Communism isn't an idealised end: it's not going to be a laa-laa utopia where everything is going to perfect. Life is still going to be hard and shitty, so you're going to still have your precious struggle; difference is that communism eliminates the things in life that are unnecessarily hard and shitty.

I don't know about others but my goals would be to improve myself in every possible way. I would finally have time and be able to learn what ever I want to learn and do things that I will never be able to do now since I'm forced to work long hours just to survive.
In short, in a truly socialist/communist society I would have the means to achieve my goals. Capitalism makes it impossible for me to have dreams.
