congrats. you gonna post porn now?

Elon who? Space is fake and you are being offensive without reason! Go away cocksucking Neil Tyson/Bill Nye and stop posting CGI :)

When those boosters landed perfectly, I cried a little.

Psalms: 19:1
Genesis: 1: 6-7
Psalms: 104: 5

blows my mind how people worship a guy who basically does nothing but steal directly from the tax payer. but it's cool because he makes electric cars that nobody can afford and does bullshit tricks with rockets

Blows my mind how people who will accomplish absolutely nothing in their lives spend energy belittling the accomplishments of others.

this. fuck space, alien niggers should DIE

For what porpuse? i ask!

because it was either that or some boring slabs of steel, and doing something this surreal got a whole lot more eyeballs on his company

Same here,
i can see that the guy is trying to get things forward but blind fanboyism annoys the shit out of me.
The only thing is know for sure Musk is good at is PR

Hopefully it will crash with ISS

for the lulz

Try to imagine an astronaut's face when the front of a car comes in through the wall

The flamehrower is a perfect example of this. 5 million dollars in flamethrowers.

While he is inside the ISS, gasping for air,

It achieves his own goals, making money. Do you think this nigger is going to give away his technology for free?

bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-06-12/why-elon-musk-just-opened-teslas-patents-to-his-biggest-rivals

It saves him money on development and will also help with anti-trust.

Better tech - Better sales for tesla.

What has he actually achieved? His vehicles are just expensive flashy sports cars, they're not a viable alternative to direct fossil fuel usage at all. His rockets are not reliable. There's been zero improvement on conventional rocketry in fact his rockets blowing up were caused by problems solved 50 years ago. The Hyperloop is a total joke. What he's accomplished is making a shit load of money and made himself look good while doing it. He's not someone to admire unless you're a cunt like him.

You are either a troll, or just plain retarded. It has been proven time and time again, that Tesla cars are superiror in every way, to regular cars. They are clean, for the environment, they have more technology, they are safer, and in the long term, also cheaper.

You are an idiot. His cars are commercially viable and technologically equal or superior to what's on the market. Nay sayers have been saying for ten years how THIS and then THIS and then THIS musk venture will fail. And here we are with the Australian battery, the house solar panels, the Roadsters being built, and yes with the car in space.

His rockets are not the same technology that was in use 50 years ago. (and you're doubly an idiot for watching Thunderfoot's video with an uncritical eye)

As to the hyperloop he's been right over and over again, and so I think he deserves a little faith at this point.

Just…no

What is so ludicrous, about the hyerloop?

It's funny that people don't understand why he would do this. It's just a complete lack of understanding of what patents are. He's not sharing anything people didn't already know, he's just giving permission to people to use whatever bullshit patents he owns.

Electricity is made from coal right now, that's where the shit in your walls comes from.
what a meaningless statement, every car has the same shit now
again, every car has the same shit now
No. I don't think you understand how much those battery banks cost to replace and the general maintenance of those things is outrageous. You can't own these things if you're not significantly wealthy.

Tesla hasn't turned a profit once since it started

No, they're digital now, right? Amazing that we don't use analog computers anymore Musk is truly a visionary. I don't think you really understand how retarded and dangerous a rocket engine is. Him programming it to turn around and land again is even more retarded and dangerous. What needs to happen is either a better engine for a rocket, or figuring out a better method of getting things into orbit, neither of which Space-X is working on. Rockets are out-dated technology that haven't figured out how to move away from yet. The space shuttles were a much better idea but they cost way too much to justify. According to his own predictions these rockets would be even more expensive to use.

kill yourself

Cost ? The reliability ? The fact that metal expands and shrinks? Which means they'll have to use joints which will make the whole thing eve less reliable.
Also the fact that if the pressurization of the tube or the "vehicle" everyone in it will die.

Should've gone with a TGV like we have in France.
Its cheaper, more reliable and actually doable.

Nobody is actually working on the hypermeme.
Musk threw the idea and said "let students from around the world figure it out" thats it.
They're making students compete (fore nothing, no prize !) and anything they will bring will be the propriety of Musk ! its literally in the contract.

Fast trains already exist but burgers are willing to flush billions down the toilet because a man in a suit told them he could make them even faster. Though trains in the US are a total meme and always end up being a massive waste of money for what is used as a novelty.

so, doing the opposite of what jews would do?
Hmm…really makes u think

I think any kike would happily release a few patents to further cement their branding.

Because he fucking can. What did you do today?

Heavy Metal come to life.

i masturbated

...

Did you launch it into orbit?

I got up at 1 pm. Went to mcdonalds and bought a BigMac with my neet bucks. I can home, took 10 over the counter codeine tablets (only a small amount of morphine in them) hoping to get a small buzz. I then got into bed and watched Mr Robot. I took a shit and now I'm shitposting on here.

That's been my routine for about the last 4 years. I sometime manage to get my hands on real fentanyl ( not the street garbage) which helps pass the time in my pathetic existence. This will probably be my routine for life.

You forgot quieter.

The only real problem is the location of charging stations means for a bumpkin like me fossil fuels are usually a more convenient option.

If Musk really wanted to make some quick cash he would talk to mayors of cities with liberal or at least greener local governments and suggest that the police/sheriff dept use his sportier electric cars for their enforcement vehicles. Police stations have a lot of resources the public sometimes doesn't, a police station could have its own fast charging places as many already have their own gas stations to fill up patrol cars.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to take the piss out of something that someone wrote, but this is blatantly fucked up what you wrote. While Tesla cars may be "superior" in the sense that they don't burn fossil fuels, the problem is they have been failing regularly. Several high list celebrities had their cars fail in colossal ways, such as one guy having the handle to his car stop functioning so he couldn't even open the car. Elon Musk himself had to come and fix it.

Then there's the "cheaper" bit. Cheaper in what way? To operate? You have to replace these $20,000 battery cells every 3 years, and the car starts off with a price tag of $950,000. John Carmack's wife "bought him" one, which essentially means he bought himself a god damn Tesla cause he's the millionaire in the household and she's his wife.

Let's compare that to a $45,000 regular gasoline car, you'll pay anywhere between $1000 to $4000 a year in fuel, and then add on the $100 oil job every 6 months. Over a 4 year period, that's going to come out to as much as $16800. Then you look at the Tesla, $20,000 battery to replace, horrible mileage, their stuff regularly breaks so you have to replace it, there's the maintenance aside from battery…

In what fucking universe do you exist that a Tesla is cheaper than a conventional car? If I own my $45000 car for 20 years, I'll still have paid less for it than you'll have paid for your Tesla before you even got to drive the fucking thing.

This is, without doubt, truly one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. I am not fucking joking when I say: you are genuinely stupid. I know people say stuff like this a lot on chans without proper evidence… but you have proven amply that you should be removed from the gene stock of humanity. I sincerely apologize to the Universe for your existence.

Great rebuttal. Clearly you know how to argue.

No it fucking isn't.

It is on Holla Forums now! post up pedofag

Friendly reminder that Elon Musk is basically just a PR guy with a lot of money.
Nothing he has ever done has been particularly innovative apart from the marketing aspect.

All the tech that went into the Tesla cars has existed for decades, self landing rockets are even older, and the hyperloop is older than the fucking airplane. The reason these things aren't commonplace today is because they were never practical.

Making them practical is where he innovates. The idea of a flying car isn't innovative, but it took a huge mount of technology and science and engineering to make the first air drone.

But he didn't make them practical. That's the whole thing. They're a gimmick. They're flashy, expensive toys he waves in front of an audience to convince the government to throw tax money at him.

People don't seem to understand what a big deal this is.
This is the most powerful rocket ever built, and not only did the second stage reach orbit flawlessly the first time, but the fist stage boosters actually fucking landed back on Earth flawlessly the first time.

What did you faggots accomplish today?

lets focus on this for a minute, offhand I don't know how they setup their batteries but if it's anything like a prius or a honda insight (first gen) simply testing and removing bad packs and replacing the few that are worn is enough to refurbish most of these systems in most cases. this tends to happen in laptop batteries a lot of time, one or two cells shit the bed and bring down the rest with it.

going back to the wear and tear, shit breaks. that's what the warranties are for.

So, are you saying that Holla Forums is shit, because it doesn't come with a warrantie?

You're a fucking retard. Fuck off.

Holla Forums is shit because you're here.

businessinsider.com/spacex-falcon-heavy-vs-apollo-saturn-v-rocket-2016-7

When Musk puts a colony on Mars some faggots will still be calling him a shyster.

This.
The only reason he can boast how "affordable" he made his overrated spaceshit is by obscuring the real costs with government subsidies.

latimes.com/business/la-fi-hy-musk-subsidies-20150531-story,amp.html

Bullshit. The fact that it's partially paid for by the government says nothing about the cost. Only who pays those costs.

How can rockets if Earth don't round. Checkmate Christians.

Lies. Saturn V is more powerfull than the Heavy Falcon

You know, we already have a problem with the amount of debris in the atmosphere that will eventually stop us going into space. I don't think a 1500 pound car should be added to the dangerous debris.

That car isn't orbiting earth though.
But yeah it's getting messy up there.

Well just start launching rockets in polar orbits

Imagine an alien space that traveled half way across the galaxy to meet us then a wild tesla roadster out of fucking no where crashes into it and kills everyone.

...

Wait until SpaceX starts sending supertankers to space to prove concepts.

Sorry, I can't hear you over all the bullshit you're pulling out of your ass.

afdc.energy.gov/calc/

Just like to point out that, from the site you give, you would have to own a Model S for over 15 years before it beats out a Ford Fusion in TCO.

This is true, but as has already been shown with the Prius, those batteries are not going to be $20,000 for more than a year or so, at which point they will be priced down to a point where people will actually bother replacing them rather than scrapping the car and buying something from someone else. So you can't really use that figure to project future costs. The rest of your battery figures are right, but since you are comparing cost over time, this figure is going to lead you to some very wrong conclusions.

In addition you are postulating that an electric motor car has a life expectancy of 150,000-250,000 miles, same as a gasoline vehicle. That too is incorrect, as electric motors are far more long-lasting than internal combustion motors. That alone is projected to extend the AVERAGE life expectancy of Tesla vehicles to over 1 million miles. (Nobody really agrees on what the average life expectancy will end up being, but 1 million miles is about the lowest estimate I have seen in any article that is not an obvious submarining.)

The point was that nobody is replacing their battery "every 3 years", and anyone who is, isn't paying for it themselves. Arguing about individual cost is sort of silly anyway, as regrettably (due in part to decreased DIY maintenance) the average length of ownership is only 6 years, the average age of cars is only a decade, and over a quarter of cars are on

...

Can't wait.

Why is the TCO of top tier luxury vehicles even being discussed? If you want bang for your buck you won't be driving either one.

I don't get celebrity culture in general but I think Musk has done a lot of good for space exploration via spending tax payers money more efficiently than the government.
You ask the government for a cheaper launch vehicle you get the Space Shuttle, you let SpaceX do it you get the Falcon.

It's common for inert mass to be used for tests, historically it's been water or steel, in this case it was a car.
I would argue that for test companies should offer the ride for free to college programs but then you have to deal with all the legal and technical issues.
What if their payload destroys the rocket? What if the rocket destroys the payload? How useful is any satellite going to be if it has to be made so cheap no one cares if it's lost?

Agreed, it's the first time in history a GEO capable rocket has been made before any demand for such a rocket exists. He's basically running with the "if you build it they will come" idea and betting ~$500m in the process.

Not even close.

It's good that the boosters landed and a shame the core was lost, the good news is that because he's doing the Falcon Heavy out of pocket without taxpayers money he can pursue fixing the core without any hearings.

Solar orbit is fine, for now.

How do you land a turd in space?

Could you try to speak English please.

Nope.avi

Thats video from before they opened the cargo doors you dishonest boy.

How is it retarded to attempt to reuse rocket stages?

You're either looking at extremely toxic mixtures like Pentaborane-Fluorine or unworkable zip fuels like Hydrogen-Oxygen-Lithium.

Either that or NTRs, which are a non-starter for political reasons.

You got a better solution?

Satellites tend to be extremely expensive, if launch companies were to offer a free ride on rocket tests there would probably still be very few takers because risking $200m to save $40m isn't a smart move.

You are a lying sack of nigger shit-spooge diarhea milkshake.
post evidence when you make a clam.

What if Elon committed the perfect crime? A double murder. He hid one hooker in the trunk, and another in the space suit as a "mannequin."

I still don't understand how no one at the NASA realized that it would cost more to send a shuttle + a payload then just the payload on its own.

The Ruskies also figured out that the shit didn't add up and thought that there was a secret goal for the shuttle.

Tbh i like how Musk is using US tax bux to improve his private company and everyone is applauding loudly.

thats what literally every CEO does.

Is that a big indian chief?

woah

acetaminophen will kill you before the fent does if that is how you live

There was a secret goal, the design was drastically changed after being sent to the air force for "matters of national security". While it has never been openly stated that it was to add nuclear capability because of all the treaties that violates it's widely accepted in the industry that was the case.

The ~$500m I speak of was SpaceX money not taxpayers money, everything that taxpayer gives to companies is a matter of public record and congress only agreed to pay for Dragon and manned rating of Falcon.
