toon. Maybe he spent so long pretending to be human and acquiring power in our world that he has nothing but contempt for toons.

If true, then that is some super insanity he's got going on. I mean, wanting to kill all toons and possums? What kind of fucking end goal was this pistol-packing lunatic rodent aiming for?

He definitely seemed to enjoy being a human more to the point where he hated laughter, a toon's lifeblood so to speak. Maybe after Maroon kicked him to the curve, he sought to rise in the legal system to get his revenge but eventually became something more. A strict man of business who got more out of life being a human than he did as a toon. But now we're going into Game Theory bs territory here. We really need to find some way of confirming this shit or contacting Zemeckis or anyone who worked on the movie.

Damn the book is way more twisted.

Another user said Colt Buntline, and I'm inclined to agree. It's nothing more than a long barreled Single Action Army. It grew from old west folklore and ended up being produced commercially by Colt in the 50s. Chambered in .45 long, which is more or less today's cowboy calibre. In reality, .44-40 was likely of greater importance, but that's not relevant. It was the standard army cartridge until the adoption of the 1911 and its .45 ACP cartridge, which was intended to ballistically match the older cartridge.

Why are you non-namefagging?

All the original stories are way better of what we got from disney.

I did kinda like that the apple didn't fall from Snow White's mouth in the disney version though.

Great, now I'm imagining Snow White trussed up like a pig with an apple in her mouth.

hurrr… (unzip)

...

Unnnfff

And now I have a new fetish.

Oh well, at least I've still got Pokeahotass here.

...

Thanks for derailing the first good and productive thread we've had here in ages you summer tards.

Possum and political both begin with the same first two letters (PO)

It's like poetry, which also begins with the same first two letters

goddammit what was on this post?

Gay porn summer faggot, gay porn.

If only some of the guns were real…

Robertariot. Second only to Linetrap.

They were going to do this gag multiple times.
I'm pretty sure they mentioned doing it with Gaston on the commentary for beauty and the beast

???

You just blew my mind

Holy fuck I hope this is true. How the hell did it take so long for someone to put this together?

I was looking it up on the wiki page for Judge Doom apparently, some fans had this theory for a while. disney.wikia.com/wiki/Judge_Doom

I'm fairly certain that's Peter's gun but Doom did the deed because Peter tried to weasel out of the hit and got Dipped for his trouble

Jesus christ, how did I actually miss that every time I've seen this movie? It's like how you can watch spaceballs over and over and always find a detail you missed the last 20 times you saw it.

Lucky for me, most porn based around this is already thanksgiving themed.

but I never understood how he was able to change shape, creating weapons out of his hands. Can all Toons do this or just him? and why are they all gold colored?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_Censored_Roger_Rabbit?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_K._Wolf

Didn't read the thread, huh?

Well, he does have gloves on his hand all the time and he does have that vat of toon-acid…
What if his initial discovery of that goo is what disfigured him? And how does he have a human body when clearly his eyes are fake? Is he wearing a human skin suit or a mannequin and he's actually just filling the space within it with what's left of his almost gooified body?

How did a possum become a man

It's pretty heavily implied that he's wearing a disguise of some kind. Fake eyes, fake teeth, gloves, etc. Toons can obviously interact with the "real world" so if a toon just put on some clothes and a high-quality hollywood prosthetic mask, he could possibly pass as human… Even still, Judge Doom acted very strangely and everyone around him noticed.

...

I guess you could say that a toon can do something horrifying, only when it's already frightening.

So that possum is Baron Von Rotten?

That's one of the theory being discussed here so yes.

Or maybe he's so fucked in the head that he thinks violently murdering people is a laugh riot.

Imagine all the bloodshed that could have been avoided if we had imageboards back then.

Does anyone have a source (or pdf) where I can read the book?

Well shit….

That shit was from a non-canon comic. Besides, toons only play the characters they were made to play. Also its cheaper to just make toons than hire them. Finally, Rotten's origins are retarded. He became evil because a grenade gave him brain damage despite that toons are supposed to be invulnerable to everything except DIP and turpentine? Puh-lease.

Probably just ACME weapons he had stashed away. The Possum looks like an assassin and an assassin should always have a variety of weapons up his sleeve.

GamerGate is super gay and autistic though.

Probably some kind of N'wah.

Christopher Lloyd sucks

Go back to Holla Forums.

But its literally just homosexual reddit posters. >>>Holla Forums13089682

Well hot damn. Dem digits doth not lie.

This shit is starting to make too much sense.

Welcome to the exact conclusion OP made 3 weeks ago.

Holy fuck.

How the fuck did I never notice this?

I guess this pretty much confirms it.
