I watched the entire series (and as many episodes of that bullshit third season as I could stomach) a few years ago. It's got a lot of the usual garbage disney is still cramming down everyone's throats, but less of it, and it's counterbalanced by things that aren't full-blown AIDS. Things like a strong patriarch, a respect for European history, and other values:

I thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 and what I saw of Season 2 before I stopped watching (World Tour Arc start was the stopping point), so maybe I missed a slew of things. What was so bad about the mythical beasts if they already had such things as Faeries, Werewolves, Wizards, and immortals?

If I recall, Lex gets a gargoyle boyfriend in the comics, but aside from that, it's still irrelevant.
And while that part was dumb, the comics are worth reading until you find out they never got finished.

I actually don't know for sure, but I assume they just weren't selling enough, so Disney canned them.
Same for the DVD releases of the show they just stopped for (seemingly) no reason and far as I know, the show still hasn't gotten a full DVD/Blu-ray release.
