your town isnt small enough, then. my town is 1.5 miles in diameter. every destination i need to be from my job to the grocery store, fast food and cinema is a 15 minute walk

I live in Southern California. If you know the history of urban development in Southern California you would understand my pain when I say it is out of the question to walk everywhere here. Everything is way too spacious, far and in-between. The Greater Los Angeles Area is the largest metropolitan area by land coverage, yet its the second largest behind New York in population.
And believe me, I tried walking everywhere. It's not easy when all your towns are structured like this; >small commercial district (usually a strip mall) 2 miles of suburbs/gated communities another small commercial district
