The real kicker is that China has had "most of what it needs blah blah" for almost 10 years. The PROBLEM they face is that they dont have enough CONSUMERS for their products unless they sell to the USA.

They have this massive population, but the overwhelming majority of it is dirt fucking poor and isnt going to save up their $2 a day for a year just to buy a tv for which they cannot afford power or cable to use it.

More to the point though, the USA is I believe the second largest importer of china made goods, second only to the EU, with 3rd place being a decent bit behind, and 4th place being less than half of the US, the rest of the list is mere fractions of what the US consumes of Chinese goods. If you were to knock the USA off the list in some weird trade war, China's economy would tank. They simply cannot make up the difference elsewhere. They would basically end up with those "ghost cities" stuffed to the gills with goods that arent being sold because theres no one to sell them to, which would mean factories shutting down, workers being laid off, and economic turnover slow way down. Which would send ripples through the entire society to the point of causing chaos, riots, civil unrest, and so on.

China is a huge exporter, much of their economy revolves around goods made there and sold around the world, a large part just to the USA. Without that, the whole system would implode up its own ass. And we already know theyve built their own nice little bubbles upon bubbles in their economy… fucking with the US and causing a trade war would start a chain reaction of all of those popping.. and then? It is far from perfect, but the short, concise chapters are far better than sun tzu. Clausewitz I would not recommend immediately, it is much more difficult to read, but you should try it

I'm not the one denying there's air pollution in western countries. However, a good day in any Chinese city is considered a heavily polluted day in a western city. China has a lot more cars, a lot more factories, and a lot more coal plants pumping shit into the air with a lot less regulation in how much pollution they produce. It's not pro-western bias, it's simple fact and numbers easily backed up simply by comparing daily pollution indexes measured by the US consulates in Bejing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shenyang, and Chengdu and comparing them with the measures over London, LA, or NYC over any given day.

In China there are entire cities where the ground water is absolutely toxic because of all the toxic chemicals that leak into the ground from manufacturing and salvage operations. The Chinese use tons of coal every year to heat their cities and towns, and of course power them. Before I went I only heard stories, but when you go live there and wake up almost every morning to it looking like Silent Hill outside, you know the pollution is a much bigger problem than the Chinese government lets on, and that's just in Beijing, not even the worst in China when it comes to pollution.

The coal mining and power operations there are on a much bigger level than what was ever seen in Britain and the US. The fog that I mentioned earlier isn't just from coal, it's also from massive, countless factories that litter most of the country, which all do their utmost to ignore their own environmental laws and spew tons of toxic waste into the air, which then go on to blanket everything, and is almost impossible to avoid.

I'm really curious what will happen to China in the mid-term due to pollution. It's amazing looking at say Alibaba all of the stuff that is produced there. It seems like an endless number of companies producing everything from drugs to lithium batteries. Astounding numbers of companies that can't all be regulated properly.

They're not going to have any advantage left economically if they actually deal with environmental protection, and on top of that the people want to be paid more reasonably and there's a sort of a middle class now that everybody wants to be part of.
