I can explain what happened with Holla Forums. Protip: it's not actually the Holla Forums exodus.

Basically, around the time of Holla Forums's early existence, leddit went on a full blown banning spree and a shit ton of "NIGGERS CUCK CUCK CUCK xD" subreddits either were banned or believed they would be banned. A lot of them moved to places like Stormfront and IronMarch, but were considered to be too 'newfaggy' and intolerable, so ended up redirected to Holla Forums.

Hotwheels actually expressed discontent with Holla Forums some time ago, saying that they had lost the way and became too obsessed with sniffing their own asses and 'shill hunting' to function as a politics board. There's an image of this floating around, but I no longer have it.

A bunch of edgelords who can't read up on basic philosophy or economics and want a sense of belonging because their social life is so fucked by their failure at social interaction possibly through being a self-rightious edgelord and not meeting the standards of most women.
