Want to say yes, but also want to further communism

how do?

Just sell out, it's in your ego's interest to do so. Forget about any of the art you've made for this shithole, you're too good for this place.

Say yes and push for communism while you're there. Unless you don't like the people involved or you think they would be more than just unsympathetic to the idea of communism.

Yesss, do it.
This is how we achieve socialism after all, heh heh…

Go for it, if you want to. B████ or no B████ doesn't affect much.

It's not like there is a Communist party to vote for anyway. And it's not like Communism is won by voting.

Go for it mate, there's no reason you can't do both.

The capitalists sell us the rope we will hang them with.

Make subtle communist B████ artwork.

But make sure you ask for details first so they won't fuck you over.

Do it. It's an opportunity to further yourself and your art. You already know the limitations of it, so it's not like you're under any illusions. And your work will always have an audience here provided you don't lose your head and go full pork.

Congratulations.

nah fam I like it here

more precise question: what I could subtly add to the artwork? also, what text should I make them publish along with my work in the description? A communist org? [email protected]/* */ videos? just want advice on small ways to radicalize "Berniecrats"

ty! I will

Congrats!
we still love you catgrill comrade your comics have been truly dank and fun

Are they taking already done artwork or do you have to make new?

I think it's a combination of both? I've done a lot of B████ work before, so that's probably how they found me and they'll probably want to use the most popular ones. But I also want to have them accept something new if possible, and has strong agitation potential.

thx guys. To think I knew nothing about socialism 4 years ago!

My own personal standards would prevent me from contributing anything to a publication which the editor-in-chief refers to as a 'zine'

A Kippah and a hook nose.

No, I jest.
Congratulations on the work. Just think of B████ like a gateway to socialism, kind of like giving weed to kids in the hopes it will make them start smoking crack when they become teens.

This is a good analogy.

Man, twitter is a piece of shit. If you're still there drawfag I can't DM you about the VN, and the accounts I set up keep being locked. Email if possible, or suggest another way we can talk about this.

Congrats catgrill drawfag

To be honest I'm not sure how great an opportunity a non-paid B████ 'zine' is but I wish you the best. May as well let them use your work but I dunno if I'd do anything for them for free. Then again you do stuff for us for free so there we go.

To me it just seems a bit like the million emails you get as an online writer "hey I'm starting a new gaming blog/review site and I'm looking for people to write for me for free :-D"

You need to answer this tbh:

I'm surprised you remembered I said that! She was going to be, but I got 2/3rds of the way through it and decided I wanted to introduce Nihilism first, because there's a joke I want to do with both of them together. so she's in the next for sure.

will do!

Going to try to get a website up before I post the next comic, really need one for organizational purposes. maybe I can open a comments section too, would be super interesting to see random internet liberals react to the comics.

I'd go for some slick entryism in that case

what B████ ██████ artwork has been done? post em

The Situationist International is my theoryfu, of course I remembered!

Holy shit, catgrill got recognised for her talent.
Maybe there is justice in the world.

But now I will never be able to pay her to make commissions for the stupid book I'm writing :(

Sneak in some shit about reform only resulting from the threat of revolution, and revolution resulting from the failures of reform.
My experience has been that convincing left-leaning liberals about actual leftism, the primary resistance that liberals and other people of low political engagement has against revolutionary leftism is:
1. That it seems impossible, unfeasible, unlikely etc. They think that even if socialism is preferable to private property, it could never happen simply due to the ingrained nature of society. This is also where "muh human nature" bullshit comes from.
This belief is hard to combat, and will mostly come with time, theory and debate.

2. The ingrained ideology of the American constitutional democracy / European representational democracy. From our birth, most westeners have been brainwashed to think of the parliamentary democracy as a natural "Good" force, through which all "Good" change is enabled. Killing this belief is integral to any leftist cause.

So how are we going to destroy traitors of the revolution who sold out?

Simple execution does not seem fitting, where as hard rehabilitative labor might be the answer?

do it

imgur.com/a/lTahW no bully :( the dude is inspiring OKAY DAD it's NOT JUST A PHASE

What kind of book are you writing?

Thank you, this is a good way to start thinking about it.

c-can I still draw catgirls in prison?

Nigga I dunno what u talkin bout but i want what we're replacing capitalism with to be democratic

I don't think they were disagreeing with that, I think he meant that the representatives always represented the upper class.

damn catgirl, you've got talent. Please don't sell out. We need people like you under our ranks

When I look at my shoes with holes in them, I still think of all the money I could make if I sold LoL prints. I have so many hang ups about it and no one seems to understand why I don't just hurr durr capitalize.

I just hate the corporate world of money and selfishness and greed and neoliberalism and I want to be as far away from it as possible. No one fucking gets it, which is a big reason I feel so alienated and like to hang out here. At least you guys understand.

You should honestly fuck right out of here and never look back. We're just a bunch of chan autists. You shouldn't let this place corrupt your pure soul.

I've been around the block, sonny. If my soul hasn't been corrupted by now I don't think Holla Forums's gonna do it.

Nothing prevent you to sell yourself for a living and venting about here, that's what a lot of people are doing here.
If you're scarred that your post history here will come bite you in the ass, you can try developing different artsyles for differents places.

This is actually pretty cute.

Whatever you end up doing, link the political revolution to anthropogenic climate disruption. There's so little time left. See this thread

It's not exactly that, it's more how sick I am of everyone trying to turn themselves into a commodity and put a price tag on their asses in this age.

You have to cross post between 50 different corporate social networks to get your shit seen, and then god help you if it's not fan art. All for the end goal of *maybe* being *lucky enough* to be exploited by a big company and pour your life energy into drawing whatever Angry Birds franchise is popular right now. Censored for liberal families, of course.

Seems like I'll just be happier doing what I want in the long run instead of focusing my life efforts into fitting into the global economic structure. I've already had a taste of the upper class life, it's not nearly worth the anguish for me to get there.

What about this patreon thing?

Yeah I'm going to set a Patreon up probably in a few months. I bought the domain name today :D

Radical.

Go ahead? Cant hurt to post your commie-praising memes in a magazine. Might also help your career along a bit, so you don't have to be a wageslave but can draw for a living, perhaps.

Also, free money from the capitalist is always fun.

Forgot to say:
You don't have to draw fanart shite, that patreon thing seems pretty neat and if you just draw art, not popculture-related art, and people like it, you can make money of what you actually love.

Of course it also carrier the risk that you begin to see it as a job and then not enjoy it, feeling preassured to make "good products" for your buyers. Up to you, really.

Good luck, then.

There was an idea to introduce protected social network with bitcoin-type currency (with demurrage) exchanges/donations. Basically SilkRoad meets Kickstarter. I'm somewhat curious if Patreon makes all but illegal economic activity of this kind easier.

It may not be typical work but making art is work and work deserves compensation.
Good luck for when you do make a patreon.

Still think you should go ahead with this one considering it's a one-off non-commital thing and doesn't involve contract shenanigans. It'll give you some exposure and a quick buck while you set your patreon up. Your disdain on how things are done is understandable, but you still need money to get some food on your plate.

Representational democracy is undemocratic in its very nature, democracy is just the name for it, like the PRDK.

That also wasn't the point, even if it's true that representational democracy is in fact the way to organize post-capitalism, it will not be the means through which socialism is enacted.
I don't know of any leftist who does not support worker organization for example, as the most basic example of a beneficial force in politics that doesn't work through muh invisible hand or party politics.

wow fucked that one up, the DPRK ofc.

A book about the history of the socialist movements and rebellions, but put into a fictional narrative to make it more entertaining.
Think of it like ASOIAF that portrays medieval politics and thinking pretty decently, without ever really being about any IRL conflicts.

And people love it.

I might drop some of it in the OC threads at some point.

Sounds interesting, any of it online?

Oh my God the Cringe.

thanks bros

Not quite yet, but I have written quite a lot so far.
The planning phase was the worst, and I am not quite sure it's over yet.

Again, I might drop some chapters in the OC thread, but I think it'll be a few months, because I already have a guy doing illustrations for it, but he's not quite as good as catgrill drawfeg is.

Again, lurk the OC threads, because writing is pain.

You cannot avoid it. None of us does. I want to make my stupid videos of sociopolitical analises of Highschool of the Dead (in Greek) and I cannot cause I never have enough time, going to work every night, doing nothing all day cause I don't have enough energy to do anything creative and so on…

A proffetional artist nowadays has to make a "portfolio" and do things according to the instructions of others and do B████ ██████ propaganda work to make a name of themselves…

Capitalism is shit. And there is no easy way out of it. So, as long as you remember who you are, Simba, it's ok.

At least you're not a sculptor. Now THAT'S having no agency over what you create!

Cool.

We've all been there. Just do it. There is no such thing as ethical consumption under capitalism and yada yada yada.

I do have a idea though. I don't know if it is too late, but maybe you could draw a crumbling platform labeled "capitalism" or "the system" with Birdie or Purnie Sandballs falling. Kinda depressing but should be adequately agitating enough. Maybe add some falling cats or birds in the background to represent B████ supporters.
