If we eliminate class struggle and capitalism with it, what meaning would anyone have in their lives? Is it not having a goal, having opposition to defeat, that gives us purpose and a reason to be alive?

As bad as things are, achieving the idealized end would be worse, would it not?

Fucking petit-bourgeoisie.

I'll build Communism just to see you all commit suicide because you don't know what to do with your miserable life.

i think so yes, political ideologies, especially those like communism allow us to be always becoming, once we achieve what we set out to do then we have to deal with being. an impossibility.

Join the space exploration agency, or starfleet, if they decide to call it that. After basically all the world's problems are fixed, I figure space exploration would be much more prioritized then it is now.

We can still seek the perfection of ourselves and remain content to contemplate the nature of things. We can become nomads. We can do anything, we just need imagination.

More immediately, Lukacs writes about the self-negation of the proletariat and shedding the stunting influences of work under capitalism.

After we get rid of class struggle, cultural struggle and gender struggle would still exist.

Communism isn't an idealised end: it's not going to be a laa-laa utopia where everything is going to perfect. Life is still going to be hard and shitty, so you're going to still have your precious struggle; difference is that communism eliminates the things in life that are unnecessarily hard and shitty.

who?

I don't know about others but my goals would be to improve myself in every possible way. I would finally have time and be able to learn what ever I want to learn and do things that I will never be able to do now since I'm forced to work long hours just to survive.
In short, in a truly socialist/communist society I would have the means to achieve my goals. Capitalism makes it impossible for me to have dreams.

is this a joke?

What if the Journey to communism is your calling in life? And once reached, meaning ceases?

1000% this

So we'll argue about idpol for all eternity? Maybe I will kill myself.

Who decides what isn't needed for our lives, by what principle does this get decided?

This is like eliminating death; sounds good at first but then you'll have no deadlines to meet, thus making your time completely worthless, thus discouraging meaningfulness, personal growth and sympathy.

Who do you think should decide? Socialism aims to enable people to make these choices themselves. Thinking that workers need to be exploited in order to find life meaningful is so absurd that I honestly don't know what to tell you.
Can you truly not see the value in improving yourself for your own sake?

no, it's like getting rid of cancer.
The world and society will never be perfect, new challenges will always arise. If you need a concrete goal to strive towards after class warfare is gone, maybe full automation can be your goal, or colonizing the moon, getting rid of decease, party your life away, join a soccer team and try to win the grand cup, anything you like. By Thors beard, be just a little bit creative and you will see how much of a non problem this is.

No you fucktards.
You would be un-alienated; you would live for your close friends, the community, your co-workers.

All the bullshit problems and contradictions people waste their time on now—the substance of like 80–90% of mainstream political and cultural and social arguments—will be relevant.

this fam

the needs of human society can be determined objectively insofar as we're biological creatures with needs

some petty faggot is always going to disagree on everything to be contrarian or because he is too far up his own ass, not everything is a personal opinion

No, life's purpose is whatever you give to it. I would say that personal growth is a more enjoyable goal than fighting some enemy.

But it is only by fighting enemies and unjust circumstances, and the victory or defeat that it comes with, that we grow as humans in the first place!

Okay. Then this future would be the product of that growth.

And so we have become decadent, depressed, & without meaning or value for we will have only put our growth towards self-domestication instead of actually living.

citation needed.

What meaning do we have right now? Do you know anyone who actually likes their job? I don't.
I'd fap to lolis like I do now while probably taking some of the manual labour that is currently assigned to the third world.
The difference would be my lolis being free and the labour not being directed towards meaningless shit rich people are willing to pay too much for.

Its about the journey, not the destination.

A journey of spending every weekday waiting for weekend and every year waiting for vacation and decades waiting for retirement.

Don't you think that by getting all of what you want, that you would have nothing left to look forward to?

This OP is one pretentious dumb ass.

fucking says you; stop projecting your morality on us like it's an objective statement.

Was it not Spinoza who declared the perfection of the world, that it was only our limited view that made us see imperfection?
