Oh no. It wasn't optional. I had to call a woman over to help because there was an error saying the printer wasn't connected correctly or something. It printed it up, told you to take a look at it, and then confirm that everything on it was accurate. The receipts that were printed out were to be sent to some kind of election board. As for the point of the machines, I really don't know. Save on paper, I guess. Believe me. I'm paranoid as fuck that it will either be ripped up or just counted as a Clinton vote.
