The Joker has won. The Batman is dead

The Joker has won. The Batman is dead.

Not bad tbh

Well, damn.

F

He was too good for this world.

F

at least his twitter wasn't full of Drumpf jokes

Well he is… was Batman. Course he'd be against guns.

...

You can burn in hell faggot.

that's retarded and you know it

F

F

It's a joke.

user plz
He isn't even cold yet

At least he'll be going out on a high note.

F
He died in 1994 though. I'll forgive this not being brought up though, that's probably before most of you were born.

F

...

Ch-check 'em…

I thought that was something only younger people got.

Somehow I don't feel anything. But there's something missing.

It's weird as fuck when you're 8 years old and told that Joker's dead.

Just imagine kids now being informed that Batman died.

F

Life is suffering for the Batfan.

I'm speechless.
I honestly have no words.
But at the same time I'm not sad, good luck in the next world Adam.
F.

F

He lived a full life, well his career never did manage to go beyond 1960's quirky Batman and he was a tad bit jealous of Bruce Lee. Final movie I saw him work with is apt. Rest in Peace Detective.

GODFUCKDAMMIT

We still have Batman vs. Two-Face coming. They'll probably reveal the trailer at Comic-con this year.

I don't think I can take it.

I'm glad he got to put on the cowl (figuratively) one last time and show everyone that Batman can be fun, not brooding.

F

back to >>>Holla Forums with this capeshit

It's going to be a bittersweet watch for sure.

No. Cancer is usually caused by cell mutation. The older you get, the more likely it is that your cells are going to mutate. Older celebrities dying of some form of cancer is becoming increasingly more common

Truly one of a kind.

Shove off, underage.

A cheap costume and a corny script, and yet this man was many people's first Batman.

This scene comes up any time Adam West's name comes up. One of the first things of Batman I ever watched, aside from TAS. Was corny even when I was a kid, but it was fun.

F

You gotta love the fact that they're wearing gloves over gloves.

As a kid, I thought whatever was so dangerous they needed extra protection against their effects.

...

...

That makes sense. Pretty sad it has to be cancer, though. I can't imagine how painful that must be.

Know where I can watch that?

RIP Adam We. no one messed with ye ;_;

F

Don't worry guys, I'll be your Batman now.

Adam didn't deserve this. It should've been you. You should've died.

F

Very bitter sweet.

Go to hell Affleck.

F

...

...

...

...

He died a year after I was born. Damn.

F

If I hadn't heard all those Bob Kane stories from other people, this would surprise me.

What sort of stories?

ADAM WEST!!!
NO!!!

Press F to pay respects for Adam We

I won't miss him, but I certainly will remember him.

I'm a bit more worried about Mayor West being gone

Adam sets in the West.

Good, maybe Family Guy will finally end.
But fat chance of that as long as McFarlane is earning Shekels.

Even if he tried his best.
No one can top the emotion West put into.
I didn't mind Affleck, and knowing he's an honorary suicide bomber makes his role funnier.

What a piece of shit.

F

I think the worst that's happened as been parodies or jokes. But I never heard of anyone hating Adam West Batman.

No, there have been a few scornful comments about the Adam West Batman series when I was growing up in the 90s. Not by adults or by kids, just edgy teens who go for the grimdark stuff because it's "more real".

CattyN or whatever Preston's porn artist name was literally cannot let go of a thing that teenagers used to say because they wanted to seem more mature.

Neither have I. I've heard campy, goofy, corny, etc. But never any hate. Dobby's trying to pretend that he AND HE ALONE loved Adam West's Batman.

I grew up with adam wests batman, I actually wondered in the cartoon why the joker didn't have his mustache.

In the days before HD, when most of us had shitty wood-grain televisions, I didn't even notice the mustache. I think most people didn't notice it either, unless you looked at the screen really hard.

That's what I mean, I can see hollywood execs, edgy teens trashing it. Like anything else though nostalgia and camp catches up. West always took it in stride and hung in there with the cons and appearances. Also doing Mayor West kept him popular.

Yeah, but Preston. Preston just wants to pretend he is the real fan.

F

I'm glad he entered a Batman "Renaissance" period. He got his walk of fame star, he got the to do caped crusaders, and he's an icon among geek circles.

I wish I could find that comic he drew about denying someone on facebook and acting smug about it

F

How does he keep getting away with it?

Of course not, they'll just kill off his character and continue to milk this show dry.

Satan trips
Let me explain.
Everytime a celebrity like this dies, Lee gains his power. He also is hooked up to a machine to keep him alive longer than the people he screwed over so they can't get their credits, rights posthumously (ala the twins from the team fortress comics). If he deteriorates too bad, Disney will freeze him and only thaw him out for marvel movie cameos.

Damn, that was a good episode.

But it's Adam West….Adam West :(

Unless you run with a bomb in your hand through a crowd and have robin with you spelunking down the building saving the world leaders who now speak different minds and a sexy batgirl in purple tights doing everything Yvonne Craig did in the series. You have big shoes to fill.

There was also that live-action movie where West and Ward played themselves and went for a quest to retrieve the Batmobile or something.

Which was first? The movie where the world leaders are pulverized or the TV series?
Does anyone else remembers Vincent Price as Eggman?

It was Egghead. This is Eggman.

There are many.

There's Will Eisner's story about how Kane liked to go out with hot women who never put out. Then there's Steranko's story about how Kane, a total stranger, touched his face (an act he bitch slapped him for). Or that one time where he called modern talents like Denny O' Neil "ghosts" in front of a crowd of shocked fans.

He was an idiot dick.

The show. The movie was made after the first season so they could get international markets interested in airing the show

Now I want a Sonic/60s Batman crossover

why are you here?
fuck off.

what the fuck
I've never heard anyone rag on Adam West.

fuck off

Return To The Batcave.
Hey, does anyone have Legends Of The Superheroes? That was the last appearance of West and Ward as B&R, if you don't count Return.

Fuck this gay earth.

To chew bubble gum and shitpost, and im outta bubble gum

F

There are times where I hope Dobby gets beat up in a dark ally. This is one of those times.

Hee, hee, this skit.

I think some of the more joyless fans of the time were mad about the show making their comics look silly. That all died down after Batman was reinvented as grim n gritty Batman in the 80's and 90's though.

That's because the teenagers and manchildren got what they wanted: A serious Batman. They could hold their heads up high knowing they were reading MATURE comics for SOPHISTICATED readers.

The 1966 Batman series is the axis that the entire history of Batman turns on. Everything Batman in any media after 1966 was a direct response to it, either supporting it, or more often, fighting against it.

The grim and gritty turn Batman took in the 80s is one such example. The people writing Batman in the 80s were teenagers in the 60s and felt the 1966 Batman series was mocking them. They resented the fact that Adam West was the public image of Batman, so when they got to writing Batman, they tried everything in their power to expunge the series from human memory.

Of course, when those writers got older, they finally understood what made the 66' Batman so great, but by then the damage was done.

Thanks for reminding me of this.

I always liked the campy as fuck Batman, but a lot of people I know seemed to cringe at it.

Mr. West being dead just cuts deep.

I really wished Lookwell got picked up.

Batman can be both, and West is the best personification of fun, that's true. Now the problem is when he goes gritty.

You can tell West really loved Batman as if it was his own child, whether because he couldn't move on from his role or whatever.

You were a nice kid indeed.

At the very least Affleck is better than Bale

Pretty sure any faggot who liked Nolan's trilogy would hate West's.

I never did indeed, specially since I wasn't that much of a big fan besides watching the whole thing with my mom.

>all while informing viewers about every single episode of 1966 Batman series, all 120 of them

We will never see such a man again.

k

Gotta share Adam West stories

Adam West gets kicked out of a Hollywood orgy

West and Gorshin were friends for life.

And thus, The Batman and The Riddler spared Frank Gorshin and Adam West from contracting the clap on that very night.

When Adam West finished recording, Bruce Timm and Paul Dini presented him with an original 1966 Batman costume, which they purchased for an undisclosed amount.

Perhaps a bit too subtle.
Fun to see.

Riddle me this, Batman! What has one eye and is six inches long?

Burt Ward said, in his autobiography, that the ladies were "lining up for blocks to be inoculated with our Bat-Semen".

Lol, when they did the Green Hornet crossover he was talking big to some girls that he "knew all that karate stuff", which got Bruce Lee mad, he was pissed enough that he had to fight Robin and not Batman, so when they started filming, he came at Burt Ward like he was gonna KILL him, and Ward just breaks and runs.

I can never figure out why Adam West has the cowl over the cape in Legends Of The Superheroes. Batman and Robin get thrown around by Solomon Grundy, who incidentally is played by the same guy as Chewbacca's wife Mala in The Star Wars Holiday Special.

Man, Hawkman is a BEAST in LOTSH. And Hawkgirl… well. Let's just say she might have made a good Power Girl.

That's a relief.

Also, Catwoman is going to be in it.

A life well lived.

She wasn't in Legend of the Superheroes, was she? I remember Hawkman but not Hawkgirl.

No, wait, I am senile, it was Huntress.

That makes more sense.
I agree completely.
