In that case, Mrs. Beakley should act generally proper to counteract Webbigail's new hyper personality. Her "Mama Bear" mode would kick in once she knows Webby's in danger, like the threat that kidnaps her wouldn't expect the old woman to battle back being so old fashioned and proper.

It kind of seems to me that the core group is Scrooge, Webby, and the triplets, while Donald, Beakly, and Launchpad rotate though the position of final team member and transportation (Launchpad flies, Donald sails, Beakley drives.) In some parts of the theme song, you sometimes see Beakley in in the group but no Donald, and Donald in the group with no Beakley.

It's a new take on the show, so they don't have to explain the change, but it'd be neat if they had it so she was originally plump and sweet like her old version, but after being dragged into so many misadventures by Scrooge or dickbags trying to steal his shit, she is hardly phased by it now.

Or maybe she's actually an ex-soldier/mercenary that Scrooge only hired as a maid because it's cheaper to pay a maid than it is to pay a bodyguard.

I feel like the mastering of the song could have been better. The beat is a bit too loud and the vocals, while still audible, are kinda drowned out by everything else.
Also I listened to the original right after. The newer instrumentation certainly sounds "fuller" as there's a lot more going on it's also louder. Whether that makes it better is up to personal preference. The sound effects don't feel out of place.
The old intro would mainly just cut from one scene to the next, and the new one had more varied transitions and references the comic book origins of the series as it does so. Also in the new intro there's always a lot happening on screen and the camera is almost always moving.

This applies to every pop song from the last twenty years.

It's a nice proper minute long intro like the old days of intros. The comic paneling is nice.
Launchpads new plane looks like a nice hybrid of classic flying boat plane like the Sea Duck from Tale Spin and it's own original design with what looks like landing wheels.

Its a new money antagonist "Mark Beaks" who is based on Zukerberg archetype. Instead of focusing on money, he wants pr buzz, likes and followers.

I expect him to be the guy who sends his twitter followers to badmouth others companies and basically be whiny if someone else is center of attention rather than him.

Also forgot to mention, Glomgold in this universe IS still South American, however, after seeing Scrooge's fame he decided to "out Scrooge, Scrooge"

I like the series, the only thing that makes me cringe is that they decided to "latino-ize" Fenton Quackshell.

Everyone else though seems like a good fit.

I wouldn't say that, as a lot of people said, you can't improve perfection, so they decided to go with their own version of the song for their own version of the comics/show. I think it's catchy enough and does a decent 10's remix of the original.

I thought part of his character was in the air he's incredibly skilled, it's just that he can't land.

There was also one where he hears an alarm in one of Scrooge's banks, flies in to stop the thieves, gets the sign he's pulling behind his helo snagged on a tower, and destroys the whole building in the crash. All without ever trying to land.

How is this a bad thing? Webby and Ms. Beakley were the fucking weakest parts of the original show. The new design looks slick and gives her a reason to even take part in the adventures. And webby made me want to actually kill myself.

Now I know the tumblr cunts are going to fuckin PRAISE just these two characters and nothing else. But honestly, if they don't just spit out "LOL GIRLS R TEH BETTAR" lines I'm certain we'll have two major improvements in this new show.

Well, the impression I got from reading the Don Rosa and Carl Barks comics, was that Scrooge's more humane qualities arose from his interactions with family, and that if he had never met them, he would be as unscrupulous as Flintheart. For example, when the two compete by seeing who can create the biggest pile of money, an indian tries to sell them an elexire that can shrink money. Scrooge is going to buy it, but his family stops and shames him, so he decides against it; and Flintheart buys it instead.

Why is Launchpad so inherently funny? Even in the Darkwing Duck comic book I can't stop laughing at what he does and says.

The canonical explanation is that Scrooge deems him the cheapest on the market (even accounting all the collateral damage) and will fly anywhere, at any time and no matter how bad the odds are stacked against him.

Sure, but combine that with Lil' Bulb also being with the villains, and the story editor explaining on tumblr that all of Gyro's tech runs on the same basic technology, it really does seem like either Gyro's a surprise villain (hope not) or he's having his tech hijacked- in which case, I'd think the millionaire based on tech is the best guess as to who's doing it.

Same, as with most of the plots Duck Tales added that were new. That said, I like its look in this new show.

Gizmoduck didn't hit his prime until his Darkwing apperences in my opinion.

Since Ducktales always felt to me a dumbed down version of the comics I liked, stuff like Gizmoduck or Launchpad only gained me over with Darkwing, yeah.

This is good. The older version had that great song, but the visuals were just scenes from the show and didn't really feel that engaging. The new opening has an okay rendition of the song, but not truly comparable to the original, but the visuals are far more engaging and dynamic.

Launchpad mentions Scrooge and the boys in Darkwing Duck, also there is a Darkwing and Duck Tales crossover with Gizmo Duck. Launchpad simply goes to work with Darkwing after the Duck Tales show events.

I think there's rumours around that they weren't even expecting much hubbub about it and just let the team do what they wanted overall so long as it was cheap, until they started seeing with Ducktales Remastered and the reaction to the announcement of the new show that there was an actual demand for this. If true, hopefully season 2 will look well better.

Guy who made Darkwing Duck, the cartoon, says it's not a shared world, just shared characters. The comics' crossover is utter shit and non-canon nor even licensed, Boom did it without Disney's permission. Ignore it.
