The episode sucked because it's quite literally about "copycats" meaning the characters had NO characterization at all. Anyone remember how Dexter's Lab did episodes similar like Dexter's Rival or Dee Dee's Rival? And naturally we saw their parents later on? Yes they were parallels to Dexter and Dee Dee, but they still had a hint of characterization and were treated as individual characters.

The copycats in Gumball quite literally only exist as mere mirrors. Gumball shakes hand, goat boy shakes hand. Darwin says whatever, frog boy says whatever. They weren't parallels or anything witty, just redundant mirrors in the form of "characters" who aren't really characters. The episode just sucked because of it.

Not to mention the Watersons came off as seriously unlikable in the episode because of the whole "Let's murder them" attitude. Sure they didn't actively plan it like that, but when Anais suggested her family do blatantly life threatening things to make sure the copycats possibly died while the family laughed maniacally I just wanted to kill the originals instead. Not to mention Anais gloating about the copycat's deaths by saying this is what they get for not having a Little Sister type character.

Anyway weak episode entirely and the Chinese Ripoff is still superior because the characters look more lively due to their coloring, plus the Goat Mom has BREASTS instead of being another flat chested shit like Nicole because breasts in the USA are politically incorrect.

honestly none of the lessons were offensive in the least, they were always about being a good person, not being greedy, typical things a children's show SHOULD teach you, regardless of your religion.
The references are great, the biblical stories are on-point, and the general quality of storytelling, humor, and songs were just fantastic. It's just really impressive how good they are.
