Very few things exist that you actually need a big nuke to destroy, and accuracy of modern ICBMs is at a level where they could probably hit a target with convential explosives - an error of a few dozen feet (few hundred in practice). So there is no advantage to using one big nuke over many smaller ones. MIRVs have been bread and butter for nuclear missiles for what, 40 years now?
