That said, you should all go to his meta and read through it to see how deep the fail goes at this place. It is very enlightening. Nobody, not even the mods, agrees on what to do with this place, and none of them can deny that ultimately there is nothing that can be done to control the flow of shit apart from deletion. Every proposal has already been tried and has failed. Everything they suggest is dependent on being able to ban, which is a tool that does not work against VPN/Tor users.
If all you can do is delete, you can't stop anything. All you can do is clean it up after the fact, and they just don't seem to want to accept that reality. They want to keep acting like mods even though they have no mod tools. It is the epitome of denial.
The reality of 8ch, and it is not just this board, btw, is that the big draw here is being able to make and own your own board. But you only own it in the sense that a janitor "owns" a public restroom. It is "his" only in the sense that he can clean it up when it gets dirty, he can paint the walls when they get covered with graffiti, and he can yell at the punks who shit in the sink and shoo them out, even though he knows that they will be back as soon as he isn't around.
That is the reality of 8ch. It is the Indian Poo Street of the internet, and the BO's, vols, and mods, are nothing but street sweepers with toothbrushes instead of brooms. I have no idea what is going on in their heads to make them believe that it could possibly ever get any better. Because without dramatic site-wide changes it technologically can't. And every metric they have to look at says that it is going to continue getting worse.
