Have you noticed all these people becoming misanthropic because they think that capitalism and it's predecessors are just the status quo, thus thinking that it is just the way humans work?

I've seen movies that often praise this kind of thought, like le red pill movie with this poorly researched statement.

Videos like these also promote this way of thinking.

They all have a very vague solution at the end like "bee the change, man!" or "take action!" which probably leaves quite a lot of people with questions unanswered, and considering the video is just stating reasons why humanity (capitalism really) is bad, they will likely just take those points home.

My point here is that they seem easy to "convert" to radical leftism, as they have seen what is wrong with the world, they just see the wrong cause of it. This is sort of how I got into leftism, except I was never a misanthrope.

Socialism or any far-left position is by it's very nature pretty darn utopian.

By their very nature, people who are more inquisitive and see the mire of shit that is humanity in general, it is easy why some of them would advocate for the alleviation of pain and suffering, like Schopenhauer did.

Interestingly Thomas Ligotti, who is the king of misanthropes, is a socialist.

This is "muh human nature" tier.

If it wasn't the way humans work then why are things the way they are right now?

that image makes so little sense it pains me

It could have been different today. It is the way it is right now because private property is still the driving force of society.

It was more of a philosophical argument that a perfect world is so unbelievable that human beings, even when presumably "grown" for life in the Matrix, were unable to accept it. I.e. it was human nature to take suffering as a metric for the believability of reality.

The machines had to reconstruct our former, capitalist, world – "the peak of your civilization" – not because it was the way humans work but because it was the best we had accomplished before the machines took over. Any improvement on that world risked rejection and thus threatened the machines themselves.

You could argue this is an implicit endorsement of the capitalist order, but it's a very back-handed compliment if it is one.

Because the only difference between a socialist and a misanthrope is whether you believe people should be held responsible for their actions or if you believe people are a result of material conditions and the influence of capitalism is greater than their free will.

How doesn't it make sense?

I doubt it, just look at what happened on easter island, it's just human nature to fuck up and run into progress traps.

Anyone today can be an anthropoligist it seems.

Not different. Easter Island was not a classless primitive communist society, it was a top-down system of kings, priests, warriors, and workers.

Basically separatig men and women makes it all fucked up

Does the "EGO" one imply that males eat females? That two members of the same species are different steps of evolution? Does the ECO one imply that i owe the same respect to plants as i owe to fellow humans? Even with my best efforts it's hippie bullshit

It's natural for us to indulge and not think of the consequences. Just look at history, there's countless examples of progress traps. Not to mention our brains not being wired for the long term:

Just about every primitive society fucked up somewhere. We're literally designed to consume, breed, and self destruct. If you believe humans are naturally rational, then explain why the world turned out the way it is now.

It's just symbolism, we generally place humans above everything else, with females ranking slightly lower than male. It's a primitive way to view an ecosystem. It's how we generally how we think and act. Just look at pic related; We value wood tables and cow flesh over an entire ecosystem (the rainforest), and this ecosystem just so happens to be a part of a larger system that supports all life on earth.

You're pretty autistic tbh.

...

Do you want me to link you a hand full of sources then?

Do it.

Why the fuck would we actually evolve to self destruct? I guess you just heard it in some dubious quote and use it as a go-to argument.

I already have. The class system, private property, and the profit motive corrupts us and drains the humanity from us, leaving behind the worst qualities.

I have seriously considered embracing posadism unironically. Only nuclear war can save us from this he'll.

Because like I said, we have primitive brains.

Yeah because climate change hasn't made it the most obvious thing ever.

You're explaining how, not why.

Primitive brains compared to what? What do you even define as primitive?

Primitive as in, incapable of reacting to future events that threaten civilization.

We probably would have done away with fossil fuels, poaching, pollution, etc. if it wasn't for the profit motive, strengthened and maintained by capitalism. This all has to do with porky wanting to rake in the cash.

Despite this, we aren't even incabable. Products that damage the ozone were phased out and are no longer a topic, for example.

Fuck off moron. There is nothing good about degrading your place in the foodchain so that you are in more danger. I'm not going to damage the position of this species just because you damaged your brain with drugs.

Products that damage the ozone were never the fundamental fuel of the global industrial economy.

how is male > female + whale
is this fat feminist projecting?

You're not telling my anything I don't already know. My point is humans causing disasters is a natural part of being human. We would still have much of the same problems despite the economic system, obviously it would be handled better in socialism, but that's not what I'm refuting. Just look at history and look at how our brains work and you'd know we tend to make mistakes.

When did I imply this you fucking idiot? You're what's wrong with this world, christ, end yourself.

No, it's just your anti-fem autism showing and you missing the point.

The point was that if humans are "incabable" of reacting to events that threaten civilization, then CFCs and other ozone harming substances would probably never have been phased out by now, and we would have an even bigger ozone hole.

We made these mistakes because we were ignorant of the consequences. Now these "mistakes" are usually made with complete awareness of the consequences, but continue because it brings profit to the few, and a small fraction of it to the many who have to work for them to live.
