I looked through the original of that footage and honestly, it COULD be some weird encoder-error. As it's re-encoded by youtube too, that adds another factor where any evidence of tampering is harder to detect.
It is very strange that any encoder would "predict" that movement. That's just not how these codecs work. You have a reference I-frame, then the next frames are basically just a matrix of motion vectors describing how the reference frame changes.
I have seen worse encoder-fuckups than this, but I also know they could do CGI that looks as good as this.

1) The video has been edited, to at least a minor extent
2) The video is repeatedly cut throughout the interview, noticeably more than in an average TV interview. This could be to hide things that were said that would betray the true date of the interview.
3) There is not a single thing Assange or the interviewer mentioned in the whole video (from my memory) that indicates that the interview took place any time after October 16th.
My wager is on the RT interview having been prerecorded for the purpose of providing some 'proof' of life further down the line (i.e. now). There is no question that the interview does NOTHING to confirm the safety or wellbeing of Assange. The question is, who is pretending that it does, and why?

Wikileaks says that the commit hashes are to match the unencrypted data, but that is indeed out of step for them, their commits have always matched the unencrypted data in the past. Plus, putting out hashes for files that have to be unencrypted before checking them is a security risk. The Holla Forums guys noticed this too, and when I tried to post about it, I got a similar response to what you just got here. I think record correcting might be afoot.

Assume Assange is alive and well - if that is the case, I'm sure Wikileaks is fucking tired of getting harassed by, in their view, a bunch of fucking retarded spergs. As a separate notion, if Assange turns out to be alive I have a feeling there are many people that will not believe it regardless of enormous evidence. Even if Wikileaks is not co-opted their ability to do what they've been doing for a decade may have been seriously harmed because of the doubts about them. The amounts are because blockchain.info shows the wallet hashes in increasing order of bitcoin denomination during the transfer. That's how they ordered the message they wanted shown. If you look at the Wikileaks main wallet you can see they are very often moving bitcoins around to other wallet addresses - but obviously it's a little hard to tell who owns each one. It's not unreasonable to imagine that Wikileaks owns the sending account as well as all the receiving accounts in OP's screenshot, and it's all just a way to get information out through a side channel. The big question is why.
Bit of a stretch. They had to do a pretty sizable amount of computation just to generate those specific wallet addresses in the first place. I'm pretty sure they were doing an automated search for wallet hashes that began with "1" and then each of the words, upper or lowercase, and didn't give a shit what was after the word they wanted for each hash. In other words, the "oW" is probably not intentional. You could pick any two letters after any of the other words and it would have the same relevance, it's just that "ow" as an onomatopoeia has semantic relevance so it sticks out.

I agree in terms of that being the most rock solid way to prove Assange is alive. It's possible Assange solely holds the private key corresponding to that fingerprint, and given that he still has no internet access it is probably a bit difficult to get a message out. I suppose he could print it out on a piece of paper and have someone else transcribe it for him, but we also don't know how often he's allowed to communicate with Wikileaks staff members in person or via phone.
Again, this is all assuming he's still alive. I lean towards that viewpoint partially because so many anons hold the opposite opinion, and also because as much as there is no proof of life there is also no proof of death. I realize you might never get proof of death if someone is captured or killed covertly, and I defer to time as the deciding factor in that case. I don't think they ever released the key for an insurance file before the documents were published on their website. I'm not sure which circumstances would lead them to release the key. Maybe they have an internal protocol / decision making process specifically for that? But if hundreds (or thousands) of people have the torrent with the encrypted file then it's kind of pointless to try to pull the plug on the Wikileaks website unless perhaps you can also prevent them from releasing the key.

This is the thing that bothers me the most. Why would the hash checks be for unencrypted files? It makes less sense than having the encrypted files hash checked. People have been saying that the hash checks for previous insurance files were for unencrypted ones as well, admittedly, I don't have any proof of this, but it would be a good next step to prove that something is up.

He's not entirely right. His explanation, AS WELL AS THE EXPLANATION HE RIDICULES, are both perfectly valid. Pre-commitment hashes are a very open-ended fucking thing, with a variety of uses limited only by the creativity of the user. At a basic level, the only real mechanic is a cryptographic function that "guarantees" a unique hash for a given input. That's fucking it. There's no single one fucking way to use this capability. You could leak the hash first, along with some short description of what you claim is inside the file represented by that hash (such as John Kerry, UK FCO, Ecuador), so that later you can leak the real file and allow people to confirm that they've got the real file. The description given with the hash is just to give people an idea of which files to check when looking for matching hashes.
You can also release them together just to allow people to confirm that their file is downloaded correctly like any other hashing algorithm.
You could also, like this guy says, leak the hash only, on the ENORMOUS assumption that the party you're threatening knows exactly what file it is you've hashed. To me this is a colossally big fucking assumption because:

If it's an email archive, as is Wikileaks specialty, that file will change on their end the moment another email arrives.
The idea behind a pre-commitment hash is just that you can "commit" to some information without exposing what that information is, with the ability to reveal it later in a way that proves that you didn't change anything after you committed. Again, a very open-ended thing.
On the surface, it appears as though Wikileaks may be attempting to change what it was that they committed, since in the past they've released hashes that match their encrypted insurance files, while now they claiming (and condescendingly so) that they've precommitted to the unencrypted ones. This allows them to delay verification about their authenticity until we've decrypted the insurance files, which we all know well may never happen. This is not their normal process, so it raises questions. While it could be explained that Assange used to do this stuff, he's still cut off, and now his staff is doing things in different ways for no significant reason; it could also be explained that someone has compromised them and is incapable of mimicking them correctly, screwed up, and hid behind this false claim to keep up the illusion.
Anyone claiming to know one from the other is, at present, lying.

pol isn't exactly a secret society or anything, and considering the transactions are TO wikileaks and not from it, the domain of possibilities opens up a bit. Personally I don't think an actual wikileaks staff member would do this, because they'd know how untrustworthy it is for the message to come from an unknown wallet, and also because it would out them if their message was proven to be legitimate. I think if anything we should be looking for transactions coming out of the wikileaks wallet itself. Here's an expanded list.

I think they were poking him or his followers to try to get them to openly support Assange while the Podesta e-mails were being released and the Clinton campaign was saying Wikileaks was a russian front. Something like that. I don't remember exactly. What I remember is that the tweet promoting Michael Moore's video happened at around the same time a few old videos of Assange at the balcony were being re-uploaded to Youtube and people on Twitter (and here too) were promoting that video as a fresh new appearance by Assange on the balcony, which was false. And if they don't match after all that, either the commitment was a false alarm or a bluff, or WL has been compromised. "
