nothing

State capitalism Authoritarian Totalitarian and Police State.

it wasn't practical in taking account for human nature

Am I the only one who thinks he was the only chance they had to make it right after Stalin fucked it up?

zizek lays it down fam youtube.com/watch?v=ymQik3TyXkA

It's pretty much impossible to apply socialism to an imperial framework.

The USSR was rad as fuck, but still genetically descended from the old Tsarist Empire.

State capitalism > centralized economy but no DOTP > State capitalism.

TL;DR it never had the potential for communism to begin with.

Your implication is that it's impossible to transition from one mode of governance to another. Since more or less all existing states have such "genetics"(???).

...

this is your brain on left communism

Stalin

non weeb version for normies

Yup, and the only intelligent replies in the entire thread.

The revolution didn't spread and the USSR had the added hurdle of catching up with the industrialized west which the USSR tried through investing surplus value and all the contradictions that comes with that.

1) The failure of the German revolution, 1918-1919.
2) War communism, 1918-1921.
3) The death of Lenin, 1924.
4) The famine of 1932-33.
5) The purges of 1936-38.
6) The assassination of Trotsky, 1940.
7) The Second World War, 1939-1945
8) ???
9) The fall of the Soviet Union, 1989-1991.

I think the assassination of Trotksy went pretty well :^)

Otherwise I can agree with this.
??? being the restoration of capitalism by Krushchev and consorts.

World got a huge boost of Socialism in a workable form (Marxism), people lives were significantly improved (all around the world), Russia specifically turned from fundie illiterate banana republic into industrial state on par with Europe.

I'm not even mentioning technological advances or Nazism here.

What exactly is not to your liking?

It was not market socialist

Time to prepare the rope.

Communism.

You mean the inability to go past State Capitalism, create world socialism and let the party wither away in order for communism to become realized?

Russia was fucked before World War 1 (top-heavy, tsar taxed the fuck out of peasantry to make life nice for nobles and to have a fuckhuge military to crush resistance). Russia was fucked by WW1, loss of lives, land, factories, etc.
Russia was fucked by resistance of the White Guards and exploiting classes who cut railways and starved the cities of food. Russia was fucked by technical incompetence, this led the bolsheviks to basically apply the old methods of industrial management instead of allowing the workers to oversee their own production (argument of national welfare and reindustrialization versus syndicalism, the bolsheviks being true to the word of socialism). Russia was fucked by intra-party splits. Russia was fucked by West Europe not making its own revolution. Russia was fucked by mis and disinformation carried out by western countries on their own proletariats. Russia fucked itself by claiming monopoly on revolution and using the comintern for its own ends. fug

...

Yes, you are the only one.

It was more like "Ye, comrade Stalin, you're fucking up commanding the front.. why not come back?" "Ok Trotsky… (You're dead to me)"

Care to elaborate?
