I'm not much of a desktop fan though, just give me a shell instead.

Btw don't expect any graphical performance on a BSD, the scheduler is not optimized for a GUI. For servers it's great and i3 + some terminals will work, but don't expect to watch videos in a browser with it, also shitty drivers
