Ok, a simple example from a recent anime.

Let's take Gabriel Dropout; Vigneto, the less sexualized is the best character on the show; and who is the worst? Raphael, the most sexualized.

Raphi's whole character is: bully Satania (without her she is pointless) and having a big bosom. That's it.

Vigne, on the other hand, has the struggle of trying to be a good demon, but being unable and always end up doing nice things. Her relationships are far more deep; she tries to help Satania by making her socialize with them, also she is the reason Gab even comback to school, so she moved the plot forward. And her personality is more complex, she ranges from being nice and kind to losing her patience, making her unleash her demonic powers without her being very conscious about it.
