I think this may be alright. At the very worst we may get a girl power episode but that's it. Gennedy has had this thing worked out for a while now and I'd hope he wouldn't change it to fit the current narrative. Plus it has enough diversity to the point where we shouldn't have to worry about them forcing characters.

I didn't like symbiotic titan or them hotel transylvania cartoons. Also, while jacks fight scenes were great, the designs for nearly every character besides jack and aku were shit.

Symbionic Titan was fine, and was cancelled before it could really come into it's own as a show.

It's true though. It's somewhat forgivable for non human designs, but almost everyone besides jack and aku looks like they're made for a show designed around comedy rather than an action show, and it's offputting. It doesn't help that most of the designs are incredibly simplistic.

The one thing I liked about Symbiotic titan was the art style. They feel more like humans, but with really simplified anatomy, rather than a typical 2000 era cn cartoon design. I feel like jack would have definitely benefited if it had bionic's artstyle, but done with the paper cut out they use for jack.

They have the most simplistic designs on the entire show.
Go watch the episode with Demongo. There's maybe a hundred different designs in that episode, and they are all pretty good.

Well they've changed the art style for season 5 so maybe you'll like it more now. It definitely seems like they'll be playing with color more, especially highly saturated colors if the trailer's anything to go by.

Did anyone else notice the similarities between Symbiotic Titan and the episode Jack and the flying Prince and Princess?

CR did an episode on ST and that was mentioned in it.

That episode was the one where the show really started to come into its own for me.

Judging from the trailers, I'd say its going to at least be acceptable.

Jack and Aku are the only somewhat fleshed out characters in the show. Almost every other character you see in the show is a one off that is never seen again.

Why people watch this?

Season 3 and 4 were when they got the formula right and by then Jack was more of a force of nature and it focused more on the side characters. Season one had horrendous pacing issues as well as the problems you are talking about.

So basically, you suffer through the first two seasons to get to the good stuff because when it gets good, it gets really good.

Jack will use basically any weapon he can get his hands on if it's suited for the job. In Jack and the Spartans he briefly dual-wields shields while the Spartan king borrows his sword.

He probably didn't use guns much to start with because they're entirely new weapons to him and he doesn't know how to use them, but after years of walking the earth fighting everything everywhere he's probably taken a few trips to the firing range.

Besides, means they can start referencing Westerns, noir and the Matrix more.

Apparently one episode revolves around Jack killing a person for the first time.
This seems unreasonable considering:
1) He has produced a lot of explosions from destroying robots near people
2) There's a 50 year time skip, so we, the audience, are meant to pretend he only killed robots the whole time.

Then again, it might be a flashback episode or something like that.

Could be a flashback episode. But it's also unreasonable when you consider everyone was either a robot or cyborg except for one episode. The bounty hunter episode. Everyone, except the cats, seemed to be wholly human. Flesh and blood at least. Jack fucking slaughters them. So I don't see how Jack would have a problem with killing a real person unless it's a flashback to the time of his training.

It could be why Jack doesn't have his legendary sword on him.

Maybe it's not so much killing just a person. Maybe he accidentally killed someone innocent and he forsook his sword because of it.

The show takes itself very seriously, the only times it poked fun at itself were in the Aku storytime episode and the Jack vs Aku episode, both of which did it tastefully and were hilarious. If anything my concern is that there will be a lack of levity in the season since they've been saying it's darker than the other ones.

There's bound to be some lighter moments here and there. But they'll definitely be scarce.

That was pretty good. Can't wait to see more, sadly, most of the stuff I actually want to see from the marketing isn't in this one. Though it was cool to get a grip with how Jack's going full NAM in regards to his mental state.
